It's going to be pretty rough for PAMan when he has to STFU about Fields.

It’s my main reason for sticking around. Maybe he’ll be right, but I don’t think he is.

Hilarious. Yeah, I love the "Hurts had a great year and a great Super Bowl so that means that Fields is going to be great!" stuff.

Hurts is known for his work ethic, especially after getting benched at Alabama. I have said Fields can be successful if he works hard in the offseason because he has a ton of work to do. Hopefully Fields is not listening to The Twitter people and just sitting on the beach or it will be another long year for the Bear next year.

I hope I am wrong. But that is dependent on Fields working as hard as Hurts did to make himself a passer.

I’ve never ever heard anything but praise when it comes to Fields’ work ethic. I’m fairly sure if he doesn’t succeed it won’t be because he didn’t work at it hard enough.

And no one has said “Hurts is great so Fields will be, too.” It’s just a logical comp of a reasonably possible outcome.

Again. Fields’ work ethic has never been questioned.

Yesterday was a blissfully beautiful day in NE Illinois.

And I think the tape shows Fields is probably already a better passer than Hurts. Needs to hit the layups more consistently, though. Fields was the best rated passer in the PFF era in college. I don’t think that was fluky. That said, he still has improvements to make to the pro game. As does every young QB.

I'm more interested in how Fields played the second half of the season than anything about another team.  The Bears had a nightmare roster overall but Fields was electric.  If you don't see the potential there you're not paying much attention IMO.

Don't agree with this either.  He needs to get much, much better as a passer.  Part of it is scheme, and you don't want to take away his legs, but he needs to be throwing for more than 150 yards a game.

He has the physical skills to be a good passer. He needs to throw on the break instead of when the guy is wide open. An example of this was Hurt's long pass in the end zone. He threw that ball as the guy was just to break left between the two defenders.

Yep. And he learned to do that at Oklahoma. Except for the two year window after that where he wasn’t considered a good passing NFL quarterback. Until he was.
