3:25PM Kickoff
Game is at Soldier(s) Field. (So Judge Judy does not drive up to Green Bay.)
Peterman listed 2d on the depth chart.
Someone else can provide the game notes and betting odds.
Bear down, you Chicago Bears!
-
Good chance the Packers are without Christian Watson Sunday. Definite advantage for the Bears if he’s out.
-
Watson out, Doubs questionable.
-
Watson out, Doubs questionable.
What's your score pick?
-
What's your score pick?
Going with 31-27 Bears. I think both teams will score some points.
-
Going with 31-27 Bears. I think both teams will score some points.
Wow!
Aren't the Packer supposed to be ok defensively?
Boy, this is a tough one. 35-3 Bear. I just hate the Packer and want to see them crushed; logic be damned!
-
logic be damned!
Seems like a pretty common refrain.
-
Nate Davis (personal) misses practice again. WTF.
-
Game day. Let's go Bears! Because you are all we have with Bielema unable to field a team that can either block or tackle in year 3 and a basketball coach that cannot win 2 The Tournament games in the 1st weekend.
-
So, all the NFL networks guys picked the Bears to win. Kiss of death.
-
Oh boy…

-
Getting close to kickoff!
-
Let’s hurry up and gets this TB-Vikings game over. Let’s go Mayfield and the Bucs!
-
Oh boy…
https://www.si.com/nfl/steelers/news/chase-claypool-blames-pittsburgh-steelers-struggles-nfl
Maybe he was right to want out, based on how the Steeler looked today
-
Let’s go, Cardinals and Falcons.
Oh and let’s go, Bears! 🐻 ⬇️
-
Maybe he was right to want out, based on how the Steeler looked today
More than enough evidence to support the theory he’s largely responsible for his own issues.
-
Don’t be chicken shits. Let’s see some predictions!
30-23 Bears (updated)
-
Bearsssss…
-
Stupid penalty right off the bat.
-
Nice throw in the flat!
-
Same ol' stupid ass Bears starting the season with a penalty :D
-
Good thing he mastered the throws in the flat during the summer.
-
After 40+ years I think the Bears might have finally figured out how to run a screen.
-
Getsy doing dumb ass shit already
-
So Love and JFC are friendly. Would Papa Bear and Uncle Doug Buffone be ok with that?
-
After 40+ years I think the Bears might have finally figured out how to run a screen.
Bring back the bubble screen
-
No push from the OL.
-
Questionable play-calling early.
-
WTF
-
Questionable play-calling early.
We don't need to wait?
-
There’s that stupid fucking play Lunney Jr, Nagy, and now Getsy run. Dumb motherfuckers. And now a turnover on downs.
-
3 and a half minutes in ?
-
It didn't work the first time. Let's run it again!
Dumbass Getsy.
-
We don't need to wait?
It’s early, and we’ve seen questionable play-calling. What’s the point of contention?
-
A non-conversion on 4th down three mins in on the first series of the first game, I wouldn’t be too concerned about. It’s not gonna cost us the game or season for that matter.
-
That was stupid, not questionable
-
We don't need to wait?
Did I say anything about how this will come back to haunt us in January?
-
Let’s try to push it behind our beat up interior line. Brilliant. And didn’t even try to disguise it.
-
On the plus side, I like the aggressiveness. Just don’t think I’d have ran that back to back.
-
Just roll fields out and let him run it if you want to get an easy 1st.
-
Just punt it.
-
Did I say anything about how this will come back to haunt us in January?
Odds are it will haunt us in this game
-
Just roll fields out and let him run it if you want to get an easy 1st.
He is the best RB in the league… 😁
-
Gave up big play on 3rd down. Could this come back to haunt us in January?
-
He is the best RB in the league… 😁
Maybe.
-
I think Jones will put up numbers today.
-
Minus 3rd down play, Bears defense looking decent so far.
-
Defense still shit, Tempo
-
Minus 3rd down play, Bears defense looking decent so far.
What game you watching?
-
Packer should not bother passing
-
Minus 3rd down play, Bears defense looking decent so far.
You sure about that?
-
What game you watching?
Got gashed a couple times right after that comment.
-
You sure about that?
Up to that point, yes.
-
If the Packer throw the ball this half on non 3rd and long LaFleur should be fired at half.
-
Edmonds looked good there.
-
Fire Pace. This is brutal
-
Love has all fucking day.
-
Nice coverage, Eddie.
-
Maybe focus on getting linemen and less on receivers
-
Eberlose is allegedly a defensive coach.
-
They got beat by the only Packer receiver who's actually a threat today on two big 3rd downs.
-
Lol
-
I don't think this start was in the game plan.
-
Nice job Mooney!
-
Like the check down
-
Like the check down
Yeah that might have been a point of emphasis for him.
-
Eberlose is allegedly a defensive coach.
See, this is what I mean. 10 minutes into the season and PAMan is freaking out.
-
Did Nagy draw that play up?
-
FFS this O-line sucks balls.
-
Clean hit.
-
I have no problem with that hit.
-
Lot of penalties..great coaching by Eberlose!
-
Come on boys, be smart. Another dumb penalty.
-
The shiny new receiver with a bonehead shove.
-
Lot of penalties..great coaching by Eberlose!
Lol
-
The shiny new receiver with a bonehead shove.
He’s worthless! Horrible acquisition, amirite?!
-
See, this is what I mean. 10 minutes into the season and PAMan is freaking out.
Suck ass Love looks competent against this D. No bueno
-
He’s worthless! Horrible acquisition, amirite?!
When you don't have lineman, yeah
-
Suck ass Love looks competent against this D. No bueno
LMMFAO
-
Obviously Claypool's fault there....
-
That call sucked balls. WR screen on 3rd and 7. GTFOH Getsy.
-
Fire Getsy. Wtf are these 3rd down calls?
-
That call sucked balls. WR screen on 3rd and 7. GTFOH Getsy.
Seems like they are scared to throw downfield in obvious passing situations. Wonder why....
-
Obviously Claypool's fault there....
That was on the Steelers IMO.
-
That call sucked balls. WR screen on 3rd and 7. GTFOH Getsy.
John Shoop is smiling somewhere.
-
Good drive derailed by lack of discipline and play-calling.
-
John Shoop is smiling somewhere.
It’s a great play if you have Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.
-
Thankfully LaFleur on the other sidelines
-
That was on the Steelers IMO.
Good point
-
Hold.
-
Give it up for the D that drive, fellas.
-
DL getting some penetration finally.
-
Seems like they are scared to throw downfield in obvious passing situations. Wonder why....
FFS. Let the narrative machine crank on.
-
DoctorintheFlat must be calling all the plays
-
Throw the ball down the fucking field!!!!!
-
C’mon…
-
This is John Shoop shit.
-
FFS. Let the narrative machine crank on.
Please provide the rationale for the screen then.
-
Throw the ball down the fucking field!!!!!
And preferably to the #1 receiver you traded draft capital for.
-
Please provide the rationale for the screen then.
Whatever it is, it’s clearly Fields’ fault.
-
You guys are hilarious....
-
Whatever it is, it’s clearly Fields’ fault.
Getting warmer....
-
Please provide the rationale for the screen then.
Provide the rationale for sneaking it twice behind an OL that isn’t strong up the middle. I think Getsy is a pussy, is what I’m seeing. John Shoop level pussy.
-
Getting warmer....
Rule #1. It’s ALWAYS Justin Fields’ fault.
-
If you want to be a good coordinator in the NFL you gotta have a pair. I’m not seeing that from Getsy so far.
-
Another pussy call. JFC.
-
God bless Fields for being a dynamic runner.
-
You can’t teach that scramble, but man, he needs to throw the fucking ball downfield. There’s a reason why Getsy isn’t calling it. Trust me, what coordinator wouldn’t wanna throw the fucking ball?! Think about it…
-
I really hate it when Fields turns sacks into 1st downs.
-
Hit him in stride!
-
I really hate it when Fields turns sacks into 1st downs.
Nobody said that…
-
Hey good things happen when you target your #1 receiver.
-
And THIS is what we need. Throws in front of the line of scrimmage!
-
Oh look, a perfect strike across the middle. JFC can’t throw. That’s why Getsy is a pussy.
-
Nobody said that…
PAMan has all but said it.
-
I really hate it when Fields turns sacks into 1st downs.
Nice run but it looked like he had a guy open in front of him and didn't throw it
-
There is an unblocked Packer every play.
-
Nice run but it looked like he had a guy open in front of him and didn't throw it
I’m sure it did.
-
At least he is hitting opposing players in the head with passes. That's an improvement over last year.
-
Iffy throw but that should have been PI.
-
I’m sure it did.
Sure did from that end zone view
-
I didn’t see anyone that looked open.
-
I'm trying to watch the game but is it just me or is the NFL just so boring and slow and full of commercials
-
I didn’t see anyone that looked open.
Shocker
-
Iffy throw but that should have been PI.
I just rewatched it. Kmet was straight up grabbed well before the ball got there.
-
How many passes will be completed this game that are thrown 8 yards over the line of scrimmage?
-
Shocker
See any separation anywhere?

