My second time doing this post since I closed the web browser accidentally.....
#23 Illinois at Washington
Date | Time Saturday, Oct. 25 | 2:30 p.m. CT/12:30 p.m. PT [QANON97 BETTER SET HIS ALARM!]
Location Seattle, Wash. (Husky Stadium) [JUDGE JUDY AND QANON97 SHARING A DOUBLE BED....THAT'S AN IMAGE!]
TV Big Ten Network [BUMMER]
Radio Busey Bank Illini Sports Network / SiriusXM (372)
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Following its first off week of the season, #23 Illinois is back on the road for a trip to Seattle to face Washington. The Fighting Illini and Huskies are scheduled to kick at 2:30 p.m. CT on Big Ten Network.
Illinois (5-2, 2-2 Big Ten) is back in the rankings this week [WE ARE BACK BABY!], coming in at #23 in both the AP Top 25 and USA TODAY US LBM Coaches Poll. The Illini are led by quarterback Luke Altmyer, who ranks in the top 25 in the nation in completion percentage (6th, 72.4), passing efficiency (9th, 173.4), and passing yards (21st, 1,821).
Washington (5-2, 2-2 Big Ten) is coming off a 24-7 loss at Michigan last week. The Huskies are also led by strong quarterback play with Demond Williams Jr., who ranks right beside Altmyer in completion percentage (8th, 72.1), passing efficiency (12th, 166.5), and passing yards (18th, 1,837). [IF THIS CAT IS MOBILE, WATCH OUT]
The Illini and Huskies will meet for the 12th time and the first time as Big Ten opponents. Washington has won four straight in the series, including Illinois' last trip to Seattle in 2014. [WHAT A SHOCKER]
Jeff Levering (play-by-play), Jake Butt (analyst) [HE SAID "BUTT", HEH HEH HEH], and Brooke Fletcher (reporter) [THE DAUGHTER OF PALE HOSE SCOTT FLETCHER! SHE IS EASY ON THE EYES] have the television broadcast on Big Ten Network. The Busey Bank Illini Sports Network has the radio call with Brian Barnhart (play-by-play), Carey Davis (analyst), and Michael Martin (sideline).
Illinois in the Rankings
• Illinois was unranked in last week's AP Top 25, snapping a streak of 12 straight appearances in the AP poll. The Illini's 12 straight rankings was the fourth-longest streak in program history, behind 1989-1990 (33), 1950-1952 (21), and 1946-1947 (13). [SAD!]
• Illinois is ranked #23 in this week's US LBM Coaches Poll, up two spots from last week.
• Illinois has the #6 strength of schedule and the #13 strength of record in the nation, according to ESPN. [YAY US!]
• Illinois had its highest preseason ranking (#12) since 1990, when the Illini started #11 in the Preseason AP Top 25. [SAD!]
• Bret Bielema has had the Illini ranked in 25 AP polls, the third-most weeks ranked by a head coach in Illinois history. [MORE SAD SACK STATS!]
Winning Ways
• Illinois is 15-5 over the last two seasons, including 11 Power-4 wins, eight Big Ten wins, and wins over teams from every other Power-4 conference: the SEC (vs. South Carolina), ACC (at Duke), and Big XII (Kansas). [GOOD!]
• Illinois is 9-2 over its last 11 games with the only losses coming this season to now-#2 Indiana and #1 Ohio State. [GOOD!]
• Illinois has 15 wins over the last two seasons. A 16th win would give Illinois its most wins over a two-year stretch since 1989-90, when the Illini went 10-2 then 8-4 under John Mackovic. [GOOD, BUT SAD!]
• Illinois is 10-1 against unranked teams over the last two seasons. [VERY GOOD!]
• Illinois is 11-5 when playing as a ranked team over the last two seasons. [GOOD!]
• Illinois is looking to become postseason eligible in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2010-11. [SAD TROMBONE!]
The Illinois-Washington Series
• Saturday marks the 12th meeting between Illinois and Washington in the series that began back to 1950.
• The matchup is the first between the Fighting Illini and Huskies as Big Ten opponents since Washington joined the league prior to the 2024 season.
• Ten of the previous 11 contests in the series were regular-season, nonconference matchups.
• The meeting on Jan. 1, 1964, a 17-7 Fighting Illini victory in the Rose Bowl, capped the 1963 campaign that saw the Orange and Blue post an 8-1-1 record, win the Big Ten Championship, and finish #3 in the final AP Top 25 Poll.
• Illinois is 1-4 in its previous five trips to Seattle. The Huskies have won four straight at home against Illinois since the Illini captured a 27-20 road victory en route to the 1951 national championship. Since that first matchup in Seattle in 1951, the Illini have lost road games at Washington in 1956 (28-13), 1962 (28-7), 1972 (31-11), and 2014 (44-19).
• Illinois is 3-1 when ranked inside the top 25 when facing Washington. The #8 Illini defeated the #20 Huskies, 27-20 in Seattle in 1951. The following year, the 13th-ranked Illini won 48-14 in Champaign, and the third-ranked Illini captured the 1964 Rose Bowl title, 17-7, vs. Washington. In 1956, unranked UW upset #13 Illinois, 28-13, in Seattle.
• The 1964 win over Washington marked the Illini's last victory in the Rose Bowl. Illinois made its first appearance in Pasadena in 12 years, led by linebacker Dick Butkus and fullback Jim Grabowski. Illinois trailed 7-0 before Jim Plankenhorn's 32-yard field goal with one second remaining in the first half put the Illini on the scoreboard. Illinois came out strong in the second half, grinding out touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters to wear down the Huskies, 17-7. Grabowski earned MVP honors, gaining 125 yards and scoring one touchdown. [THE TRUE GOLDEN AGE OF ILLINI FOOTBALL, CUSTARD!]
• Tom O'Connell set Illinois' single-game record for passing efficiency (308.9), and touchdown passes in a half (5), vs. Washington 10/11/1952. [DOES HE STILL HAVE ELIGIBILITY?]
• Willie Osley's 98-yard interception return for touchdown vs. Washington (10/2/1971) is the longest interception return and tied for the longest interception return for a touchdown in program history. [WE NEED WARM BODIES IN THE SECONDARY! BRING HIM BACK!]
Bigger question: What is the Illini road record when QAnon97 is in attendance?
And now, for Seattle weather with Mr. Roberts!

