I had this dream the other night where the Illini lost a home game they definitely should have won by being lethargic and shooting themselves in the foot over and over. I thought it was about the Purdue game but while watching the third quarter all I could think of was that dream.

I watched this game and thought the same things. Totally LETHARGIC until the mid way through the 4th. These guys thought they had this game won before taking the field with 4 defensive starters plus 4 backups out. Crap play calling, crap offensive line play, and the constant screw ups on the field.

MSU being shorthanded motivated their players in the short run.

Illinois took them lightly, especially after the fast start.

Trap game.

We had more yards, more plays, but ToP was fairly close.

Special teams: their punter was  a lot better, but they missed a field goal and an extra point.


Still do not understand the OC misplaying the wind.
This was on bad play calling.

Usually teams only do that when the offense is running a hurry up offense like Chip Kelly used to run.  Illinois wasn’t running anything up tempo so it made little sense for MSU to try it.  Don’t think it made any difference in the game.