Not that play. The one where he ran for 10 yards

Where is the other side of the field?
-
Where is the other side of the field?
That’s the entire end zone.
-
Looks like pass blocking hasn’t gotten better.
-
Love had all day there.
-
Minus giving up two 3rd and longs the defense has been alright.
-
There you go. Now let’s get a touchdown. Ooh they are going for it.
-
Bluff.
-
Can we stop with the pussy ass misdirection shit and run some power football and play-action?
-
Get to see Fields run a two-minute drill. Let’s see these throws!
-
Our interior line can’t move anyone.
-
Lucas Patrick completely whiffed on his man.
-
Can’t remember the last time I completely forgot about NFL Red Zone for an entire half of a Bears game.
-
Throw the fucking ball downfield!!!!!!!!
-
John Fucking Shoop.
-
John Fucking Shoop.
He’s not doing it for no reason…
-
That’s the entire end zone.
Didn't look like it
-
The sideline to sideline shit has been a killer. They can’t even execute it.
-
Didn't look like it
You can see three Bears in the end zone. All wearing Packers.
-
You can’t teach that scramble, but man, he needs to throw the fucking ball downfield. There’s a reason why Getsy isn’t calling it. Trust me, what coordinator wouldn’t wanna throw the fucking ball?! Think about it…
Tempo…
-
turned this crap off, I got better things to do like watch the paint dry
-
Tempo…
So you like the pass blocking so far?
-
You can see three Bears in the end zone. All wearing Packers.
Where is the NFC emblem on the far side? No one ever by there?
-
He’s not doing it for no reason…
Tempo care to answer why or elaborate on maybe why Getsy is going sideline to sideline…
-
This is looking too much like last year.
-
Tempo…
If you want to say Fields could look better, fine. Don’t lay all of this at the feet of Fields. The line can’t block anyone, run or pass. The play-calling is uninspired and poorly executed.
-
Tempo care to answer why or elaborate on maybe why Getsy is going sideline to sideline…
Because JFC does not call the plays....
-
Tempo care to answer why or elaborate on maybe why Getsy is going sideline to sideline…
I’m sure it’s Fields’ fault.
-
Because JFC does not call the plays....
True. In typical fashion, you guys are letting Luke Shoop off the hook.
-
Love the only guy who has completed a pass more than 5 yards over the LOS.
-
Where is the power run game? Play-action?
-
Love the only guy who has completed a pass more than 5 yards over the LOS.
Not exactly accurate.
-
True. I’m typical fashion, you guys are letting Luke Shoop off the hook.
Who can blame him for protecting Fields' rep with The Twitter and Score Gang?
-
Who can blame him for protecting Fields' rep with The Twitter and Score Gang?
Fuck off, troll.
-
Not exactly accurate.
Exactly is an odd word in that sentence
-
Fuck off, troll.
I speak The Truth!
-
Getsy calls back to back sneaks in his own territory. Bears unable to block it up. “Everything is Fields’ fault!”
-
I speak The Truth!
According to your weird ass narratives. You literally have an unassailable narrative for every situation.
-
I speak The Truth!
I see what you did there.
-
Look, Getsy is playing to Fields’ strengths obviously. And throwing downfield obviously isn’t one of them or else he would be calling that. What coordinator wouldn’t wanna be able to do that. I’m a Fields supporter, but it’s pretty obvious why he’s doing it.
-
Let’s just say he doesn’t trust his QB to throw it downfield…
-

