This is how it’s done right here folks 🤣🤣🤣. When you know you’re about to get canned just find something else.

Yes. Tempo just came.
Just a couple short hours away, and Tempo can drive up there, gaze upon Shaka's beautiful bronze skin, and think of what could have been.

Just a head scratching move. Dude turned us down for being too whitebread and now he has to live in Milwaukee.

Well, Chicago is just a short drive for his wife.
Agree- Milwaukee is not a diverse urban metro area.
Its like a big small town and not the greatest place for a person of color.
Helluva zoo though.

Have always had a great time when I visted Water Street (think that is the name) or gone to a Brewer game.

Enjoy the cosmopolitan metropolis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and their fucking terrible winters, douchebag!

The Champaign winters are any better?
-
Let's be honest. If there is a choice between Milwaukee and Champaign, you are choosing Milwaukee.
-
Why are you looking to Old 97 for rational answers?

I do suppose Austin isnt a choice at this point
-
I did get arrested one summer at Summerfest.
Jaywalking.
The cops grabbed me and the other guys and asked for IDs. Then yelled to another group of cops that we were FIBs. (Fucking Illinois Bastards).
Actually got put in a paddy wagon.
They treat their visitors well at the biggest moneymaking event of the year there.
So Shaka best wait for the light to change.

Champaign as expected has about 50% higher average wind speed than Milwaukee so for all intents and purposes they might as well be the same. The lake effect actually keeps cities like Chicago and Milwaukee warmer throughout the winter than further inland.
-
Does "lake effect snow" happen in Milwaukee?
-
Yeah it isn’t a lot though
-
Champaign averages 20 inches of snow per year.
Milwaukee averages 45 inches of snow per year.
-
Only 6% of that extra snow is lake effect
-
Just a head scratching move. Dude turned us down for being too whitebread and now he has to live in Milwaukee.
His stock is a little lower now than it was then.
-
I would expect lake effect to be mostly downwind from the lake. I suppose Benton Harbor gets more.
But holy shit on 45 inches. That's the same as Minneapolis, which seems to have snow on the ground from November to April.
-
Yeah it isn’t a lot though
People on the west side of the lake don’t really understand what lake effect snow is. They talk about it all the time, but it mostly only happens on the east side.

That’s not because Minneapolis gets more snow, it’s because it often doesn’t get warm enough for the snow to melt in Minnesota.

Milwaukee is a shit hole. Went up there a few years ago for a brewers game and stayed a few miles from the ball park at a holiday Inn. That night someone shot at the hotel and hit a window and numerous amount of cars were broken into in the parking lot.

Yep. Can't argue with a personal experience.

as someone who went to high school near milwaukee, there is a pretty large difference between the two, considering its 225 miles longitudinally... just showing the highs and lows doesn't really do the difference justice... lets just say there's a smaller area under the curve temperature wise for Milwaukee for you calculus dorks out there

The metro area overall is only 17% African American.
It's 1.5 MM people. Milwaukee itself is less than 600,000, hence the big small town thing. Lots of police and minority tension like a lot of urban city areas.Definitely more diverse in the actual city as you note.
I had close friends live in the city who I visited lot, and they moved to suburbs as things escalated.
I am quite sure Mrs. Shaka will have Groucho living in Shorewood and not in the city.
Let's just say the area is not ATL.
Look up David Clarke.
Lol.
-
Milwaukee is one of top 35 largest cities in the entire country and has more black than white people but it’s a small non-diverse town. Got it. Glad your friends made it out to the suburbs in one piece.
-

If you stayed a “few miles away”, then the mistake was on you and you made a bad choice. Most people would know you can stay in the suburbs and get to the park in 10 minutes
Milwaukee is a cool little town. Easy to get in and get out. Good food options, lots of parking. Like anywhere else, has areas to avoid.

It’s a pretty segregated town. On a scale of 1-10 for an African American, I’d score it about a 4.
A wealthy person like Shaka Smart will likely buy a ritzy north side /north suburb mini mansion like WoJo lived in (Mequon/Cedarburg)
-
Maybe you need to read up on what a metro area is and what an amenable culture and institutions are for persons of color.
Milwaukee itself has a poverty rate of over 25 %. You can guess who is overrepresented.
Let's see where Mrs. Shaka locates.
You seem to be simplistically equating the existence of minorities with being a good place to live for them.
Peoria has large African American population. It is only 56% white. Awful place for minorities to live. I have worked there for 43 years. The poverty and structural issues are tragic. Manual has grad rate around 50%. We have outreach office on south side.
Maybe this will help.
Milwaukee rated worst city in country for AA. Peoria in top 10.

Yes cities with more black people tend to have more crime and poverty, what are you trying to tell us?
When I don’t like a place I don’t stay there even when I didn’t have any extra money. Then again I had a HS diploma, some job skills and desire to work. I left Midlothian as soon as I was able to retire.
Everyone always says education will fix it but look at McLassie he’s got more education than anyone here and he lives like a hood rat by choice

Hood rat 🤣

I laughed too. Gelato has been on a roll lately. Must have gotten hold of some good weed.

He attended school in Wisconsin and may be from there originally?

Seems the writing was on wall at Texas. Smart (no pun intended) to go somewhere where he gets celebrated as a big deal again. Walk before they make you run.

Lastly, how do we know he turned us down for being too “whitebread?” Is that a direct quote? He’s in his third urban environment in a row. Seems that is an appeal to him.

600k doesn’t qualify as a “big city?”

This seems like a well informed take. I nominate this post for POTY.
