We need a good game from Boswell/White imo, Izzo will be rightfully focused/enamored with KJ and rightfully so.
Carr will the nemesis for us today I am afraid. Tomi is way better than Kohler.

Good overall 1st half, need to even it out a little in the 2nd with KJ taking the reins again.
Expect another B1G half, this one behind KJ and DGL with White getting busy imo.
ILLINI defense needs to get more physical to disrupt the % of the Spartans so far....WAY to high with a ton of easy drives...make them shoot the mid range.
Winning the glass, losing the fouls by 4, taken 10 more shots, so the offensive glass has awarded us chances, need to convert and take it to the rim and draw some shooting fouls.

BU doesn't need to draw up a play, You got a 3 yr player handling the all who has played in not 1 but 2 P5 conferences against major level comp. Make a play, damn, it isn't rocket science...dribble the ball for 12 seconds and T/O that isn't the Coachs fault.
That said call a T/O if you have too....even if a sh*t play is called...it's still better than that outcome!!

Holloman, Fidler, and Carr.
Littlewood, Breeding, and Anderson.

On the plus side KJ had no turnovers.
Boswell put them on his stat line instead. Not a great game with his 5 turnovers but 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

We were right there in a hostile environment with our best player getting hosed by the disgusting ref show. I love that we didn't quit when it looked like everything was about to go to shit late. That was very encouraging.
And yep, the technical FTs did indeed factor in to the final margin. But at the same time it also helped to spark us and get us back in it.
Another learning experience for this young and talented group.

I know he had 3 fouls but in a game like today the minutes on these guys are not really defensible unless Johnson is keeling over and desperate for air. The guy's just a better player and does more, play if there's no risk of the other 4 lighting it up.

I think MSU is deep and a fairly tough team, but not Top 10 in country. Have to be able to shoot the three better.
On the other hand I don't see major differences in the Top 15-20 teams as college BB is one big AAU summer league now so anybody might emerge in March.

We moved up due to the circumstance of that game, refs/KJ being fouled out, and the ILLINI showing what they can do even with all the cards are stacked against them...Kudo's to Riley/Rez and Ivisic being sick while playing. Imagine if Humrichous and White would have really come along for the ride. We still would have won that game and I think the national pundits/coaches know that as well.

Pretty spot on really, I would go one further. Top 6-20 I don't think is much different, could the ILLINI beat Tennessee (almost did), Kansas/Oregon (already did) and many more and or lose to them as well?
They could and did and possibly will beat some of these teams. I would not be surprised to see a UCONN/ILLINI rematch this year either.
