Lol ok. Was he great, or awesome? No. Was he good, particularly when he needed to be and did he take care of the ball? Yes.

He was middling as passer, and electric as a runner.

If Bagent had those passing numbers, you would say put an Asterix next to it because that pass that was a touchdown and 50 extra yards shouldn’t count because it was an offsides and a blown play by the Lions defense. Take that one play away from Fields and his passing numbers were fucking trash.

And Fields has DJ Moore, also an elite WR, but you're angry anyone is calling a game when he had less than 225 yards and 1 passing TD "middling".

If Fields was putting up Stafford numbers, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Of course Matt Stafford has played 15 seasons, starting 202 football games, and his average game is 271.5 passing yards and 1.7 TD per game.  Fields has had 2+ TD 8 times (once every 4.5 games or so) and 272+ yards passing 4 times (once every 9 games or so) in 35 starts.  He puts up average Stafford passing numbers a couple times a season, basically.

Again, I don't think you really want to compare these two guys as passers.

If Bagent had played he’d had either been 20 for 21 with 96 yards or 20 for 29 with 3 picks.

Look ar DJ Moore’s numbers with Fiields and without. I believe he and Moore have a perfect passer rating together. 13 games into the season. I’d like to see what happens if they add MHJ.
