He has been mentioned, however I think you are thinking of the wrong one in regards to the one that is most likely to get this gig outta the two of them. Hoiberg would be the preferred choice over TJO.

Look for there to be some smoke building around Kentucky hiring of Tommy Lloyd from Arizona.

He signed a new contract, but Tucson or Lexington? Buyout is 12 mil, sure Kentucky can scratch that together.

Lloyd is a west coast guy, but an international recruiter, he is now at AZ which is in financial dire straights. He also will have an outrageous amount of NIL funding to work with.

Don't be surprised with this one, it may happen.

Yeah he’s a midwestern guy and it seems like a weird fit, but taking over a blue blood for with enormous resources for a top 5 salary seems like it would be tough to pass up. If he’s ever going to have a chance to win a title and kind of complete his redemption tour, this might be his chance. He sticks around at Nebraska and they revert to the mean and he may struggle to get another opportunity of that caliber.

True. I wouldn't bet on them reverting to mean though. At some point Kansas will likely open as well and there's a nonzero chance he goes there if he wants a blue blood.

Lloyd is interesting in that I think he's solid but seems to have the same issue Cal did where he can recruit but then not necessarily win big with top talent when it matters.

There also will NOT be any future bumps in pay/bonus' etc due to how much of $$$ issue the school has currently.
