I gotta say, it's pretty funny to watch you now, after the fact, try to temper the arguments you made all year.

You argued vehemently every single week of this season regarding Fields' play, consistently criticized Caleb Williams over and over for stuff totally unrelated to his play, and now that we've made the easy obvious decision regarding those guys are trying to frame the arguments you were making as more logical than they were.  We all saw those arguments though.

I mentioned possible red flags regarding Caleb. Maybe a couple of criticisms in there, but yeah, I didn’t slobber on his dick constantly so you got me there. I did note that the consistency of his numbers his career was rather impressive.

What do you mean here, specifically? I feel this is rather vague.

Explain why.

You got pretty upset when Caleb Williams did his medicals with team doctors at his Bears visit and only did interviews at the combine.  You were even upset that he'd have fun between those two events, with his medicals not submitted.  He then worked out at USC's pro day, gave the Bears' his medical stuff, worked out at his visit, etc.

Marvin Harrison also didn't do his medicals with team doctors at the combine.  He didn't do combine drills.  He no-call, no-showed his media availability.  He did not participate in OSU's pro day.  When Caleb Williams told the Bears he'd do their medical exam at their scheduled visit you treated that as a red flag, one worth complaining about on Twitter enough to get mocked by Bears media folks, criticized him for going to that golf tournament, etc.  When Marvin Harrison told teams he'd do his medicals at their visits, and then no-call/no-showed his media availability and skipped his college's pro day, you said it was 'understandable' that he'd skip those things.

Really, end of the day, this - like all of your constant complaints about Williams all year - was actually about Justin Fields.  You are extremely worried about a bad attitude from Fields' replacement, but the other potential pick who wouldn't have replaced Fields did the same thing to a larger degree and you called it "understandable".

No one has "constantly slobbered on his dick", but if I was you and spent months finding any stretchy criticism to levy at a kid and now I had to pretend I had been reasonable, I might beat up a similar strawman I suppose.. It's definitely funny now to watch you try to retroactively temper all the shit you talked all season.

You have been tearing the kid down for literally anything you can find to pretend to give a fuck about since like week 6 when it was clear Fields was not it.  You have been extremely unfair to Caleb Williams since well before he was drafted.  You roasted him for having a nice car.  You roasted him for saying something on some stupid social media video.  You roasted him for going to a golf tournament a couple weeks before the time he'd told the Bears they'd have his medical stuff.

I was 10000x more fair to Justin Fields than you have been to Caleb Williams, obviously.  Like, it's not even a discussion.

What do you mean here, specifically? I feel this is rather vague.

It means that you consistently and vehemently argued that Fields playing badly wasn’t that big a thing or even his fault, while also consistently ripping on Caleb for shit totally unrelated to his play like his car or that social media video.

You knew that though you’re just trying to rewrite history right now to pretend you behaved reasonably about either guy when you didn’t.

I was unaware that Harrison didn’t do his medicals at the combine, if that happened, that’s news to me. I knew he skipped the workouts. I wasn’t focused much on Harrison by then because it was obvious we weren’t drafting him.

“Pretty upset” that he didn’t do his medicals might be a tad of a stretch. Somewhat miffed might be a better choice of words.

Again, I’d never heard or seen anything bad about Harrison until the combine, and by then it was pretty clear we weren’t drafting him. I thought Odunze was damn near as good of a prospect, so I was perfectly happy with how it turned out.

Spark got rather wordy so I skipped over a couple of posts. I’ll try to address them later, it’s time for me to pick up my kid from school.

Backtracking on what? Specifics, please. Then I’ll let you know if that comment is fair.

This is just utter bullshit. I point out some possible concerns about Caleb (sparing him of several of the more mainstream ones). For me the biggest concern was the influence of his father, which so far has t reared its head as a pro. I’ve had some minor concerns about his maturity (skipping out on obligated pressers after losses and had some slight concerns over what I call rabbit ears).

As far as his play, the only thing I really poked fun at was that his perceived potential weakneses mirror Justin’s perfectly. I did get a kick out of that. I did praise him for the consistency in his college production, and I’m about 98% sure I said he’s a better natural passer than Justin, which he is. Though I thought Justin was plenty good enough. Caleb had detractors, and not all of them were Justin Fields fans. As noted, I didn’t criticize him for painted nails or crying to his mommy. That was low-hanging fruit that I didn’t go for. You have been super sensitive to any possible critique of Caleb. Particularly if it was off-field stuff. Guess what, off-field matters, too.

I didn’t roast him for going to a golf tournament. I mentioned that I’d  prefer he priority the urgent business of the franchise he is about to lead, before attending a golf tournament. Again, not deal-breaking or anything. Just didn’t care for the message it sent.

Again, you’ve lost the ability read and conprehend. I didn’t criticize him for the car, I said I’d be looking into how money has changed him (if at al). I know you don’t like scrutiny when it comes to your golden boy, but even Dave Wannstedt later said they literally hire investigators to dig on top prospects. That’s normal protocol.

I didn’t criticize him for crying to his mom, but I did think it was funny.

Yes, I don’t care for his activity on social media (when it comes to responding to his critics). He’s going to have critics, I’d rather he not worry about that. You got me on that one. *Tempo doesn’t like that Caleb responds to critics* What an unfair dude Tempo is.

Again, I never criticized him for crying or for painting his nails. The only part of painting his nails that bothered me was the “fuck Utah” thing. I didn’t care for that. And for the 57th time, I said if Fields is gone, Caleb is the choice, and I never wavered from that. But yet somehow I’m the Caleb Williams boogie man here…

I said many many times, Justin needed to play better and be more consistent, and yes, I also attributed some of the blame (no small part for sure) on the lack of support he received. I never once totally absolved Justin of his sometimes lackluster play.

I never ripped Caleb for his car. I said it made me curious to if there have been any changes in him since getting paid. Any scout would wonder the same. Yes, I don’t like the social media videos in which he addresses his “haters.”

One thing is for sure, I’d like to have seen Justin get the support that Caleb will be getting.
