Norte Dame answering the “do they belong” question in the usual manner.

Much as I would have preferred Clemson getting knocked out of the CFP, watching Notre Dame get embarrassed on the big stage is quite therapeutic.

Mouthpiece Mullen's Gators are getting their ass kicked by Alabama. 28-10 Tide with 2 minutes left in the 1st half.

Amazing he's dumb enough to talk smack before Florida plays Alabama in the SEC Championship.

I kind of see this from a different angle. Any talk about the CFP from Mullen is moot until they win. He could have said, “We will talk about the CFP if we win.” Thats not exactly what fans and players want to hear from their coach.

They’re also big underdogs trying to get over the hump playing the premier program and rival from the neighboring state so that’s pretty much exactly what I’d expect from an SEC coach in his situation.

And I seriously doubt “bulletin board material” is much of a thing with the players or staff at Alabama. They’re a completely dominant machine. They’re more professional than a lot of professional football teams, including the Bears.

That all said he does say a lot of stupid shit

Watching these games today really kind of reinforces the idea that CFB is kind of turning into women’s CBB. We essentially have a couple of ultra elite programs that are just head and shoulders above the rest.

Two lopsided matchups between top 6 teams today? Might as well skip all the bullshit and fast forward to the part where Clemson and Alabama play for the title.

I mean, say what you want about the randomness of the NCAA Tournament, but at least it’s an ethos.

Najee Jones is a lot of fun to watch. He’s got power but there’s also some Alvin Kamara in his game.

Yup...there are some serious flaws with CFB. At least a 16 team playoff would have some really competitive games between random teams. It truly is a broken system

And on a different note, CBB is a horrific watch these days

I for one am glad to see this intrepid offensive line finally getting the credit it deserves!

Oklahoma 31, Florida 13 at halftime in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl.

Top 4 team -- already with 3 losses -- huh, Mullen? Maybe a little less time shooting off your mouth about the CFP and your team doesn't choke at home against a 5 loss, severely undermanned LSU team. As it is, Mullen made it really easy for the CFP.

Damn, now I feel like throwing a shoe at the TV whenever they show Mullen.

About 6 minutes in the 4th quarter. I hope OU scores another TD and hangs 62 on the Gators.

Oklahoma 55, Not Even Remotely CFP Worthy Gators(1) 13

(1) Except in the eyes of some idiots on the CFP Committee.

College football rankings and CFP were horrific this year, unless you consider the NCAA FB advertiser’s perspective.  When you look at it that way, they fucking nailed it. Which, of course, is the entire point of college football.

Coastal Carolina lost their game to Liberty so it eliminates that controversy. Guess we shall see how Cincy does. If they won convincingly against UGA then we have a legit controversy. If they don’t, then it’s hard to argue we need an 8 team playoff. I just don’t see anyone outside that top 4 that can win 3 consecutive games against top 8 teams. We’d probably just get a first round of mostly blowouts with an occasional close game or upset.