OBVIOUSLY. And they also can’t block.
-
Let’s just say he doesn’t trust his QB to throw it downfield…
At all possible he doesn’t trust his OLine to block it up? Thus all the misdirection?
-
Let’s just say he doesn’t trust his QB to throw it downfield…
So you liked the back to back sneak calls is what you’re saying?
-
So you liked the back to back sneak calls is what you’re saying?
Nope. Never said that.
-
At all possible he doesn’t trust his OLine to block it up? Thus all the misdirection?
A good QB that could throw slants and quick passes would overcome that. It’s been seen time and time again in the NFL.
-
A good QB that could throw slants and quick passes would overcome that. It’s been seen time and time again in the NFL.
I saw a nice one on the scoring drive. Don’t think I saw it called again.
-
I'm trying to watch the game but is it just me or is the NFL just so boring and slow and full of commercials
Are you not excited for the return of Kitchen Nightmares?
-
Bears have outplayed GB according to the stats. A couple of big 3rd conversions for GB killed the Bears.
-
Also Fields has been sacked one time (Love once as well). One freaking time. Come on man.
-
Also Fields has been sacked one time (Love once as well). One freaking time. Come on man.
He’s been pressured multiple times.
-
1 for 6 on 3rd down. An obvious passing down they aren’t accomplishing…
-
Pretty much agree. Get the ball to DJ. Stop calling pussy ass screens.
(https://i.postimg.cc/cLP8vwZh/IMG-4802.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/VJBNTSJ0)
-
Packers didn’t utilize Jones enough 1st half IMO.
-
What’s the point of having WRs if you don’t get them the ball?! Oh… Blocking! 💡
See, look what Love did to Aaron Jones! Great WR blocking!!
-
And there he goes…
-
Hold them to 3.
-
Hold them to 3.
Prolly not this time.
-
If someone gets a TD let it be Jones.
-
If someone gets a TD let it be Jones.
You got your wish
-
Another year, another Bears defense that can’t stop the run
-
Maybe try a defensive scheme that isn't outdated?
-
Ok, year 3, let Fields start slinging it. If he sucks, reset in the draft this year. Take the fucking training wheels off, I’m sick of this shit!
-
That unblocked Packer clearly was Fields’ fault.
-
Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
That’s fucking sucks!!!!!
We’re getting punked. Throw the fucking ball!!!
-
That unblocked Packer clearly was Fields’ fault.
Nobody said that either…
-
Greg Olsen just said the Bears can’t pass protect.
-
Nobody said that either…
You didn’t have to.
-
Need a defensive score to change the game here.
That's been the Bears way since the beginning of time.
-
Pretty much agree. Get the ball to DJ. Stop calling pussy ass screens.
(https://i.postimg.cc/cLP8vwZh/IMG-4802.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/VJBNTSJ0)
The defense looks great? Who is this fucking moron?
-
You didn’t have to, because it’s Fields’ fault they won’t throw it downfield. Duh.
-
The defense looks great? Who is this fucking moron?
They gave up 100 yards in the first half.
-
That unblocked Packer clearly was Fields’ fault.
Packer schemed to ignore the play action and not go up the line for the fake?
-
They gave up 100 yards in the first half.
In part because Love missed some wide open guys or they tripped, etc.
-
You didn’t have to, because it’s Fields’ fault they won’t throw it downfield. Duh.
Judge Judy gets it. You refuse to and continue to proceed with your narrative.
-
Eberlose is such a great defensive coach. But I'm a troll. Hilarious
-
Packer schemed to ignore the play action and not go up the line for the fake?
The sack on the bootleg the play before.
-
That's game.
Same old fucking song against the Packers.
-
Eberlose is such a great defensive coach. But I'm a troll. Hilarious
Reactionary idiot is also a strong possibility.
-
The sack on the bootleg the play before.
So they are maintaining their lanes?
-
Welp, one would think no choice but to throw it downfield now.
-
Reactionary idiot is also a strong possibility.
I think you have been living off your Mack Trade Analysis!
Eberlose sucks!
-
Welp, one would think no choice but to throw it downfield now.
Which will probably lead to a few picks but who gives a fuck at this point
-
Welp, one would think no choice but to throw it downfield now.
You would think they would play a soft prevent style defense and give up the underneath throws.
-
Down 18 and getting the running game going 😂
-
I think you have been living off your Mack Trade Analysis!
Eberlose sucks!
“I can’t understand why the first time HC who had almost nothing to work his rookie year hasn’t built a championship defense 2/3rds of the way through game one his second year!” - ThePAMan
-
He had TONS of time to throw there and fumbles the shit!
-
Throw the fucking ball Fields!!!!
-
Wow, a gain up the middle. This is progress.
-
He won’t throw it and hangs in to it too long.
-
Throw the fucking ball Fields!!!!
LMMFAO
Getsy getting the run game juiced.
-
“I can’t understand why the first time HC who had almost nothing to work his rookie year hasn’t built a championship defense 2/3rds of the way through game one his second year!” - ThePAMan
I'll take a defense. This is not a defense. This is suck ass bullshit from a shitty coach.
And yes, I'm sure Getsy doesn't trust Fields or the line to throw the ball downfield
-
Can’t defend Fields there…
-
And shit ass Eberlose had guys to work with before they traded them.
-
Keep in mind the coaches had months to come up with a plan for this game.
If this is the best Eberflus and his staff can do in year 2, they all might want to look for employment elsewhere.
-
Keep in mind the coaches had months to come up with a plan for this game.
If this is the best Eberflus and his staff can do in year 2, they all might want to look for employment elsewhere.
We don't need to wait until January? We can make decisions based on the body of work to date?
-
Would be an amazing time to start building Fields’ comeback win rèsumè.
-
And shit ass Eberlose had guys to work with before they traded them.
Lol. You will NEVER get it.
-
Keep in mind the coaches had months to come up with a plan for this game.
If this is the best Eberflus and his staff can do in year 2, they all might want to look for employment elsewhere.
JFC you guys are bipolar.
-
Would be an amazing time to start building Fields’ comeback win rèsumè.
Shit, he’s gotta show/prove he can even pass first.
-
How about we that fancy new WR into the game plan?
-
Shit, he’s gotta show/prove he can even pass first.
You guys can’t even muster an ounce of optimism…
-
Another run straight up the middle. Oops, negated with a hold and -10 yards.
-
Shit, he’s gotta show/prove he can even pass first.
Again, no mention of the line play.
Holding brings back a nice run by Roshown.
-
THROW.THE.FUCKING.BALL.DOWNFIELD.NO.THREE.YARDS.ISN’T.DOWNFIELD!
-
There was a pass 5 yards over the LOS
-
Johnson making a fucking statement! Wow!
-
Ok, ok. I’m liking the last couple of plays.
-
They running to too much.
-
About fucking time! Take the training wheels off now damnit!
-
They found the endzone!
-
Oh, look. Maybe Fields can pass downfield just a bit.
-
Another nice pass. Play some fucking D
-
Johnson making a fucking statement! Wow!
May have turned around the whole season
-
Still down 10, still a lot of work to do. He’s not THE Savior yet…
-
About fucking time! Take the training wheels off now damnit!
Agreed. Fields isn’t perfect, but they have to stop babying him and the offense.
That drive was big boy football. We might have a game just yet. Need the defense to keep it going.
-
Still down 10, still a lot of work to do. He’s not THE Savior yet…
Can’t we enjoy the moment for just a minute before we “yeah but” him?
-
May have turned around the whole season
Hahahahahahahaha this is a bit, right?
-
Shit, can’t afford these penalties.
-
Wow, Eddie Jackson met a guy at the line of scrimmage.
-
JFC you guys are bipolar.
Seems like you are on your own island here. Tempo Island! Nothing erroneous about Miles' comment.
-
Hahahahahahahaha this is a bit, right?
They have played some inspired football since then, no?
-
I sure hope Getsy doesn’t kill the clock with too much runs. They need
quick strikes (if and when they get it back).
-
Wow, Eddie Jackson met a guy at the line of scrimmage.
Inspired by Johnson running guys over!
-
Wide open and no pressure. But DJ Moore!
-
They have played some inspired football since then, no?
Yep. “Saved the season.”
-
3rd down pass defense sucks.
-
And another guy wide open.
Unbelievable
-
Fucking Bears, man shake my head
-
Packers held…
-
Got away with an obvious hold.
-
Yep. “Saved the season.”
May have. Does not look like it did since Eberlose likes to scheme defenses that leave guys wide open
-
Love doing all this without Watson too. 3TDs today outplaying Fields.
-
Love doing all this without Watson too. 3TDs today outplaying Fields.
Love doesn't call the plays.
-
Fields about got Claypool killed
-
Pick 6 can't be Fields' fault
-
And pick 6…
-
Ouch…
-
Fields about got Claypool killed
Pass did hit him in the hands!
-
Let’s hope the rest of the season goes better than today. Doesn’t look like he’s the QB of the future.
-
Line gave him too much time
-
Year 3 and still staring down receivers.
Maybe less Scriptures and buying the opposing QB's mom tickets next offseason and more work on QB fundamentals.
-
Line gave him too much time
Without that time he would not be able to stare down receivers.
-
Darnell Wright about killed the guy who intercepted it at the goal line too wow😳
-
Pick 6 can't be Fields' fault
No one ever made the case he was perfect. But if you think this is ALL his fault you’re delusional.
-
Remember when the Bears were going to stop being Green Bay's bitch because they didn't have Rodgers anymore?
Well..about that...
-
Remember when the Bears were going to stop being Green Bay's bitch because they didn't have Rodgers anymore?
Well..about that...
Love > Fields
-
No one ever made the case he was perfect. But if you think this is ALL his fault you’re delusional.
Poles, Pace, Getsy, Eberlose, yeah, plenty of blame including the QB who stares down receivers when he finally gets some time.
-
Love > Fields
If Love ends up being a HOF QB, I think that'll be it for me watching football.
-
Throw the ball!!! He has plenty of time there!
-
We will never get the proper calls. Especially against GB.