HQ2: Mr. Roberts, how was your week off?
Mr. Roberts: Babe and I had a swell time with Diane Keaton!
HQ2: Diane Keaton?! Do we really want to know how the Babe and you sullied her?
Mr. Roberts: No interest on our part. Babe and I do not want Woody Allen's sloppy seconds. Plus, we like girls who had a little bit of heft up top. But she can booze!
HQ2: OK, the last time we did this bit we ran way too long, onto to the weather, Mr. Roberts.
Mr. Robert: QAnon97 better pack his rubbers....not just for the bitches!

And now over to Jimmy the Greek and Brent!
(https://i.postimg.cc/BLsqkcWw/Jimmy.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/BLsqkcWw)
Brent: Greek, you are back to pick against the Illini as you do every week?
Greek: Yep. Usually a solid bet until this Bielema fat ass showed up! I loved me some Lou Tepper.
Brent: The Illini started as 3.5 dogs. Now it is 4 to 4.5.
Greek: The sharps betting against the Illini again, Brent. So am I! They haven't traveled well to the West Coast since the 1950's! And QAnon97 will be there all drunk and pissed off yelling at the players.
Brent: Big swing in the Money Line on this one Greek...
Greek: Yep, started Illini +145 and Worshington -175. Now you can get the Illini +155 to +165. Worshington anywhere from -175 to -192. Everyone hates the Illini in this game, Brent. The Illini just are not bred to travel West. The Worshington athlete is a better athlete to begin with, because he's been coached to be that way. Goes back all the way to PAC12 when Don James was their coach. That's where it all started!
Brent: We are getting into some dangerous terrain here, Greek.
Greek: Worshington has some mountains. QAnon97 will be looking for some big mountains when he is out there. Hopefully he does not find a tranny....
Brent: What are your thoughts on the over/under? Let's focus on the game....
Greek: Started 54.5. Still hovering there. Can get 53.5 to 55 depending upon the book. I like the over. Not much defense to be played here by Illinois. Worshington may cover the over by itself.
Brent: The Illini are 5-2 against the spread and 4-3 over/under.
Greek: They will be 5-3 and 5-3 after this weekend.
Brent: Until next week.....
Go Illini.....

