I think the Eagles are the more complete team. But Chiefs have Mahomes. Eagles 27-23. Although I hope it’s Eagles 40 Chiefs 0.
-
More deep thoughts.
-
Speaking of deep thoughts, I wonder if ESPN has commented on anything besides Mahomes and future first-ballot HOF player Jalen Hurts. I think they had a short piece about KC's injured WRs, but other than that ...
-
Eagles 28 Chiefs 23
-
Few things in sports make me happier than watching Chiefs fans cry. Hope j get the opportunity to see that today.

Maybe your hero, Jalen Hurts, will be the MVP.

Chiefs better tighten it up or this will be a blowout.
-
So much for dat.
-
Justin Fields needs a guy that can do that.
-
This would be a burgeoning blowout if not for that fumble return. Mahomes has barely been on the field.
-
Stupid penalty there by the Chiefs.
-
Have a feeling Mahomes is gonna tie this up before half.
-
I think this game is over. It’s a blowout already if not for the fumble return.
-
Tom Thayer compared the Eagles to the 85 Bears and they look pretty good tonight.
-
Have a feeling Mahomes is gonna tie this up before half.
Well I was wrong about that lol
-
Man, Davonta Smith is like a stick figure.
-
A.J. Brown is built like a brick shit house.
-
I think this game is over. It’s a blowout already if not for the fumble return.
Yeah, don’t count Mahomes out. Ever.
-
That’s a fumble!
-
Bullshit
-
Probably should be a fumble, but no “football move,” whatever that is.
-
Yeah, don’t count Mahomes out. Ever.
Philly made that 2nd half opening drive way too easy for KC.
-
How are they just realizing today the field surface sucks?
-
So much for the Eagles being the ‘85 Bears. This defense is getting pushed around.
-
How are they just realizing today the field surface sucks?
The Chiefs allegedly pointed it out early in the season.
Not sure how many options there are in Arizona. But the NFL probably should have figured out something.

Yes, very good game

Looks like KC with the position they’re in is gonna pull this out.

Agreed. All-time great player. If anybody has a chance to catch Brady, it’s him.
-
That was a terrible call.
-
I’m rooting for the Chiefs and that was still a horrible fucking call by the refs on that holding call. Completely ruined this game. He didn’t even touch him hardly, let alone hold him. Uncatchable ball as well.
-
Ridiculous call. You don't blow the whistle on that with under 2 minutes to go in the Super Bowl. Come on.

Matt Nagy gets a ring. Fields and Trubisky were both holding him back from unleashing his ultimate big brane football genius.

Penalty in the 1st quarter should be a penalty in the 4th.

Listened to the Bet the Process podcast where they discuss sports betting. Chiefs more sacks than Eagles was discussed as a great prop bet. Explanation was that sacks are somewhat dependent on the QB and Mahomes good at escaping pressure. The question was the ankle.
-
Few things in sports make me happier than watching Chiefs fans cry. Hope j get the opportunity to see that today.
Oops.
-
Maybe your hero, Jalen Hurts, will be the MVP.
You see how far he threw that Hail Mary pass?
-
This would be a burgeoning blowout if not for that fumble return. Mahomes has barely been on the field.
That fumble was a critical play. Of course no one mentioned that the Eagle offense was on the field all that time due to the scoop and score.
-
Why can't we see the Eagle coach crying postgame?
-
Tom Thayer compared the Eagles to the 85 Bears and they look pretty good tonight.
Tom Thayer is an idiot. 158 yards rushing for the Chief. 6.1 ypc. No sacks for the Eagle. Big hold in the Red Zone. Blow 10 point 2d half lead. Just another reason The Score sucks.
-

The USFL will be on soon…

This exactly
The dude admitted after the game holding him and that he was hoping it would slide.
-
Maybe that was why the pass was uncatchable? The intended receiver was being held.
-