Fucking clown show.
Glad they tanked for that draft.
-
Fucking clown show.
Glad they tanked for that draft.
Game one of year two! “Why aren’t they Super Bowl caliber yet!”
-
Fucking clown show.
Glad they tanked for that draft.
Fields does not draft the guys or trade for WRs instead of linemen.
-
Just get Fields some downfield practice rest of game.
-
Game one of year two! “Why aren’t they Super Bowl caliber yet!”
Nobody is saying that. They look terrible.
-
He had plenty of time there to throw too
-
You guys are hilarious. Hilariously impatient.
-
Game one of year two! “Why aren’t they Super Bowl caliber yet!”
Tempo. You realize Love is not as good as he has looked today, right?
-
Game one of year two! “Why aren’t they Super Bowl caliber yet!”
I didn’t say that, you fucking moron.
-
Fields has to dump that off to Moore crossing the middle.
-
You guys are hilarious. Hilariously impatient.
I don’t see either line improving anytime soon.
Hell, by the time they have a decent OL, Fields will be dead.
-
I didn’t say that, you fucking moron.
Ok, but you do realize they are one game removed the the tank, right?
-
Game one of year two! “Why aren’t they Super Bowl caliber yet!”
No one is saying that. We did want to see a team that looked prepared and looked like they were at least thinking about taking that next leap after the additions they made in the offseason. We didn't get that obviously.
-
I don’t see either line improving anytime soon.
Hell, by the time they have a decent OL, Fields will be dead.
You may be correct here.
-
Ok, but you do realize they are one game removed the the tank, right?
Yes, and I also realize they are getting slaughtered at home by a Packer team that isn’t good.
-
Ok, but you do realize they are one game removed the the tank, right?
Looks like they are still tanking. Which is why they were not in a hurry to fix the QB position as I told you via text yesterday
-
No one is saying that. We did want to see a team that looked prepared and looked like they were at least thinking about taking that next leap after the additions they made in the offseason. We didn't get that obviously.
I don’t think most of the game was that bad. Not as bad as the score indicates anyway. Things just kind of snowballed IMO. Up until 30 minutes ago they weren’t disastrous. But they were too conservative on offense.
-
It’s unbelievable how much Fields looks like he’s not the guy to play QB though in year 3. Love looks light years ahead of him already and so did some of the rookie QB’s today even. Like what the fuck?!
-
Yes, and I also realize they are getting slaughtered at home by a Packer team that isn’t good.
One would think the Fields Merrimen would understand that part of the anger here.
-
I’m not a huge fan of multiple designed runs by Fields but I’d rather see that than screen play after screen play.
-
No one is saying that. We did want to see a team that looked prepared and looked like they were at least thinking about taking that next leap after the additions they made in the offseason. We didn't get that obviously.
Absolutely