The Illini have never won a road game when I have been in attendance! But let me look at flights…
-
Thanks for the Willie Osley mention. I would have been in West Block I for that game.
And swiped from the Husky site .....
QUICK HITTERS: Husky RB Jonah Coleman leads the nation in scoring (11.1 points per game), rushing touchdowns (12), and total touchdowns (13), and is second total points (78) ... Coleman also ranks No. 7 in all-purpose yards ... Coleman has new career highs for attempts (24 vs. Colo. St.), rushing TDs (5 vs. UC Davis), receptions (8, vs. Maryland), and receiving yards (104 vs. WSU) this year ... Husky QB Demond Williams Jr. is currently No. 8 in the nation in completion percentage and No. 12 in pass efficiency ... it takes 325 attempts (he has 295) to make the NCAA career active leaders rankings, but if he qualified, Williams would easily lead all active players in career pass efficiency (170.17), which would also rank No. 9 in FBS history ... Washington won 24-20 Oct. 4 at Maryland, despite trailing 20-0 ... it was the seventh 20-point comeback in UW history and the first on the road since the 1993, 24-23 win at California ... Washington has outscored opponents 80-20 in the fourth quarter this season ... only two of seven UW opponents has scored in the final quarter this year ... the Huskies rank No. 17 in the FBS in scrimmage plays of 10-plus yards (116), and No. 7 with 47 plays of 20-plus yards ... Williams is tied for second in the nation with 10 rushing plays of 20-plus yards ...
Washington is 66-17 (.795) in home games since the stadium re-opened in 2013.

I feel pretty bad about this one

Sounds like ILoveMn now has a regular feature to add: notes from the opposing team's website....

Amazon Web Services won't give me the season stats in the Huskies website or you would have gotten more "notes".
How's their run defense ?
-
I feel pretty bad about this one
No cups are needed yet. Win and we've got a chance for 10-2 with losses to #1 and at #2.
The cup gets dusted off next week for the rest of the season.
-
The Illini have never won a road game when I have been in attendance! But let me look at flights…
LFG!
-
Man. If Custard shows up, I'm not watching. Fuck this.
Not to mention, I'm gonna be laid up, on vikes, and generally in a not amazing mood anyway.
Kinda like when I had my vasectomy in 2001 and we lost in basketball to a very shitty Penn St. team that night.
Cleotis Brown's girlfriend saw my cock that day tho. Which was kinda amazing.
-
LFG!
Fortunately for Illini fans everywhere, flight prices to Seattle from Nashville are outrageous.

I was at this one. Boy was it sweet.

A couple of wins at Purdue, Wisconsin, and Cal. Losses at Iowa, Missouri, Michigan, Penn State, and the Red Box Bowl

I remember being shocked and dismayed it cost me $40 to get in from scalpers (first level seats).
Now face is probably multiple times that.
-

Actually, I'm optimistic. We match up well and had extra prep time. Keep it close and I like Luke in the 4th.
-
Bielema allegedly 6-1 at Illinois following bye weeks. The one loss was the first year.
-
It'll take a complete game from the coaches, offense, defense and special teams to get a win in Seattle. We do that and I like our chances. If we don't then 9-3 becomes the goal.
6-1 after bye weeks is a good start.
-
We've got wins against 2 ranked teams, Duke & USC. Huskies have a 4th quarter, come from behind, win at MD as their only non-cupcake W. We also matched up much better against Bucknuts.
-
Ryan Walters is their DC. Let’s drop another 50 points on his ass.
-
Not sure what to think of this one, but I don’t have the overwhelming sense of dread I did about the IU game. Hopefully we play well and don’t make the unforced errors that gave away the OSU game.
-
Hopefully the rb's are good to go. Pound the shit out of the Husky defense.
Andre Lovett Jr is listed as a 6'1" 190 pound db out of Blue Island Eisenhower.

We are not making the playoffs with a 53 point loss.

If that and Ohio State are our only losses we will. Would be to two top-5 teams and best resume of two loss teams. Think a stat showed a 86% chance we make it if we win out…

tOSU was #1. The Hoosiers may be the best team in the country.
At 10-2, things may very well depend on how other conferences play out. 4 Big10 teams went last year.

