Trump said Afghanistan was the "Most embarrassing moment in the history of our country"

Much worse than say - Slavery? Vietnam? 9/11?

Not quite. That implied full immunity.

a president “may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers, and he is entitled, at a minimum, to a presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts.”

Also, immunized official acts can't be used as trial evidence.

but the president “enjoys no immunity for his unofficial acts, and not everything the President does is official. The President is not above the law.”

Apparently, this goes back to lower courts to sort out which acts were official and which were private.

Pretty much a victory for the narcissist.

Keep pining for Newsom.  I have trouble thinking he would catch fire.  He always seems to come across as too smooth, too blithe, too conscious of his own image and appearance, too artificially constructed, too calculated, too Ken doll.  I’d vote for him if he was the nominee but wouldn’t put him anywhere near the top of my list of potential replacements for Biden.

Newsom is handicapped merely by being the Governor of California.  He’s viewed as a “left coast” politician and that would not play well in the battleground states.

Perhaps he will be the nominee in 2028 if Trump wins in November.  For now, Newsom should focus on finishing his memoir.  I heard he's already picked out the title, “The Courage to Lead.”  He can also continue to bicker with DeSantis on national teevee.

You listed all his negatives and then in the same breath said you’d vote for him. He’s not perfect by any means, but he’ll get every dyed-in-the-wool D vote that Biden would get, plus a whole lot more from the folks who saw that clown show the other night and already decided they weren’t going to bother showing up on Election Day.

Of course I would vote for him if he was the nominee.  But I think they're stronger candidates who would do better in the battleground states.  And I don't think Newsom would replicate Biden's performance in states like Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin.

All you need to be is "At least as strong as Joe Biden 4 years ago"

Easy.

Newsom is a very smart guy and knows good policy. Your critique on his image is well founded, I mean he was in this photo...

He's scripting a new look. Not dying his hair, and letting it grow scruffy, trading in his suits to wear a fleece with the Bear Republic Logo.

I forgot Newsom.was once married to the former lingerie model. I wonder if Victoria's Secret is still a thing with the younger non-binary, gender neutral pronouns generations?

Neurologist says Biden exhibited "progressive kind of aphasias and degeneration of word-finding" difficulties.”

That is not a bad night and nothing to do with a cold.
https://www.newsnationnow.com/politics/debates/biden-word-finding-difficulty-debate-neurologist/

Anomic aphasia can be present in otherwise fluent people, but Biden showed signs of a more generalized aphasia.

Also, "expressed concerns about Trump’s “narcissism and perpetual lying essentially and an exaggeration,” which fall into a realm of personality disorders."

"Personality disorders are a form of mental health condition in which people regularly suffer from inflexible and unhealthy thought patterns that affect the way they behave and function in everyday settings. ... people with these types of disorders see their way of thinking as normal and tend to blame others for the challenges they face, maybe feeling constantly victimized."

"Cluster B personality disorders lean toward dramatic characteristics like overly emotional or severe, erratic, or unpredictable behavior and thinking.

There are 4 different Cluster B personality disorders:
Antisocial Personality Disorder
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Histrionic Personality Disorder
Borderline Personality Disorder

"Narcissistic Personality Disorder"
Arrogant expectation of adoration and constant praise despite the failure to even notice the needs and feelings of others
Jealousy of others or the preconception that others are jealous of you
Often exaggerates past accomplishments, relationships, or abilities
Convinced that they are better than others and have fantasies of great success, power, and influence."

But did you remember this?

https://sfist.com/2007/01/31/holy_crap/

Double play - refutes the "slick, perfect" ideal, without treading into ground already owned by Trump.

Honestly one of the skeeviest moments of the whole debate was Biden getting very flummoxed (yet again) and deciding to just go "well ya ya ya ya ya he slept with a porn star whi whi whi whi whi while his wife was pregnant"

Felt like he was backed into a corner, his mind was melting down and he just threw out a random insult.