Doesn't matter if before the ball is thrown, right?
-
It was a weak ass call and there was zero chance he was going to catch it even if he wasn’t “held.” It was obvious.
I hate Philly fans and wanted the Eagles to lose. The call still sucked.
-
It was flat out a terrible call. He barely fucking touched him. And that goes uncalled 99% of the time. Again, I was rooting for the opposite team and still think that was fucking rigged.
-

Followed last years’ Super Bowl script to a T. I didn’t bother watching the last minute and a half because I’d already seen this movie before. I’m still pissed the Bengals got hosed last year.
-

Exactly. I’ve been having this discussion with a couple Chief fans. A slight tug on the jersey or hand on the hip (at the line of scrimmage no less) probably happens 20-25x a game. Almost never called.
-
Ridiculous call. You don't blow the whistle on that with under 2 minutes to go in the Super Bowl. Come on.
They’ve done it two years in a row.

Penalty in the 1st quarter should be a penalty in the 4th.

Isn’t the NHL known for “letting them play” the last 3 minutes of a game?

Philly defense really disappointed. Having said that. 14 of KC’s 38 wasn’t on them. It was on Hurts and the punt return team. Hold KC offense to 24 you should win. Philly defense made no significant plays, though. Can’t think of a single one.
-
Uncatchable pass anyway. No way that slight jersey pull coat Juju 5+ yards.

Here’s a clip of a play where there are basically two separate “holds” on one play in the 2nd quarter. Not called lol

And that is wrong too.

Yep, this. They have a shitty fan base. Not that I give a shit about Donovan McNabb, but the way they treated him and Andy Reid was pretty bad.
-
The guy said it was holding, he tugged the jersey and hoped the refs would let it slide.
Congratulations to Bradberry for owning up to it.
-
Bradberry isn’t a good enough source. Can you post multiple different links—only from outlets I approve—to confirm it was actually a hold?
-

Lol. I refuse.
-
If the Philly defense wouldn't have shit themselves in the 2nd half, it wouldn't have come down to that holding call.
Oh well. It was an entertaining game, even if the ending sucked.
-
It’s not a question of whether he grabbed him or not. He did. It’s just that that happens almost every play. I just showed you a video where it happened twice on the same play in the same area and neither were called. The hold wasn’t restrictive. It didn’t prevent Schuster from making the catch. I’ll bet that same play happened at least 10 other times in the game and didn’t get called. Super Bowls shouldn’t be decided because a ref made a call they usually ignore.
-

I'm not saying the call wasn't horseshit. I largely agree with you. I was just saying that Philly shitting themselves on defense certainly didn't help their cause.
-
Philly did plenty to hurt their own cause. But that penalty was the death blow. They may have bled out on their own, but that was the headshot.
-
And, I think the NFL is on a real slippery slope with integrity of the game issues. When you're in bed with all of these gambling outfits, it seems problematic.

Yep. Took the ball out of Hurts' hands at the end. No question.

The ending to the last two Super Bowls were almost identical. We were robbed of incredibly exciting finishes based on the most ticky tack calls.

Blatant holding isn't ticky tack.

Obscured by many.
That and the Philly offense faltered.
-
Blatant holding isn't ticky tack.
Don't hold and give them the chance to call it.
Also, you had the ball for 5 hours in the 1st half, gave up a scoop and score, and were only up 10. Cry Eagles Cry
-
Doesn't matter if before the ball is thrown, right?
I found this:
"Holding is when the receiver is grabbed while running his route before the pass is thrown. Pass interference is contact, including holding, with the receiver while the pass is in the air."
On a hold, whether the pass is catchable or not is irrelevant.
-
Here’s a really well written article on the holding call (the only one called in the entire game lol).

People on The Twitter were upset? Hmmmm.
Always told the kids, don't give the umpire or referee the chance to make a call on you.
The hold of the jersey apparently altered Smith's route. Was supposed to go in the flat and instead turned up field. Betting the call would not have been made if the throw had been to the other side of the field.
-
Seeing Wanny on the tv after the Bull post-game. Says it was a penalty that had to be called.