Its cold here, fun city though damn

LOL right now according to CBS we are projected 23rd in the playoff rankings. We’re going to pass 11 other teams with our best wins rest of season being Northwestern and Washington? I suppose making the playoffs is plausible, but I think it’s far from a given even if we were to somehow win out.
-
As of right now, I think we have 0 wins against ranked teams. Unless they count ranking at the time of the win, which I don’t believe they do.
-
The fact our only losses would be against 1 and 2 would be impressive, but we’d still likely have 0 top 25 wins and a 53 point loss. Seems they’d probably be able to find 12 teams more deserving and we could easily fall 2-3 spots short.

You dont think anyone else above us now will lose a game? Also we beat USC who is ranked
-
You dont think anyone else above us now will lose a game? Also we beat USC who is ranked
Duke who was ranked. We had a top-10 strength of schedule so far. Tempo, tell me how Notre Dame is so high and have two losses?! The only reason the SEC gets so many “ranked wins” is because in the preseason they put every team in the top-25 to build that narrative in the system. It’s rigged…
-
You dont think anyone else above us now will lose a game? Also we beat USC who is ranked
Some of them would probably have to to lose two games. Again, 0 top 25 wins and a 53 point loss would far from a surety IMO. Plus, we could get leapfrogged.
-

You just said two key things. ND and rigged. Gonna be hard to overcome ND with 0 top 25 wins and a 53 point loss.
-
You dont think anyone else above us now will lose a game? Also we beat USC who is ranked
Do they take into account the ranking at the time, or end of season? I’d think end of season. A win against Penn State in Sept would look much better than it would in late October, for example.
-
You just said two key things. ND and rigged. Gonna be hard to overcome ND with 0 top 25 wins and a 53 point loss.
I think we all understand this but you started with we won't get in. As at all.
-

If we win out, you’ve gotta put 4-5 B1G teams in the CFP. It’d be crazy if you didn’t. We’d be the 4th. Can’t be USC ahead of us, we beat them…
-
I guess you guys have opened me up to the possibility…but I think it’s far from a sure thing even if we win out.
-
I see 3 for sure teams from the B1G. 5 seems a huge stretch.
-
I guess you guys have opened me up to the possibility…but I think it’s far from a sure thing even if we win out.
Again, I think we have an 86% chance if we win out. Can’t find where that was listed now…
-
I’d be interested in seeing that if you find it.
-
Some of them would probably have to to lose two games. Again, 0 top 25 wins and a 53 point loss would far from a surety IMO. Plus, we could get leapfrogged.
We could. But probably not.
Who's going to leapfrog a 10-2 team with its losses to #1 and at #2 ?
-
5 teams would be almost half the field. I don’t see it.
-
We could. But probably not.
Who's going to leapfrog a 10-2 team with its losses to #1 and at #2 ?
A team with better wins and no 40+ point losses

Michigan looks like a prime candidate.

We have a much better resume than them. Hell no…

1st things first. Beat Washington.

1st things first. Beat Washington.
Or even hold them to under 8 yards a play
-
They’re gonna buttfuck us.
-
Zero pressure. Zero tackling. Gonna be a long ass day if we keep that up.
-
They’re gonna buttfuck us.
97’s fault
-
That was way too easy…
-
How was that not PI
-
Terrible 3rd and 3 call.
-
We have a much better resume than them. Hell no…
What if they beat Ohio State?
-
Relax. It's 7-3. Not a great play to run.
-
How was that not PI
The one in the end zone?
It wasnt.
-
What if they beat Ohio State?
That would change things, but I don’t see that happening…
-
That would change things, but I don’t see that happening…
Ok, but there’s a lot of big what ifs going on here. We’re far from automatic to run the table; and Michigan has owned the Ohio State rivalry for a while. It was less than a year ago 70% of OSU fans wanted Ryan Day fired.
-

The two weeks of prep sure are paying dividends right now

If we can’t stop these fuckers, none of this shit matters. So shut the fuck up.
-
Henry needs fired or demoted. Dude just isn’t getting it done…
-
We have 3 down lineman on d
Washington has 7
-
Washington 2/2 on 3rd… e g they have only had 3rd down 2x in 2 drives
-
Start pressuring - maybe we can turn it around
-
Offense seems up to the task at least.
-
Washington 2/2 on 3rd… e g they have only had 3rd down 2x in 2 drives
We might be the worst team defensively on 3rd downs. Leave Henry in Seattle please lol…

