I agree with hit, not sure about really. Pretty much everyone is hitting the portal.

Bigs: Dainja, Johnson, Hansberry, Jackstys.

Wings: Goode, Rodgers, Harris

Guards: DGL, Moretti, Butler

Assuming no attrition, the most obvious needs would be another wing, and a serviceable point guard. Another big for depth?

Yeah- this looks pretty thin and we do not have a discernible system on either side of the ball other than go play hard and make plays.

Guy on Loyalty says Epp's stats don't matter because Georgetown is bad and only beats tems near 300 rank on Kenpom

Yet he's only taken 8 more shots than Shannon and Illinois ha sonly beaten teams near 300 in ken pom

Look at the game logs.

Epps took 19, 22, and 18 shots to score 22, 31, and 34. In other games he took 4 shots to score 5, 12 shots to score 16, and 8 shots to score 10.

In his last two, Epps took 40 shots and scored 65 points.

The point I saw made was he is not  going to get 20 shots to score 30 points at a better program.

Shannon shots: 10, 12, 16, 14, 13, 10.

Points: 16, 15, 21, 22, 24,19.

In his last two, Shannon took 23 shots and scored 43 points.

Is that Dan guy really going to allow you to pontificate about Moretti like you can here?

Lots of posters mentioned the kid there more than I did here.

Would others be allowed to project a male on male fellatio fetish? No.

Good analysis.

Good analysis.

He is doing pretty well for his first year as a FT high minute starter and he is the go to guy and focus of the D on that team.
His Eff FG% is 58 which is very good for the amount of shots and the number of threes he takes. I do not expect that to stay there.
Shannon's is 61% and was boosted by his huge game from three vs WIU on Sunday. I also do not expect that to stay there.
I would welcome Shannon getting more shots. however.

No question that Shannon is more efficient overall, but I sure wouldn't mind if we had a bought in Epps here in place of Rodgers on top.

Yeah- this looks pretty thin and we do not have a discernible system on either side of the ball other than go play hard and make plays.

First a caveat that the only full games I watched were KU, Southern, and WIU.

I am discerning that BU is working in his systems. Spread offence and half court pressure defense.
? Some of it looks like semi organized chaos.

As for next season, they have good players returning and a couple good ones coming in.

Between Gibbs-Lawhorn, the Italian kid, and Butler, they should be able to move Rodgers off the point.

Goode, Rodgers, Buck on the wings, you have a shooter, a slasher, and a junk yard dog. plus DGL can slide over.

Johnson, Dainja, and Hansberry has the potential to the best big rotation we've had in a very long time. Rodgers can play there if needed. Jackstys should probably red-shirt.

That's without adding anyone from the portal.

Wouldn't it be nice if we worried about this year before worrying about next year??

Some of the smarter members are capable of multitasking. Like analyzing the past, present, and future.

Next year's point guard?

I hope Butler is a stud here but man I don’t want all my eggs in the “three star true frosh combo guard with no other high major offers is our PG next year” basket because that’s shades of Chester Frazier and Jaylon Tate and yikes

Some of the smarter members

A. Always talking about penises....

B. Everything is relative, I guess, when discussing the intelligence of the posters around here.

Epps might be the focus of the D, but he is also the focus of the O. Cooley can coach and is getting him good looks against lesser competition. He's not taking 20 shots at UI and he isn't a point guard.