I understand the dissatisfaction of your inner meatball.

A common refrainfor 100 years or so.
-
Throw the ball!!!! He won’t throw it!!!! He’s scared!!!
-

I wanted to see that, too. If they get boatraced next week I might get a little panicky too.
-
Why aren't these receivers getting open???,
-
I mean look we can bitch about Fields, Eberflus, Getsy, the lines, whatever.
There is one vile stench that has permeated around this organization for decades:
The cheap, old fucks that own the team. Nothing will change until they finally croak.
-
I understand the dissatisfaction of your inner meatball.
There is nothing meatball about that. Lol
-
Fucking throw it!!!

This has to be a bit and you are trolling us. There is no way you could have watched this game and came to these conclusions.

Yes! Yes! Let your meatballiness take over!

Check down, check down, check down, run, run, run, check down, run

This has got to be the easiest offense to defend. Just load the box and spy the QB

Throw it downfield, Justin. Fuck…
Meatball

What the fuck do you think we’ve all been saying the past 2 seasons?!

What the fuck do you think we’ve all been saying the past 2 seasons?!
This is one of the rare occasions he’s able to just drop back multiple times and let it rip.
-
This has been a bad effort across the board. Fucking coaches need to own this as well.
-
This is one of the rare occasions he’s able to just drop back multiple times and let it rip.
He can go 10/10 and it doesn’t mean shit because the defense is literally giving him every single check down.
He doesn’t let it rip, he literally hangs on to the ball and won’t throw the fucker! He’s scared.
-
Running the fucking ball down 24.
-
This has been a bad effort across the board. Fucking coaches need to own this as well.
What happened to Darth Vader and all that shit???
-
Running the fucking ball down 24.
It because fields can’t pass, man
-
He can go 10/10 and it doesn’t mean shit because the defense is literally giving him every single check down.
It’s still rare he gets a chance to establish a rhythm. Play-calling was very disjointed in this game IMO. And it usually is.