We're 118 out of 134. Right behind Rutgers.
We're 5-2 tho.
-
A stop! Ok it was by Washington's own doing but I'll take it!
-
We might be the worst team defensively on 3rd downs. Leave Henry in Seattle please lol…
Today we’ve mostly been very bad at getting to 3rd down….
That drive we got a few people on the line. A little lucky on 3rd but let’s take advantage of it
-
We had a lot come back on offense and we're last in 3rd down yardage ?
-
BRUTAL CALL
-
Ref show
-
Ha. 1st down
-
GREAT CALL

Make up call
-
You’re arguing just to argue…
LOL whatever. You’re just being a homer. It’s a complete uphill assignment to get into the playoffs.
-
At least they’re fucking both teams.
-
LOL whatever. You’re just being a homer. It’s a complete uphill assignment to get into the playoffs.
You predict the Bears making the playoffs every year so shut the fuck up about being a homer.
You don’t watch college football. Gtfo.
-
We had a lot come back on offense and we're last in 3rd down yardage ?
No, defensively…
-
You predict the Bears making the playoffs every year so shut the fuck up about being a homer.
Actually, I don’t.
-
Gotta put this in
Defense at least getting a lot of rest
-
Tempo is harshing my vike mellow
-
LOL whatever. You’re just being a homer. It’s a complete uphill assignment to get into the playoffs.
Again. It is. You said we won't get in. As at all.
-
Actually, I don’t.
Yes, you do. You even did the year we went 3-14.
-
Tempo is harshing my vike mellow
That’s because you’re a pussy. It’s just a message board as you like to say. Calm down.
-
LOL whatever. You’re just being a homer. It’s a complete uphill assignment to get into the playoffs.
It’s not uphill if we win out. That’s the whole premise of what we’re talking about…
-
That’s because you’re a pussy. It’s just a message board as you like to say. Calm down.
Hot take lol
-
Yes, you do. You even did the year we went 3-14.
I highly doubt it. That team had 25 players on one year deals. I for sure wasn’t predicting playoffs most years under Pace. I laughed at Spark when he suggested the 2018 team could win 12 games. I was wrong.
-
Get in your car and fuck off
-
This was not the score I expected with 1:55 left after watching the first drive
-
Get in your car and fuck off
Approve. Surgery can’t stop your A game
-
It’s not uphill if we win out. That’s the whole premise of what we’re talking about out…
Winning out is uphill by itself. But Michigan making a strong push and continuing their dominance over OSU is just “over the top!”
-
This was not the score I expected with 1:55 left after watching the first drive
Me either 😂 I’ll take it! More long drives to keep our D off the field please…
-
Yeah the PI was weak sauce but hey we got the lead....for now.
-
Jesus you guys are snowflakes.
-
Good job. Now get a stop and get the ball to start the 2nd half.
-
Winning out is uphill by itself. But Michigan making a strong push and continuing their dominance over OSU is just “over the top!”
You literally just like to argue. Never seen anything like it…
-
Winning out is uphill by itself. But Michigan making a strong push and continuing their dominance over OSU is just “over the top!”
Take it to another board
-
They could have made 2 PI/contact calls on that one play that they are bitching about
-
Might want to cover the Boston fella
-
They could have made 2 PI/contact calls on that one play that they are bitching about
I said that to a buddy of mine when it happened. Guy in inside was being held like crazy. So good call…
-
Might want to cover the Boston fella
And catch a pick that hits you right in the hands
-
They’re gonna buttfuck us.
Hey guys, Tempo is being negative again!
-
Nice try
-
WTF?
-
So anyway, glad this game has gotten fun. I was legit afraid, especially after the first 2 Washington series, that a buttfucking was imminent.
A win would be huge. But I’m sure as fuck not optimistic.
-
WTF?
Tempo fucked another game thread.
-
What is Bielema doing to end the half?! Just terrible to let the clock run out…
-
This gonna be like Indiana
Stop being negative, Tempo!
-
Tempo fucked another game thread.
Was commenting on the play calling at the end of the half. Don't understand why Illinois wasn't going for it

-
Stop being negative, Tempo!
Victim
-
Again. It is. You said we won't get in. As at all.
I conceded it’s plausible, but I’m not sure running the table (which is a big ask by itself) is automatic.
-
So anyway, glad this game has gotten fun. I was legit afraid, especially after the first 2 Washington series, that a buttfucking was imminent.
A win would be huge. But I’m sure as fuck not optimistic.
We get the ball to start the half. Make it a 60 minute game and sneak out with a win.

