If the game was tied up with a FG, the 49er would have a chance to end it with a FG. So there is that.

That's what I was thinking at the time.  Better to have ball 1st and 3rd vs 2nd.

It is a tough call. Who knows if he even knew what the rules were when he made it?

Sounds like he didn’t (we know the players didn’t, they said so) know them and was trying to cover up his error and no seem like he wasn’t prepared…
Because FOX News told me so…

You don't think the whole Kelce/Swift thing has been way over-exposed?

No. He’s a superstar on the 3x Super Bowl champion. And she’s literally the biggest entertainment star in the world. I’m not bothered by 54 seconds of screen time for her during a football game. Which is entertainment.

The biggest advantage to taking the ball 2nd is you can operate on 4 downs, which is something I’d probably prefer. But if your defense is coming off a long drive, I can understand taking the ball first.

I actually didn't know that either. But I'm not getting paid to know these things. Shanahan is. But hey let's scapegoat the defensive coordinator who's unit actually played well.

Yeah, Shanahan looks like a real turd today scapegoating his defensive coordinator
