Ok,let's go back to say the 80's and list the top 5 All Athletic team.

Is Shannon in the conversation?

I didn't get to see Flyin Illini team so mine in pretty much late 90's on.

Ok, I will throw out a couple names.

Efrem Winters before he started doing coke.
Rennie Clemons because he dunked on Shaq.
Kendrick Nunn when he went to get his money.

 :)

Didn’t Jereme Richmond pull a gun on somebody?

Brian Caldwell left someone to die?

Slacking…

No, Jamar Smith left Brian Carlwell to die. And Dr. Frazier pronounced him dead. Or something like that.

Rennie Clemons did time in prison.

Jamar Smith left Caldwell in car. Smith had a .176 blood alcohol level.
That only gets one Honorable Mention on the team.

You know I hate to say it, but I think Frazier has some bad mojo following his ass around.
Not sure we want him on staff.

Meyer’s Leonard was a lottery pick because of his athleticism and size

There hasn't been a better athlete than Preston Pearson. He was a 6-1 high school center from Freeport. Was also a good baseball player. Walked on to play basketball at Illinois.

Once missed a dunk. The ball careened off the rim, went airborne, and came down near mid-court.

Punched an opposing player and knocked him about 20 feet.

Blocked Lew Alcindor's sky hook.

Played 14 years in the NFL as a running back, receiver, and kick returner.

Yes, he would definitely be in the discussion. As would Nunn, Winters, Paul, Harper, Gill, Anderson, maybe Battle, Liberty, Hamilton, Notree, DWill (as a pro), Luther to name a few.
Most of those guys saw NBA time and some had stellar careers which for better or worse is a key indicator of very high level athleticism.
Shannon makes the list of those considered. I think he maybe catches on a roster somewhere.

I think the thing on Loyalty about him is we have not had a lot of really high level athletes in recent years. Ayo is very fast with the ball in open court and good athlete, but not really super athletic.
Frankie was smooth as hell and amazing , but not an elite athlete.

Good call. Really unusual path.
