How does betting on the Masters on DraftKings work?  Do you bet by day?

I won what was called a “showdown.” It’s a single round event. You choose six players all given a salary and have to stay under the salary cap. I won the 4th round which is different from other rounds in that the last round they start off with points, but they only keep those points if they finish in that position. A lot of strategy and game theory along with some good luck needed. I finished 1st in a field of something like 4,756 contestants. $5 entry

You can also do weeklong, which is even harder lol.

I don't really get it but hyped you won.

I have not played or watched very much golf at all in my life (played probably 3-4 times over the last 25 years, you can prolly guess how that went) but I watched the Masters on Sunday.  It was fun through 9 with the main contenders.

Thanks, I appreciate it. It’s a lot like building a DFS fantasy football lineup (if you’ve ever done that). PGA and NFL are the most fun IMO. I don’t do other sports.

I’ve done a few (very very few) NBA lineups but I’m basically throwing my money away when I do that.

There is a point structure for eagles, birdies, pars, bogeys, double bogeys etc. you can also get points for 3 hole birdie streaks. It’s a lot to learn, but you can learn quickly. The game is mostly about ownership. You want to get that guy who “goes off” at low ownership. I had two of them on Sunday. Tom Kim was less than 1% owned and shot the best round of the day. Keegan Bradley was like 1.5% owned and had a top 3 round of the day. That’s where I made my hey.

Yeah I get the general DFS principle of getting the guy who goes off but that not many others picked, just don't understand how it works with golf specifically.

Not a gambler myself but many of my friends are so talk gambling a lot.  Can't lie, it's pretty ugly right now hahaha

Plus, I had Scottie Scheffler, the winner. But you can win a 4th round showdown without the winner. I’d say it happens at least half the time. But Scottie had one of the top rounds on the day, plus got 13 extra points for winning.