I think we’ve found what/who he considers an “expert”

So the defense should just hold all the receivers, then any pass would be uncatchable, so no call?
-
The guy said it was holding, he tugged the jersey and hoped the refs would let it slide.
Congratulations to Bradberry for owning up to it.
He thought they’d “let it slide,” because that’s the way the game was being played. Thus, the lack of consistency that is at the crux of this complaint. There’s no way the only holding penalty occurred with 1:54 to go, at the games’ most critical moment.
-

Has worked for Belichick for years, hasn't it?

He is on The Score and was talking to a The Score guy. Figured Tempo would relate.

He should have watched last year's Super Bowl, I guess.

It’s a shame that two great finishes in back to back Super Bowls were taken away with officials injecting themselves into the outcome.

Emmanuel Acho uses the perfect analogy in this take. Best explained opinion I’ve heard.

Or, you could blame the players for committing fouls on those plays.
-
It's pre-ordained that the Eagles would have kicked the tying field goal or scored the winning td. No other scenarios are on the table.

This is dumb. He held and got caught. End of argument.
-
We have heard from analysts talking about what cudda wudda shudda if the official let the hold slide. Chiefs kick fg, Eagles have time to tie or win..
How bout what if the dude doesn't hold?
-

We will never know what happened if that pass was thrown in the flat as apparently intended.

Definitely reads like a Parkins take.

Now you have stepped into the "It has to Affirm that Fields will be Great" Agenda. We shall see if he works as hard as Hurts did. People forget that Hurts had a head start after getting benched at Alabama.
-

But not the other plays!

Sounds like a Dan McNeil take. Oh wait, it is!

A “head start” to what? This post makes virtually no sense.
-

Bad analogy. The hold changed the receivers route and gave the defense an unfair advantage.
It's more like improper lane usage. Usually, it's harmless and cops don't pull you over. But you force someone off the road ...

Not quite, I did have that take earlier in the thread though.

If Smith was the only receiver wide on that side of the field, the official does not have to try and watch multiple receivers and defenders. Ergo, official is looking right at the play.

I don’t think it changed his route all. The receivers back was to the defender. The pull was extremely brief. Don’t even think it was strong enough to seriously impede Schuster.
I’d love to see a scientific breakdown of the play. Like with OBs catch.
-
A “head start” to what? This post makes virtually no sense.
A "head start" at making himself a good passer. Remember when Hurts got benched at Alabama because his passing sucked when Alabama played some good defenses? Lost his job to Tua? Hurts then worked hard to become a QB who could pass. Transferred to Oklahoma. Worked with Riley? You do remember all that, right? Because it is pretty critical when realizing how Hurts got to where he is now.
-
You guys are right though, I’m sure that’s the only hold or jersey pull in the entire game. Otherwise they’d have called something…
-

From what I have heard, it was the same play they ran inside the 5 for the 2 TD catches where the guys were wide open in the flat.

Again, Fields was the highest rated passer of the PFF college era. You’re talking nonsense. As usual.

You should ask the officials. Maybe they will respond to you on The Twitter unlike the head of Uber.

The claim that “Hurts worked on his passing while Fields didn’t” is pretty comical though.
-

So was Ryan Leaf. How did that work out?
Hurts could pass like that too in college when guys were wide open. Things were obviously different when playing Clemson....
And we all saw how Fields has sucked as a passer since he has played in the NFL.
-

We shall see what happens. Hope Fields works as hard as Hurts, as Fields has sucked so far as a passing QB.

Yeah, he’s really brought that talented Bears offense down. He made Nagy look bad, too.

Again, a little over a year ago half the Philly fanbase was clamoring for Gardner Minshew. Because Hurts became a great passer at Oklahoma after working on himself.

Oh, and he could squat 600.
