Post by: ILLINICHIEF on January 24, 2024, 07:59:57 AM
Morez may have been slighted, but we still got one.

Congrats to Berry, well done.

Me, too. It’s the go-to.

Sonic has some damn good breakfast burritos as well! Not sure if you’ve got one around, but definitely worth it. Love their salsa they give with them.

I do like the McD breakfast burritos.
Everything else there basically takes 20 minutes off of your lifespan.

Did you know they changed the grease used to make the fries several years ago which is why they no longer taste as good.

Burger King Breakfast Croissant is better than anything at McD's...that said, they can't seem to give you a burger that is or will stay hot either, so there's that. HA HA

I tried the impossible burger a couple years ago and it tasted like it was sitting around 45 minutes. And was way too expensive.

Illinois has not had a burger boy since  Jereme Richmond? That’s crazy.

The only decent Burger King I've been to in the last 10 years is the one off of I39 in Wenona. The rest have been absolute fucking garbage.

Which is a shame because a whopper, made correctly, is amazing.

Culver's is where to go for a decent fast food burger.

Yes, the whopper, done correctly, is the best burger, but hard to find.

No, but guess what? They're about to open a Culvers in Washington!

I'm not important enough to cut the ribbon. But I can show up shortly after they open and get pissed because nobody knows what they're doing yet.

Or I can wait a couple weeks. That's what I usually do when a new place opens.

I once stood in line 20 minutes with basically no one in front of me (one person maybe?) at the old Burger King at 4th and Green in Champaign and finally had to leave because I couldn’t get waited on.

Probably 2nd to last time I went to a BK I took my kid there for nuggets when he was about 3. The food was so bad I threw it out and left without even complaining. Figured if they served the shit they gave us there was no chance they’d get it right.

That location closed down probably less than a year later.

Was the BK front counter employee wearing a Mack Bear jersey?

Hardee's hot ham n' cheese was money back in the day.

I just realized how little I eat fast food. Used to love Arby's, a good Whopper, McD's, but none of that shit even sounds good anymore. I'll get a Culver burger about once a month. Probably because I work at home and live out in the sticks.

And I also agree about the McD's breakfast burrito.

Culver's burgers are good. I like their chicken fillets too. I had the cod once, it was undercooked.

I had a Jersey Mike's cheese steak. I'll go back.

I have driven by a Portillo's a few times. It's always too crowded so I keep going..

Jersey Mikes isn’t too bad.

Portillo’s is good. Their chocolate cake shakes are to die for! Chocolate shake with apiece of chocolate cake at the bottom 🤤

I've had way more spicy Italians at subway than I would care to admit. Basically lived on that in college.

What we are learning is that the people on this board appear to have terrible eating habits. I'm sure some will question their taste in fast food, as well.

40 years ago my favorite was the Italian BMT with vinegar & oil.

My breakfast today was whole wheat toast, an avocado, some pineapple chunks in juice, a poached country egg, and black coffee.

I still like a good BMT or spicy Italian from subway. I had pretty much quit going to them back home but the one closest to the house down here is really good. Not sure how something that defined streamlined sub sandwiches can vary so widely from store to store. Culver’s is excellent and a good Whopper with bacon and cheese is a solid hangover aid. There’s a Freddy’s right by the subway I referenced earlier and that’s good too, it’s a knockoff of Steak n Shake which we don’t have down here. Anyone ever go to the Meatheads on Neil in Champaign? Used to go there years ago and it was awesome.

Go to a Fatboy's down south in Florida....you won't want another burger from anywhere....they are that good.

Strawberry Shake with a Maxwell Street Polish only way to go at that joint.
