If you’re the Bulls, do you go all out to get Giannis?!

if you're Giannis why in the world would you come to the Bulls?

Hope that new GM is the real deal but they hired a boring mediocre coaching retread and have a pretty rough roster at the moment.  They certainly aren't clearly ready to win by adding a Giannis.

Does this seem to be a Mack-like move to you?

I have no clue what this means, but I bet it's silly.

Idk it seems very similar to the Mack trade. Seemed like a lot of that talk pivoted around whether the roster/Mitch was good enough to make such a big trade. Also remember lots of talk about “windows” and if they were open and for how long. Also much AOTC talk.

Yes it is very similar. I will also go on record to say that if the Bulls have ANY chance whatsoever, you get Giannis. I would trade whatever I had to to get him as well and build around him. I think the Bulls have the pieces to trade. Only question is if he wants to even play here. I hate that the league has went the route of going to the team that gives you the easiest chance to win a championship. Bailing on the team that drafted you or made you the player you are to play on super teams is killing the league imo. Oh that, along with all the “social justice hero's.” Bunch of cry babies imo.

You think they're going to -trade- for Giannis?

What would they trade?

Obviously signing him as a FA isn't similar to the Mack trade at all, and the Bulls are a much more depleted roster top-to-bottom than the Bears were.. but if we're talking about a trade, what do you send (ignoring that Milwaukee says they won't trade him)?  You have to match his $27mil.  Here's the Bulls' payroll.  Who do you move?

https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/CHI.html

Think Milwaukee's going to bite on Giannis for LaVine and Felicio?  LaVine, Markkanen, and Carter?  That's basically everyone on their team who's an NBA starter level player at this point, other than Otto Porter.

Chances are just unbelievably slim.  And I definitely don't think it's much like the Mack trade at all.  Obviously if Milwaukee wants to give you half a year of Giannis for some mid-level guys who are going to need to be paid in the next couple years you do it, but I think expecting them to bite on that is naive as hell.

So let's say you trade LaVine, Markkanen, and Carter to the Bucks for Giannis.

Now your roster is Giannis, Otto Porter, Thad Young, Tomas Satoransky, Felicio, Coby White, Arcidiacono, Hutchison, and Luke Kornet.

What seed does that team get in the East?  a 5 maybe?  3?

I'd take it if the Bucks are silly enough to take it, but I don't think they probably are.  All indications are that they want to take another shot with Giannis, and if they don't they will likely have better offers than that.

Why would the Bucks even want ALL the Bulls players in exchange for Giannis?

Idk I thought by the way you posted that this was already a done deal. I dont follow the bulls. It seemed like a similar situation to me. Big move, but are there enough pieces for it to matter type of deal.

Far from a done deal, it's a long-shot homer fantasy.  It's a little like saying, "if the Bulls can trade for LeBron they should do it!"