Ok

I’m not even capitalizing his name anymore. Fuck it.

Not impressed with the way they are just waving the white flag the last few minutes.
-
You think Getsy doesn’t wanna throw?! Think he puts his career and future on the line to do this?!
He needs 3 to 5 more years with Fields....
-
You forgot this already?
No. I don’t like the way they are laying down. That was a recent development.
-
I’m also not writing off Poles and Eberflus, based off this one game. But they need to step in front of the microphone and own this piss poor performance.
-
He needs 3 to 5 more years with Fields....
Or 3-5 years away from each other.
-
No. I don’t like the way they are laying down. That was a recent development.
Last year doesn't count ?
-
How long until DJ Moore checks out?
-
I’m also not writing off Poles and Eberflus, based off this one game. But they need to step in front of the microphone and own this piss poor performance.
Looks like they are tanking again.
Maybe LeFleur will praise Eberlose for his culture in the post game handshake....
-
How long until DJ Moore checks out?
Was he on the field for more than 2 plays?
-
The game was closer than the final score.
-
The game was closer than the final score.
LOL

Last year doesn't count ?
No, because that was part of the plan.
-
For those digging deep enough for a bright spot, the Panthers lost.
-
How long until DJ Moore checks out?
Panic!
-
For those digging deep enough for a bright spot, the Panthers lost.
That is a bright spot.
-
I didn’t like the way Fields was checking down, but I also didn’t like that they’re still running the ball down 24. Fucking work on some shit. JFC.
-
The game was closer than the final score.
That’s not exactly what I said, but it was a competitive game until late in the 3rd or so.
-
Joe Burrow threw for 82 yards and scored 3 points. Panic!
-
According to Yahoo, DJ Moore only had two targets. That is infuckingexcusable.
-
According to Yahoo, DJ Moore only had two targets. That is infuckingexcusable.
The other team's defense knows he is out there and that the QB will not throw the ball unless a guy is wide open by 4 yards.
I guess he has something in common with Claypool now.
-
Joe Burrow threw for 82 yards and scored 3 points. Panic!
Burrow is not Justin Fields and the Brown are not the rebuilding Packer.
-
I didn’t like the way Fields was checking down, but I also didn’t like that they’re still running the ball down 24. Fucking work on some shit. JFC.
Remember how they worked on throwing the ball down the field in the preseason? Yeah, I don't either.
-
Remember how they worked on throwing the ball down the field in the preseason? Yeah, I don't either.
I agreed with you. I thought Fields and the first team should have played more.
If I were Poles I’d be scouring the earth for a Center. And maybe an OC. I’m not convinced Getsy is up to the job.
-
Pretty piss poor effort from a “running team.”
(https://i.postimg.cc/SxVt8v9G/IMG-4809.jpg) (https://postimages.org/)
And for sure some of that is on the line.
-
I agreed with you. I thought Fields and the first team should have played more.

I recall you agreed. This is all part of Eberlose's body of work upon which may overreactions are based.
-
Does anybody have a link to the post game speech from the coaches?!
-
To make it worse, Jalen Carter looked like a beast today for the Eagles…
-
Does anybody have a link to the post game speech from the coaches?!
No, but it sounds like Fields was willing to spread the blame postgame.
-
No, but it sounds like Fields was willing to spread the blame postgame.
I do like that Fields faces the scrutiny and blames himself. He takes 100% accountability and I like that type of character.
-
Garbage organization. Wash, rinse, repeat. Week one isn’t even in the books yet and the season is basically over.
-
To make it worse, Jalen Carter looked like a beast today for the Eagles…
But we got a (late) draft pick for a guy we didn’t want.
-
Does anybody have a link to the post game speech from the coaches?!
I’d love to hear Getsy explain all those bad screen plays, and why they didn’t get the ball to DJ Moore more than twice.
-
Garbage organization. Wash, rinse, repeat. Week one isn’t even in the books yet and the season is basically over.
Lol
-
Interested to see how/if they rebound next week. If they come out and look bad again, it’s fair to start worrying a bit. If they get a win, it’ll bolster my confidence in Flus. I want to see if Flus learns from his mistakes. I think I saw a few hints last year that he does. Need a larger body of work with a real roster (presumably this one), though.
If I were Poles id be digging under rocks to find a Center. Lucas Patrick is terrible.
-
Anyway, what really irked me at the last is when Getsy and Fields seemed content to let the clock run out the last 3.5 minutes. You had every chance to air it out, and they’re dinking and dunking and running the ball. JFC run a play. I get that the line sucks, but man, gotta try something.
Collinsworth said tonight that every team should throw a deep ball “at least once a quarter.” I don’t think we threw anything that qualified as a deep ball the entire game.
Same frustration I had under Shoop. I get that the offense is struggling, but JFC at least try something.

