That’s not to say that the offense “did its job the whole night.” Yes, you want to score more than 17. But once given  a lead that late in the game, it’s not unreasonable to expect your highly touted defense to hold them for one series. It’s LITERALLY the expectation.  Pittsburgh gave up two TDs in the game. Both in the 4th quarter. YOU would not find that acceptable. Unless, it happened to fit your narrative.

If you completely ignore the prior 58 minutes of the game where Dallas marched up and down the field at will,  this is solid analysis. Well done.

Which the offense, gave them a reprieve for by taking a late lead. It doesn’t mean that what is supposed to be a very high quality Pittsburgh defense is helpless to stop them for one 3 minutes drive at home. You are so full of shit if you’re trying to say you wouldn’t flip your lid if this happened to the Bears.

Again, the Bear did do it when Joe Flacco sliced and diced them in the 4th quarter. I did criticize the great Eberlose and Sweat (who wasn't in shape and couldn't be on the field), for getting sliced and diced by a guy who was sitting on his couch a week earlier. I didn't criticize them for being Elite since I didn't think there were Elite, or on the Verge of Elite, like you proclaimed.

You’ve been going on and on for days about how the Steeler defense was helpless against the mighty Cowboys. Up to that point, they’d given up 13 points. The role of that defense is to defend a lead in that situation. All they had to do was prevent a touchdown.

It’s funny, how in PAMan’s analysis it’s NEVER anyone’s fault but Fields’. Like literally never. Even though on social media I saw a lot of blame going around, most of it not directed at Fields.

So you criticized a defense you didn’t think was that good for giving up a lead, but not willing to assign any blame to an actual good defense for giving up a late 4 point lead? That thought process doesn’t contain any logic.

The Steelers’ formula is literally get a lead, and have our outstanding defense defend it. That’s literally the formula they employ. It failed. It’s football. Things don’t always work out.
