And that's why you're not a sports executive.  You're more worried about this sort of thing than how well a guy actually plays.

Like literally, how can you even type this with a straight face given how many times you've staunchly defended mediocre play from the actual guy playing QB for the Bears right now?  You don't care if a guy performs on game day but you're concerned about his car?

lol. You think NFL teams aren’t asking those questions? Particularly after his second half of the season media semi-meltdown? Naive. Very very naive.

A start of questions Tempo would ask...
1. Do you have a valid driver's license?
2. Do you have a child car seat in your car?
3. What is your favorite Justin Fields game?
4. What is your favorite Justin Fields commercial?
5. So you eat at Dunkin' like Justin Fields?
6. Will you wear a visor like Justin Fields?
7. Do you like Bulls games as much as Justin Fields does?

The Projectile Vomiting Debate Method was more clever and factual.

Spark, anyone thinking about taking Caleb Williams #1 is going over not just his play, but his personality and general makeup with a fine tooth comb. Unbelievably naive to think otherwise.

They make these kids parade in front of scouts in their underwear for Christ’s sake. You think they’re not diving into every possible detail? Naive.

To be called naive by a guy who is very concerned about one dudes car but doesn’t care about the other dude’s performance on the field.

Couldn’t write it.

I don’t doubt that bad GMs are worried about shit like this, it’s how you end up justifying the Trubisky pick because he drove a Camry.  Good GMs are more concerned with how a dude plays, which it’s become extremely clear isn’t even a factor to you

If they keep Fields because of Caleb Williams’ car they deserve the mediocrity they’ll continue to get at the most important position.  Would hope if they pass on the QBs it’s for reasons at least tangentially related to football.

You are so fucking full of shit, shit you do exactly the same shit you accuse me of doing I never said I was VERY COnCErNED. There you go making me defend shit I didn’t say again. all I said it was that I would take a closer look at his priorities and if getting paid, has changed any of that, as would any NFL scout. Trust me good Scouts, don’t just look at the tape they’re evaluating every aspect of the player and his make up

Arguably the best player in the draft fell all the way to number 10 last year because of concerns about his reliability and maturity

Do you think a 21-year-old with newfound money and a Ferrari isn’t a candidate to maybe lose focus or do something dumb then you are beyond naïve

I don’t think it’s controversial to say anyone evaluating this decision who continually brings up one guy’s car and never mentions the other guy’s play isn’t a very good scout.

You are far, far more likely to bring up the car thing than to discuss Justin Fields’ play without making excuses.  Far more likely.  The standards you have for the two guys are just miles apart and everyone can obviously see it.

You are totally oblivious to the fact that you do the same exact shit you accuse me of doing

I don’t think he’s any more a candidate for that than a 24 year old getting his first big NFL contract no, but the difference is if the second guy buys a nice car none of us ever even hear about it.  I have no clue what kind of car Daniel Jones bought with his new money and it doesn’t factor into my evaluation of him in any way.  Same with Mahomes or Drake Maye or CJ Stroud.  It’s not even tangentially related to his ability to perform as a football player.

I am not naive enough to think this is really about Caleb Williams at all.  If the Bears didn’t have the first pick I just have no doubt you would have far fewer stretchy “concerns” about Caleb Williams that are unrelated to his ability to be a good NFL QB.

Just like the ranting about Mooney not catching the Hail Mary, this is about Justin Fields.

Yeah and Justin Fields didn’t play at even a Hall of Fame level this weekend
