I have to admit that I've tuned a lot of this out, except what I read here. Figured I would save any outrage for when he actually does something stupid instead of just saying stupid stuff.

I still have no clue what all the Greenland shit is all about. Haven't bothered to read up on it as it seems completely over the top in its ridiculousness. Panama Canal, I get.....

The ridiculousness is because it came from Trump.
From the wiki
"Since the 19th century, the United States has considered, and made, several attempts to purchase the island of Greenland from Denmark, as it did with the Danish West Indies in 1917. Internal discussions within the United States Government about acquiring Greenland notably occurred in 1867, 1910, 1946, and 2019 ...."

It could help national security and maybe they wouldn't mind getting away from the Danes.

The normalization of Trump insanity continues unabated. Greenlanders don’t want another landlord or boss.  They want independence.  There's no way Trump’s going to create a new state or territory by taking over a population that will hate us from the jump.

We already have bases there. Maybe Trump wants to buy Greenland so he can remove the US from NATO without losing access to Greenland.

As it stands, we get the usage of Greenland without having to pay to support Greenland. Win win