https://www.the33rdteam.com/category/analysis/2023-nfl-week-1-time-is-running-out-for-bears-justin-fields/
For one, Fields was barely asked to throw the ball down the field. Fields’ average depth of target (3.7) and average yards to the sticks (-6.7) were both the second lowest in the league through the afternoon slate of games.
***
So many of Getsy’s calls are intended to protect Fields from himself. For instance, many of their drive starters didn’t ask Fields to do a whole lot.
***
Right or wrong, Getsy wanted to guarantee three points instead of seeing what Fields could do. It says a lot about the quarterback when a play-caller effectively surrenders on a gettable third-down situation within scoring range.
It’s not hard to understand why the offense is still so baby-proofed, considering how Fields played on Sunday.
Fields didn’t at all look to have sped up his processing and decision-making. Not only did Fields finish with a 2.95-second time-to-throw average — the fifth-highest in the league so far — but he regularly held onto the ball for an eternity before ultimately scrambling.
***
Fields struggled all last season with triggering on throws unless they were completely wide open, and it doesn’t look like anything’s changed if the Packers game is any indication.
Same Old Problems
The same is true of Fields’ ball placement. Fields’ best throws are as tantalizing as it gets, but the more time passes, the more those throws feel like a siren song. The down-to-down accuracy still isn’t there. Per Next Gen Stats, Fields’ completion percentage over expectation was -7.2 percent against the Packers, the sixth-worst among the 28 quarterbacks who played before Sunday night.
The concern isn’t that Fields played poorly. It’s that Fields played poorly in the same exact ways we’ve seen him play poorly before.
-
Have no clue who that guy is, for whatever it is worth.

He’s spot on though.

He’s spot on though.
Certainly seems that way, especially given the play calling.
-
He’s spot on though.
He probably watched the game instead of just looking at the "Field's best throws are as tantalizing as it gets" highlight.
It was a nice pass to Moore.
-
It’s funny how you guys bend over backwards to defend Gutless, I mean Getsy. Ever consider that Getsy is in over his head? It’s not like we haven’t seen coaches that were in over their head in Chicago before.
Crowton, Shoop, Juron, Terry Shea, Matt Nagy, Marc Trestman. And those are just recent ones off the top of my head. It’s always a possibility Gutless, I mean Getsy is an example of the Peter Principle here.
-
Have no clue who that guy is, for whatever it is worth.
Yet he’s an acceptable source unlike the 20 I offered before. Lol

Who the hell on here was defending Getsy? Criticism of the QB does not equal defending Getsy. I didn't see anything positive said about him in here yesterday.
This was a total failure. From the top down. I do agree with you on that.
-
Yet he’s an acceptable source unlike the 20 I offered before. Lol
The other 20 were proven, again, to be frauds yesterday. He had tons of time to throw and still checked down. Can you fathom that maybe Fields is also gutless?
-

Literally all of the criticism here is directed at Fields. I literally can’t think of a single instance where anyone has given Gutless (and rarely the line) any blame. Just heard Fields was pressured on 53% of his drops and that the line graded out very poorly on PFF. Lucas Patrick and Nate Davis the worst. Surprise, surprise. I wonder if Lucas Patrick and Gutless are lovers, and that’s why Gutless brought him here.
-

Reread the thread. There's plenty of Getsy criticism.

I’ll take your word for it. But the overwhelming narrative here is that “they don’t trust Fields so we’re stuck doing this.” Which is utter bullshit.
If you didn’t trust Fields they should have traded him. And they wouldn’t have traded for DJ Moore. Which were points brought up on Parkins and Spiegel.
-

Come on. This "analysis" completely ignores the possibility that they fell for all the hype (shame on them) and traded for Moore expecting Fields to improve in the offseason from year 2 to 3 (when he was not at the Bulls game) and they now realize (when they are not practicing 7-on-7) he did not do so. Ergo, they do not trust him and now have some explosive receivers waiting for bubble screens and expected to block.
I seriously doubt there were teams that would trade for him for whatever the Bear were asking for given the hype. Everyone can see that he cannot read the field or make decisions quick enough.
You Merrymen are running out of excuses.
-
Lol the GM and coaches are “victims of the hype machine.” The list of narratives for the PAMan expands at the same rate of the Universe.

You are flat out wrong. There are absolutely teams that would have traded for Fields. What the return would have been is debatable. This is about as ignorant a take as you’ve ever had, and that’s quite a feat.
-
What the return would have been is debatable.
Seems to be the most important caveat in the rest of your screed and supports the possibility presented.
-
Lol the GM and coaches are “victims of the hype machine.” The list of narratives for the PAMan expands at the same rate of the Universe.
Were there any leaks out of Halas Hall tempering expectations for him or for this year? Nope. Yet the Fields Hype Train rolled on all summer, as you well documented here.
-
Seems to be the most important caveat in the rest of your screed and supports the possibility presented.
WTF does that even mean? If they didn’t believe in Fields, they should have traded him. If Trey Lance brought SF a 4th rounder, the Bears would have gotten at least that, easily.
-

“Poles and the coaches fell victim to the hype!” Add it to the list of PAMan classics.
-
WTF does that even mean? If they didn’t believe in Fields, they should have traded him. If Trey Lance brought SF a 4th rounder, the Bears would have gotten at least that, easily.
The point is that they maybe they tried and could not get what they wanted. Maybe they wanted more than a 4th?
You do not think that would be a tough sell to the fan base given all the spooging that has been done about Fields?
-
“Poles and the coaches fell victim to the hype!” Add it to the list of PAMan classics.
Sometimes you overvalue your own players. See it all the time. It happens.
You did not dispute my comments on the lack of leaks. The expectations coming into this season is why everyone is losing their shit right now.

Everyone can see that he cannot read the field or make decisions quick enough.
This is the key. Ding ding ding

The first thing Poles did was trade Khalil Mack. I don’t think he gives a shit about popularity contests. You’re reaching here. Big time. The Bears could have easily traded Fields. I guarantee you the Falcons would have give up at least a 2nd rounder for him. At a minimum.
-
A third of the fanbase wants Fields ejected today.
-
Then he traded a popular Roquan Smith when many fans were screaming they needed to lock him up.

