Music was even better in the 1870s, right Nichi?

Tchaikovsky, Wagner, Brahms, Schubert, Verdi, Debussy, Hayden ...

I do like a lot of your music stuff you post here, but this is ridiculous to say.

It’s an example of why people use the term fag and retard…

Country mostly went to shit this century. It's like they are trying to imitate country music. Like PMSMan mentioned. All hat ...

When Rosanne Cash was 18, her father gave her a list of 100 essential songs to understand the music.

PMSMan. Another good one I'll have to add to the rotation.
Mark Carman: "The Whitlock!...Caleb Williams failed Wayne Whitlock." Been told I need to take my dick out my mouth so maybe I "wont [sic] sound like such a fucking faggot all the time[.]"

Tempo: "PAMan is a pot stirrer and agent provocateur"

I believe there is probably more good music coming out today than there’s ever been. In many genres. But the downfall of traditional radio and the reliance on streaming in some ways makes it hard to find the good stuff even though it’s all at our fingertips. People are locked into singles and whatever their app is hustling, and most people don’t buy/download full albums anymore and fall in love with deep cuts. The flip side of that though was the other night after the MJ Lenderman album got done playing, my Apple Music got on a heater playing stuff in the same vein and rattled off 15+ songs in a row that were all good and by artists I’d never heard of. I ended up making a whole playlist just of those songs that were served up to me by the algorithm.  I really like that the folk/americana/non-nashville country is truly in a golden era right now.

I have come across some excellent Indie stuff. I'd recognize it If I saw it I again. There is just so much canned mainstream bullshit to wade through.

There always was a lot teeny bopper crap, but there used to be FM stations that played songs longer than 2 minutes. I listened to WPGU in high school and college.

The Rolling Stone back then was arrogant, but they were an alternative source of information.

Brillaint composers.

This is an interesting watch. If you are a music lover, you should check out his youtube channel. He's mostly a rock guy, but always has an interesting and informed perspective on music's landscape.

Been listening to this band Highly Suspect lately. On the lighter side of my tastes, but pretty solid overall.

Anyone keeping up with the Van Halen stuff that’s been coming out? Pretty much to the point where I think DLR, Ed, and Alex were all miserable fucks.

Alex has his new book “Brothers” coming out. He’s given me the impression he’s a bitter old man the last couple of years and the parts of the book released so far seem to be re-enforcing that IMO.

I like the new HS album. Was discussing it with my neighbor buddy and he sent me this. Kinda funny because we have HS and VH in back to back posts.

Yeah I like that one too. The only one I really don’t care for is MCID. That said, love the tracks Canals and 16 off that record.

Reportedly, Alex doesn’t even mention Sammy Hagar in his book. Ed and Alex seemed to have an us against the world viewpoint.

Yeah those two off that album are good. But agree all their other albums are better.

Unclear on what you’re referring to here.

On a road trip up to Chicagoland this weekend with my lady friend, and while listening to Highly Suspect, she said I bet this guy could sing Van Halen pretty well.