Hypocrite!

Idk. We do get the ball to start the 2nd half. Maybe he just didn’t want a disaster there.
-
Take it to another board
You literally asked me a question and I answered it. I didn’t know it was a rhetorical question. You guys should understand your own roles in extending these arguments. But you won’t.
-
Oh. Lol. Sorry im a bit high
No problem
-

I think you're correct.
-
Hypocrite!
I don’t recall saying you were negative. But I’m high
-
Cell service sucks here but overall fun game, also fuck you tempo for crappin up another thread
-
I don’t recall saying you were negative. But I’m high
That’s how this all started. I said a team that lost by 53 isn’t getting into the playoffs. I then conceded maybe I was wrong, but that wasn’t enough to satisfy the angry mob.
I’ve said all there is to say. Enjoy the game thread, and go Illini!
-

LOL I’m literally the Justin Fields of HQ2, it’s ALWAYS my fault, no matter how many others share in the blame!
-
Yes, because you’re a fucking asshole. Lol
-
Sure thing.
-
Weather is getting a bit nasty here now may play a factor
-
Me: a multiple loss team that lost a game by 53 is not making the playoffs.
HQ mob: Wrong, you’re an asshole
Me: Yeah, maybe they will get in, but it’s an uphill battle.
HQ2: You’re an asshole!
-
Weather is getting a bit nasty here now may play a factor
Both teams have to play in it, thankfully.
-
I miss slow slogging football games of 13 too 10
These high scoring games are not for me
-
I miss slow slogging football games of 13 too 10

I can live with it as long as we’re scoring more than they are.
-
Fuck that would have been huge.
Wtf was Boston doing there lol
-
Looks like we’re on our way to fucked city
-
Henry needs fired. That’s just unacceptable…
-
Defense still blows
-
100% looks like the defense doesn't give a fuck out there.
-
Henry needs fired. That’s just unacceptable…
If not, at the very least make him find his own way back to Champaign
-
I’ll just say this once, so no need to
harangue me for it; I saw this team live at IU, and they are at best a fringe top 25 team. Which is pretty good for us 9.5 times out of 10.
-
Not looking well coached today
-
God damn. This one is off the rails.
-
Just get bowl eligible and go from there. The CFP was always a pipe dream to me anyway. We still don't have the horses for that yet.
-
Dumb penalty leads to pick - brutal
-
Gotta catch that Beatty…
-

You’d have been run out on a rail for that opinion 30 minutes ago!
-
Got lucky there
-
Gotta catch that Beatty…
Looked like he got hit pretty good there. Lot of traffic
-
3rd and 18 and they let the QB flex all over their candy asses lmfao.
-
Defense is brutal. Jacas is the Monty Sweat of this squad
-
Wasting Altmyer’s Senior year with a shitty defense like this. Smh…
-

It's a no name defense today. No names being called for big plays.
-
Just a poorly coached team
-
You’d have been run out on a rail for that opinion 30 minutes ago!
I'm not delusional enough to believe that Illinois football is suddenly some week in, week out powerhouse like Alabama or OSU because of last year. Consistent 9-3 and 8-4 seasons are A-ok with me. And if they sprinkle in a CFP appearance every now and then, that's just icing on the cake.
-
This is coming out of a bye week. Brutal
-
Wasting Altmyer’s Senior year with a shitty defense like this. Smh…
Next year we’ll have the same D without a QB or WRs
-
Next year we’ll have the same D without a QB or WRs
The WRs, as a whole, are not that good
-
I was hopeful and reasonably optimistic of a playoff bid. Then I saw a non-competitive team in Bloomington. We’re trending in the right direction, but as you said; we’re not there yet.
-

+1
This year, more was expected. Just keep building…
-
This isn't trending in the right direction
-
The WRs, as a whole, are not that good
That’s the one good thing about the NIL period. Could all change next year.
-
You don't have time to run the ball
-
This isn't trending in the right direction
Over our previous 3-4 coaches? Yes it is.
-
You don't have time to run the ball
Maybe they don’t trust the quarterback.
-

