You can try to say the Citrus Bowl—a matchup between top 20 teams, one of which was on a 6 game winning streak and barely missed the playoffs—is not a major bowl game, but I’d say most would disagree.

It’s kind of a participation trophy bowl. It’s better than a lot of others, but it’s a glorified exhibition game.