Everyone knew Mack was done here at the time they traded him.
The Falcons were not going to give up a second, when they already got fleeced for Calvin Ridley, for a guy who could not beat out Jake Fromm at Georgia.
You are trolling me now.

Everyone knows Fields needs a ton of work. Not everyone is a Twitter Idiot who thinks he is awesome. And he could not beat Fromm out, could he? Tell me where I am wrong factually.

Yeah, says a lot, doesn't it.
-
Fromm was a freshman All-American by the way. And has been in the NFL since leaving college. Not exactly a scrub. I’m sure Fromm had a year or two experience on Fields.
-
Fields could not beat out a guy who was an entrenched starter and freshman All-America (and SEC FOY), what a bum.

Which means he’s one of the best in the world at what he does. How many college QBs play in the NFL? Less than 1% I’m guessing.

I can only assume he’s referring to my “this is an organizational loss” comment? Opening the door to the possibility that Poles might not have done enough to upgrade the lines, the coaches did a bad job preparing them for opening week, and the players playing poorly is dramatically different from “The Bears are a trash organization and will never be worth following because…McCaskeys…” are very different concepts.
And these guys are lawyers? Lawyerin’ must not be as hard as I thought.

Up to that point, who the hell didn’t want Roquan back? He was pretty easily our best player.

Missing on Custard is one thing, thinking downfield passes are not part of an NFL game plan because the post-game song and dance was short was a big part of the game plan is a different level.

There is accountability to go around. And that includes Fields. I’ve never tried to absolve him of all blame. He needs to be better as well.

This is the one and last time I plan on engaging you today. Did Fields miss a couple of opportunities? I’m sure he did. Was the play-calling and game plan largely shit? Yes, it was. Getsy could do more to help Fields, and Fields could do more to help Fields. Both statements can be true.
-

That's not the issue. One of many issues you specifically called out Getsy on was for not having plays where the ball was to be thrown downfield. That has been proven to be patently untrue and that Fields was checking down on plays where guys were open downfield. Your guys Parkins and Grote said so. Your guy Everlose said so. You are the one who has never recanted on that issue. That is what this is about.
-
“Enough.” I’m sure there were a couple of opportunities, and they weren’t many. Again, we expect him to be perfect. He needs volume and aggressive coaching. The screen shit and no running is Nagy/Trubisky shit. And that was gutless.
-
SMDH.
-
Again, it’s hard to play at a high level when the coaching and play around you is sub-standard. Fucking Matt Stafford was viewed as an underachieving loser until he got to the Rams. Now he’s he’s close to a slam dunk HOFer.
-
The best way to get out of a slump it is to shoot your way out of it. He needs more VOLUME. And he needs Getsy to let him be himself.
-
As I’ve said 1,000 times, Fields is not blameless. But courage isn’t something he lacks, I’m pretty confident of that.
-
Fields needs volume. In a real scheme. Not super run heavy, not screen pass heavy; but encourage him to rip it down the field. Quite frankly he needs to take some lumps if need be. That game plan Sunday is not the way.
-
And let him run. It keeps the chains moving, and keeps his confidence up. How is that a bad thing? Allen and Hurts have made a career of it.
-
I started and ran my own non-law firm business for ~10 years. Then I sold it and went to work for the company that bought it.

“Again, we expect him to be perfect.

-
Who are these "we" people ?
I'm halfway through the video. "We" just need Fields to be competent because there are plays that are open and he fucks around. Granted, he may not expect the plays to work since a ton of the plays are incompetently drawn up.
-
I started and ran my own non-law firm business for ~10 years. Then I sold it and went to work for the company that bought it.
Tempo, Custard started an escort service for all the right reasons (what wrong reasons could there be?), where he set up shop at the top of Four Seasons before he sold it.

Claypool continues his history of being a dickhead. Again, I hated this trade.

Tempo, Custard started an escort service for all the right reasons (what wrong reasons could there be?), where he set up shop at the top of Four Seasons before he sold it.
As awkward as it is, I’m sure there’s a joke in there somewhere.

Good chance the Packers are without Christian Watson Sunday. Definite advantage for the Bears if he’s out.
But the Bear had soooooo many injuries in training camp!
-
Going with 31-27 Bears. I think both teams will score some points.
But you knew the Bear had sooooooo many injuries in the preseason!
-
Don’t be chicken shits. Let’s see some predictions!
30-23 Bears (updated)
But but but the injuries!!
-
Minus 3rd down play, Bears defense looking decent so far.
But they couldn't practice in the preseason!
-
Looks like pass blocking hasn’t gotten better.
What about the inability to play together in preseason due to injuries?
-

Dipshittery.

I’ll bet finishing in the preseason with only 2 starters didn’t help…
-
3rd down pass defense sucks.
Zero mention of injuries so far....
-
Tempo was optimistic about the Bear going into a new season, and he was WRONG! What a dipshit!
This coming from a guy that predicted 13 wins and a SB. Can’t make this level of dipshittery up.
-
Zero mention of injuries so far....
If you could read, I said it took me a while to grasp the scope of the injuries and the difficulty of incorporating 30 new players under those conditions. Tempo BTC! What a dipshit! #NoExcuses!
-
Ok, but you do realize they are one game removed the the tank, right?
Page 20 of the game thread and not one single injuries excuse out of Tempo.

LOL.
Some projection at its finest.
What a sap you are falling for this save-his
