Have I mentioned that I hate Coleman Hawkins? Because I really can't stand watching him play basketball.
He starts the game with a brick 3 and then a turnover in the first 1 min 9 sec and argues with the staff at the 1st timeout and you may get your wishes.
He got 9 minutes after the arguing.
Still hiding behind innuendo and practicing the art of ommision.

Honestly he has kind of played to his ranking which was 3 star and 168 nationally on 247.
He is what he is and unless he somehow gets to another level - this is it. A few flashes or a couple great plays and a lot of empty possessions with inefficient shooting and shot selection, bad footwork fouls, and weird decisions on both sides of the ball. He is kind of marginally a net positive. Sure as hell do not want him with the ball or guarding the other team closer at end of game.

He can't be one of the best players on this team. If that happens, then this team sucks. He should be largely complementary.

If he's playing up to 3 star, 168, then he should be playing in the Valley. He shouldn't be one of the go to guys on a Big 10 contender.

I think Domask will be our second best player on the floor consistently. Hawkins is a complementary guy as you say. Probably does better when there are less expectations.
If I were UW I would roll the dice with DGL at lead guard (Rodgers is not a lead guard).  Gives us three legit scoring options and threeball threats.
Hawkins can be option 4 and only shoot when wide open, get garbage buckets and run outs. A 7-8 ppg guy on limited shots and touches. Guard somebody and STFU.

Otherwise it will be TSJ and Domask - and hope one of Hawkins, Guerrier, (or Goode off the bench) is making something that night.

Hawkins will need to be out there. Dainja looks like he is regressing.

On another note Moretti looks over matched the more I watch him. Maybe he is tight, but he will not be playing much this year.

As a freshman, DGL is likely going to have games he can’t do anything right and just implodes. He played high level competition in HS so hopefully those nights are few and far between, but I’m trying to temper my expectations.

Hawkins is going to have nights he wins us games and nights he tries to fuck it away. I hope Brad has a short leash with him this year so he gets his head right.

I hope the free shot and 3 pt shooting problem is transitory.

I don’t give a shit if we make the tourney as long as we shoot 75% from the line.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

100% on Hawkins. He's a 4-6 player on most high level tournament teams. If he's your 2nd best player and/or trying to play guard, you're in trouble. With our current roster he could be anywhere between 2nd and 10th on any given night.

I'm disappointed in Moretti not being a serviceable backup PG.

I almost want DGL to be penciled in at lead guard just so Rodgers can go back to being a spark off the bench at the 3-4 instead of eating minutes at the 1 early. This is a better rotation IMO than playing Rodgers at the 1:

DGL / Harmon/Harris
TSJ / Goode/Harmon
Domask / Rodgers/Goode
Guerrier / Hansberry/Rodgers
Hawkins / Dainja

Agree with your lineup (minus Harris now) and Custard's thoughts that DGL would have some rough nights the first few months.
But his ceiling is so much higher than Rodgers and he gives us a much more dynamic offense and the team a higher ceiling. He is also much more physical than I thought he would be on D.
He plays hard.

Not sure what is going to happen with Rodgers. I watched him closely on our own shots and he would sprint to the front of rim when the ball went up and TSJ or Domask would drop back to half court to cover the break.
We all know UW commits to certain type of guys and I think Rodgers may be that guy this year. Rodgers had less minutes than Harmon vs Kansas and less minutes than DGL vs EIU, however.
I think Rodgers may have had 2 fouls which required him to sit more in first half.

DGL reminds me a lot of Marcus LoVett with more hops and a little less flash. We have not had a guy like this with such a full skill set offensively in my memory. Not saying he will be a big star but he has a lot of game.

Where are all the DGL haters when I stated he would be the lead PG by conference....one game in and the tune has changed.

Our best lineup moving forward will be: DGL, TSJ, Rodgers, Domask, Hawkins (unfortunately) scorers/shooters/rebounders/defense.

Best off the bench: Dainja (by default because Hawkins will have mental issues), Goode, Guerrier, Hansberry, Harmon in that order. Goode can sub in for up to 3 players above, Guerrier can sub in for 3 as well, Hansberry for 1 of them, and Harmon 1-2 as well.

Nobody said he shouldn't be playing more. You don't seem to understand who our coach is. Or basketball for that matter.

Tell us more about how Harris will be our 6th man and how Rodgers will be making 15 footers. Now you want to start Rodgers at the 4?
He is a 10 mpg guy on a good team.
Just a guy.

I have only seen the KU game and some highlights. No Matthew highlights for EIU for some reason.

Seems like Rodgers changed his body. Looks slimmer? He had 3 nice drives to the basket against KU.

It's interesting that Buck (and his family) decided he should redshirt rather than transfer. The stated reason is to work with Fletcher to add size and strength. Hopefully, he will work on off ball defense, shooting, and ball handling too. On ball defense is his only apparent basketball skill right now.

Goode and Dain looked bad against KU. I gather they looked better against EIU?

Hawkins looked good against KU. Sounds like he sucked against EIU?

Are you done sucking Moretti's cock? No mention of him in this post. Shocked.

Comprehension or Basketball in general is not your strong points obviously...

Harris was red-shirted after that predictions, so off the hook on the unforeseen actions. I have ESPN, not ESP.

As far as Rodgers, your comments about him probably took about the same 10 minutes to come up with as he will play as a PG by conference season. He will drive INSIDE the lane, and either shoot approximately a 15 footer, you know a free throw (he will make those as often as the rest of the team) LOL.

DGL was predicted by me to be our lead guard by conference (NOT playing more) that wasn't the comment. Hell he will play more simply without Harris as a player who would have gotten some minutes if he hadn't red shirted, playing more is more obvious than your lack of understanding the original comment.

BU can even see and has acknowledged the talent/energy, even BU knows this will happen. He cannot afford to lose DGL after this year for lack of wanting to play a freshamn PG, especially one that is as good as DGL is. If you cannot see it, that's a you issue,  but hey you forgot what you didn't even know you forgot.

Keep watching and tune in again when you have learned something, in the meantime I see you down there at the end of the bench....:>)
