You people are genuinely retarded if you think he actually said that.
Yes, it would be idiotic to think that someone straight up using the Fascism playbook would say that the all time most famous fascist had some good ideas.

Someone needs to start a poll on who can virtue signal the hardest
Virtue signaling is annoying, but not as annoying as people who can’t tell the difference between “virtue signaling” and just trying to get other people to be decent human beings and not big dumb idiots.

I was pretty sure Kofi was coming back to college. The Kentucky thing has me worried though.

BU had better come up with a game plan to pitch to Kofi to get him more midrange opportunities.

Having Kofi is great for winning a bunch of games in the B1G and then losing in the tourney to a team that can exploit the very weaknesses that keep him from being an NBA draft pick.

It just doesn’t matter if he can go for 20 and 10 every night with a ton of awesome dunks when he can’t pass out of the post effectively and can’t guard anyone mobile. His presence also necessitates a slowdown in both the half court and transition because so much of the offense runs though him.

I said it all of last season: Of the better teams in the nation, Illinois had one of the most traditionally constructed rosters.

If Illinois wants to compete for Final Fours/National titles we need elite guard play/three point shooting and mobile athletic bigs who can guard multiple positions without switching, protect the rim, rim run, and rebound to get the guards in a position to score in transition.

And at least one of them needs to be able to stretch the defense with the ability to shoot from deep. Giorgi and Kofi just weren’t those guys. Grandison could but he’s a liability in other areas. He’s a below the rim 3 playing the 4.

If we could add Garcia, we’d have Hawkins, Garcia, and Payne filling the roles of Kofi and  Giorgi. And Grandison is back. Our guard play should be good to great next year but lack of length will be a problem unless the lengthy freshmen step up.

The key to the season might be getting something out of Hutcherson on the wing to help that out a little.

With Garcia next year’s team may not win as many games in the B1G, but would certainly have the ingredients for a deep tourney run.

I fucking loved watching Kofi play basketball for Illinois, but our blueprint should be what Baylor put on the floor this past year. I’m all in favor in continuing to move in that direction.
All good points, but:
1. I would like our tournament chances better with Kofi and a high seed than without Kofi and a 7 seed.

2. Kofi improved a ton from freshman to sophomore year, who’s to say he wouldn’t improve a lot the next year too? He doesn’t need to pull a 20’ jumper range out of his ass, he just needs to learn how to find the open shooter when he gets doubled.

The elephant in the room that never really seems to get discussed (probably for fear of the “we are better off without our best player” label) is that the team looked good and played loose when Ayo was out.

Ayo only scored his season average once after he returned, and his TO numbers spiked. Outside of the blowout layup fests against Drexel and Rutgers, he shot very poorly. He wasn’t the same player as he was before the injury.

But what were we gonna do? Not play him?
We looked very surprisingly good without Ayo, but it also seemed like we were flying by the seat of our pants a lot.  Like we were just a play or two from everything going haywire. It was fun, but having Ayo in there just made it seem like leads were more secure, and if the game was close at the end, we were going to win.

I like our chances of being good with Ayo gone, but we will miss him.

We have like 200 million J&J vaccines that are going to expire because nobody wants them. Send them to India!

That’s actually a great idea
An adult big wheel should include a cup holder. Otherwise, what’s the fucking point? The biggest advantage to the thing would be that you don’t need to be sober enough to balance.

I don't think there's a larger contingent of insufferable people sans a vegan convention than cyclists
IDK, cyclists are mostly only insufferable when they’re cycling. They are otherwise just normal people. Vegans are insufferable all the time.

Of course, conspiracy theory nuts are up there on the insufferability rankings, so don’t sit too comfortably on your high horse 😎

Science is always subject to question.

Science is rarely effectively questioned by people who have no in-depth knowledge of the subject matter, certainly not by political hacks or conspiracy theory snake oil salesmen.

You have to have a basis for questioning science, and Facebook memes, articles from Breitbart, and stuff Alex Jones says are not sufficient basis.

The key, as I understand it, is to treat stop signs like yield signs, but then fail to yield.

😂 yeH it was definitely pubs making it a political issue  😂
Non-political scientists said people should wear a mask and social distance.

Democrats said, “Hey, let’s listen to the scientists, since they are the only ones who actually know WTF they’re talking about.”

Republicans saw an opportunity to make basic human decency and simple disease prevention techniques an issue of “freedom” for political points.

Yes, it was absolutely the Republicans who made this a political issue.

Just getting back from a trip down south, and the difference was stark. Almost everywhere I went, probably 95% of black people and 80-85% of people of other non-white races were wearing masks everywhere, and probably 5-10% of white people were wearing masks when not required (and only about 75% of them were wearing masks when required).

I haven’t said this lately, but fuck Republicans for making coronavirus prevention a political issue. I don’t know whether it’s ever forgivable.

I can't read that whatever it is on my phone.

The right eagerly  wants it to be a Wuhan Lab leak. The left is concerned this would lead to attacks on innocent Asian Americans. It's political on both sides.
Exactly right. At least the left has honorable intentions with their lies, but I’d rather just have honesty.

behold, the ultramaskers

Man, what kind of fucked up perspective do you need to have to look at a pretty deadly disease and think that the people going overboard to protect themselves are the idiots, and not the people who refuse to take simple and perfectly safe steps to protect themselves?

https://www.denverpost.com/2021/05/14/suzanne-morphew-husband-election-fraud/

He offed his wife to steal her vote.  Ironic how it's always the conspiracy fringe that cheats.
Right, because you have to be fucking crazy to commit voter fraud. Who the fuck would risk jail time to cast a single fraudulent vote that means nothing in the grand scheme of things? Or what fucking illegal immigrant would risk deportation to cast a single fraudulent vote? They came thousands of miles and risked their lives to get here, and they’re going to risk everything just for one vote?
