I remember the Illini playing UCLA pretty tough in 1970s with Walton and Wilkes and John Wooden had said some complimentary words post game about Connor. Kinda tough for a 6-6 center to go up against Walton but he held his own.

Harry Combes had a team built for taking on Wooden.  Slush fund happened a year too soon.

Yeah would’ve helped us if EIU won because that Kansas game (as good as it was) doesn’t even count.

I remember the game against UCLA after the slush fund. 1st time seeing Lew Alcindor/Kareem play. Was amazed at what he could do. Score that day was like 120-82. Dave Scholz and Jim Dawson were the only really good players the Illini had left after the slush fund. Jones, Dunlap, and Kuberski would have made that team so much better, no doubt.

Kansas being a team I somewhat follow for family reasons I can advise they are a confident 2-guard short as Jackson and the rotation guys aren't as polished as Dick (went there, no regrets) or Braun and they're missing some on-court leadership that they've in the recent past with large roster turnover (Hunter just may not have that personality trait in his quest to be a heel). If they win the B12 I will be surprised.

They seem to have a lot of very talented pieces but agree it's a work in progress.

All these years I was labeled a KU fan, only to find out it was you…
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Tennessee getting waxed by UNC. 61-39 at halftime. Yes, they really did give up 61 points in one half.

And it is now an 8 point game with 1:34 left. They keep coming at you.

God help the poor soul on our roster who draws the Dalton Knecht assignment in that game. That kid is a certified baller.

Iowa put up 103 tonight.

Their freshmen big who was ranked #180 or something is averaging double figures playing like 15 mpg.

Our Top 60 freshmen big is really kind of a non factor so far.

Of course he will need two years in the weight room and has to learn the complex system we use before he could possibly be expected to contribute.  ::)

Iowa is same story as usual and tries to outscore you.
Fran is a bigger dick redass than UW but he can really coach offense.