Except it didn't for this year despite losing guys
-
Maybe they don’t trust the quarterback.
He's not a fucking shithead like Fields is
-
Then he throws an interception
-
Bama - Cocks is a much better game.
You’re welcome.
-
Should spend that 100 million on players not the stupid stadium
-
Except it didn't for this year despite losing guys
That has no bearing on next year. They could bring in 2 NFL caliber receivers next year. Who knows?
-
How they don't understand at this point that they have have to outscore people is beyond me
-
That has no bearing on next year. They could bring in 2 NFL caliber receivers next year. Who knows?
The point is they knew they had to bring people in this year and they didn't do it. And if they didn't know it, then they're idiots
-
Let’s do a BoNix
-

I’d prefer an edge rusher, a CB, and a killer OLB
-
Can somebody play defense please?
-
The point is they knew they had to bring people in this year and they didn't do it. And if they didn't know it, then they're idiots
Well I’m guessing they tried. Perhaps next year the trying will be more rewarded.
-
I’d prefer an edge rusher, a CB, and a killer OLB
Odds are they're going to need a quarterback
-
Let’s do a BoNix
That would require a defensive stop
-
a killer (O)LB
Ray Lewis is out of eligibility
-
Odds are they're going to need a quarterback
Arch Manning could be available!
-
Where is Feagin?
-
Ray Lewis is out of eligibility
That was a good one!
-
The stupid penalties are inexcusable
-

Bowick or Elzy was supposed to take Bryant's place.
-
That was a good one!
Thanks, was worried that one might go overlooked.
-
No reason to cover Boston at all
-
No pressure on their QB. Not tackling ball carriers. Leaving their best receiver wide open all game.
Glad we took advantage of the extra week so we could come up with a masterful game plan like that.
-
No reason to cover Boston at all
Not anymore
-
Why would they let that guy back in? This game is done
-

Golden Era of Illini football!
Looking more and more like the Mackovic Era where you generally can't win a game against a comparable team unless it is at home
-
More selfish penalties
-
How you miss blocking that punt there is insane
-
Again, poor coaching.
-
Looks like 97 left
-
Looks like 97 left
Still here!
-
Fisch and Walters completely pantsed Bielema, Henry and Lunney.
-
Still here!
You should have left!

Just rememeber that anyone could have had the Indiana guy....
-
Another embarrassing performance.
-
That was fucking infuriating. This is supposed to be a veteran team that is well coached, and once again we shoot ourselves in the foot with terrible mistakes at critical times. Also, Aaron Henry can stay in fucking Washington and never come close to this defense again. Third and long over and over and over again and we can’t even find their best player on the field in coverage. Terrible performance all around coming out of a bye.

He totally overran blocking it. Unbelievable, except Illinois…

I did. Fuck that “defense…”

Custard's custard gun is golden.

Wouldn't have mattered. Do not reccomend ubering to and from the game if you ever go there...

You didn't have a tailgate set up?

Styrofoam coolers are cheap. They still sell Styrofoam coolers right?

Probably cost a million dollars just like everything else here!
-
Sorry you flew up there to get punched in the nuts 97.
-

Post game.
"How do you guide Aaron Henry through this?"
"We had a very manageable third and 7, third and 8, and that's when they caught number 12 over the middle there, and he was just running scot free, and then I heard on the headset, I wasn't able to watch play yet, we just cut a guy loose. We were running Man free, and the guy that was covered him just stopped covering him, and it's just inexcusable. And something that we got to figure out why that happened, and then obviously, find out the answers. If he can't do it, then we got to find somebody else who can."
Is Bielema referring to the player who stopped covering ? Or Henry ?
-
Hopefully, both.
-
I think the player, but I could be infowarsing the topic.
-
I was thinking player too
-
Hopefully, both.
I was thinking player. But Henry had a bye week to prepare the defense so "Hopefully, both" may be the best answer..
-
Sorry you flew up there to get punched in the nuts 97.
Im not, im having a great time!
-
Im not, im having a great time!
Oh. Well good then!
-
Just got a chance to watch the game on TV man, we had at least 4 (5 if you count the missed punt block) opportunities to get turnovers and the ball bounced their way, the two stupid ass unnecessary roughness calls were timed awful as well. We could have won that game if we had a little luck and way more smarts. Annoying!
