Today is where shit gets real. They’ve shown they can sneak past the chumps (and given the injuries and learning new systems I think there is value in that); but the schedule gets a lot tougher starting today. Today is almost a must win if they want to make the playoffs (barring some unlikely upsets down the road).
I have no idea what to expect for today. Wouldn’t be surprised if they did, wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t!

I think we all know how this story ends
-
Bears are in sole possession of first place for the time being
Bears and Illini are both 7-3 in November. Has that ever happened?

According to Hal9000, no.

If Denver and Chicago both win the divisions, that is something I did not predict.

Perhaps. But the Bears increased their playoff chances by 31% today (to 66%). I’d still put it closer to even.

Well you’re a moron, so…

I didn't predict it because Denver will win the division and the Bears will miss the playoffs.

I’m the local “Bears homer,” remember?

Schedule is about to get a lot more difficult.
Steelers (getting rudolph is a break)
Philly @ Philly
GB @ GB
Cleveland (we’re lucky this is at home, Cleveland destroys quarterbacks)
GB
SF @ SF
Detroit (lucky this is at home)
This is a much much tougher schedule than they just went through
-
We're gonna beat Detroit's ass at Soldier Field. They suck outdoors.
-
Goff does, yes. Outside in the elements is definitely where you want to face him/them.
-
philly will buttfuck us

You are?

Schedule is about to get a lot more difficult.
Steelers (getting rudolph is a break) - Loss
Philly @ Philly - Loss
GB @ GB - Loss
Cleveland - win on a last second FG by Santos after Bagent, subbing for Williams, drives the field
GB - Loss
SF @ SF - Loss
Detroit (lucky this is at home) - Win against Lions backups, but Bears lose tiebreaker for last WC spot
This is a much much tougher schedule than they just went through
-
You are?
Fields homer, lol
-
philly will buttfuck us
We might get shutout.

Not sure I buy that. It’s been a fun story to this point, sneaking past (bit slaying) bums but the last stretch is significantly tougher and they could very easily be around .500 at the end of the regular season. Maybe that gets them in, idk.

This Pittsburgh game is pretty damn important. We need 3 more wins to secure a playoff bid (one would think). Pittsburgh at home is easily one of the more winnable games. We are going to get buttplugged by Philly. Can’t ever assume we’re going to beat GB. Lions is the best situation we could ask for, but probably not a given. @SF can’t be called a layup by any means; and Cleveland is not good but that defense brutalizes quarterbacks, so we’re lucky that one is at home. Pittsburgh, Cleveland, @home against Detroit probably our 3 most probable wins.
I am worried our injuries and good fortune are going to catch up with us.

1) We gotta play 'em one day at a time.
2) I'm just happy to be here. Hope I can help the ballclub.
3) I just want to give it my best shot, and the good Lord willing, things will work out.

As largely expected, the Bears will be minus their top 3 linebackers vs Pittsburgh.
Ruben Hyppolite, D’Marco Jackson and some guy named Amen will be their linebackers. At least one of them is named Amen.

Total career tackles for this linebacking unit: 78
So like 7 games for TJ Edwards.

Why all their LB’s out?!
-
Why all their LB’s out?!
Why not?

Why all their LB’s out?!
Owies.
-
Yeah, that was a pretty dumb fucking question by Judy.
-
I mean, why the fuck else would they be out. PTO?
Jesus Christ.
-
Unless your name is Nate Davis, you only miss practice or games because of injury.

Bears down 6 starters on defense. Going to need multiple units to step up to grab a crucial win today. Need to control the clock, and keep our defense off the field as much as possible. Rodgers sounds 50/50. My guess is he plays. Need Montez to earn some salary today and put him on the ground a few times.
-
Rodgers is out. I’m not sure Mason Rudolph is a huge downgrade, but need to make the Steelers pay for the decision.
-
The Steelers go 95 yards after the announcer told us the Bears have an opportunity to hold the Steelers to a 3 and out, or maybe a turnover. Lol
-
Caleb gives the Steelers an early Christmas present.
-
Really need to play a clean game today. That won’t work.
-
Not hearing as much bellyaching about taking Loveland over Warren as I was earlier in the year.
-
About 2 plays before Rich, Lazy Montez’ strip/sack/fumble recovery!

Start clutching your chests once again lol

You’d think we could have gotten a 1st down the last two drives.
-
Cardiac Bears win again!
BEAR DOWN!!
-
Damn good team win. Defense played admirably considering all of the injuries.
-
Playoff chances just got a big boost. Lions just tied up their game at end of regulation. A lions loss would be huge.

I know Mason Rudolph was the QB but agreed. Excluding Caleb gift wrapping them 7 points, only 21 points allowed from the mash unit D. Played their asses off in the 2nd half.

And while the defense is still accountable for it, another TD came on long run on a great gimmick call. Tomlin is the most conservative coach in the league.
-
Hard to say if Rudolph was a downgrade. I think with Rodgers these days you can’t be sure what you’re going to get. Good solid win.

Judging by Rodgers track record vs the Bears, Steelers win today if he plays.

1) he’s almost 42 now
2) no longer on the Packers

LOL wut? (As you would say.)
What teams would play Rudolph over Rogers, even at this point in Rogers' career? Rogers beats the Bear yesterday as he can audible to counter whatever the Bear were doing defensively. Rudolph over JJ McCarthy? Sure.
The Bear D has made Tyler Huntley and Mason Rudiolph look remotely competent due to the D injuries. Again, the Bear, generally, need to put up a ton of points to outscore people given the shape of the defense. Good thing they scored enough yesterday. Not sure that happens even with old man Rogers with a fractured arm.
-

So what? 1) he's not Mason Rudolph and 2) he knows how to read defenses and audible. I doubt he is leaving a TE on Sweat with no RB help.....

He’s had a couple of clunkers this year. He’s almost 42. And if we’re counting the injury he probably would have been worse than Rudolph.
-
In his last 3 games he has 3 TDs and 2 INTs. It’s not like he’s been lighting the world on fire.
-
Mason Rudolph as a starter with Pittsburgh was 8-4-1. So he’s capable. A downgrade from Rodgers, but probably not a huge one IMO.

The same Bears defense that had multiple practice squad guys taking important reps?

Which is the point. You don't think Rogers is able to better handle those type of players and resulting matchups than Rudolph or Huntley?

He would "get healthy" against the corpse that is the current Bear defense.
I am leery that Hurts is going to look like Dan Marino on Friday
-
The Eagles should be angry, that’s for sure.

Yep. Don't like it. Was hoping their overconfidence would be their weakness.

Valid points for sure. I just believe Rodgers would have turned back the clock to stick it to the Bears one last(?) time in front of their home crowd as he has so often relished doing in the past. He certainly would have tested their banged up defense more than Rudolph did.

Yeah, I heard from somewhere that if it were solely up to him, he would have played. Steelers said no.
I'm pretty damn glad about that tbh
-
Hey guys, here’s Judge Judy showing me proof that I said Mason Rudolph is “better than Rodgers!”

With the Panthers upset of the Rams, the Chicago Bears are currently the #1 seed in the NFC going into December.
Quite a turn around after the 0-2 start.

Getting swept by GB will be quite the nut punch

This is why I didn’t much fear 42 year old Aaron Rodgers.

Da Bears are going to the playoffs!

Ryan Poles statement has now become reality. The Bears have taken the North!
