South Shore prices are up for sure, the table minimums if you want to go gamble are just gross, and there is no escape now that the Lakeside has closed.
But it just doesn't matter. The primary market for Reno/Tahoe is the Bay Area, and there's just too much freaking money.

We just looked at a nicely rebuilt Eichler in Palo Alto. The Eichlers are cute, but in the end they were small cheap houses, I think the architecture is overrated. This one was like 1700 Sq Ft, with a reasonable yard. They ripped it down to the studs, so it was fixed up and kept the same footprint and character but modernized the plumbing and HVAC.

It was in Palo Alto which is way up there on the "Brand" scale, but it was way on the edge and near the freeway.

Listed at 3 Million. Open house on the weekend, taking offers 3 days later on Wednesday, 36 disclosure packets sent out, went pending at 3.5 Million.

Place is just broken.

I attended outsidelands fest last weekend (awesome festival btw, when you get free tix) and spent some time in the city, and it was nice, but I just can't understand why its so crazy expensive.  Like a lot of parts of SF remind me of Chicago, like literally no difference.  Other areas are obviously unique to SF.  Golden gate park is nice but IDK if I'd want to live near there.

How do you work in finance if you don't understand economics. The 3.5 million dollar house I just described wasn't just plopped down and got 3.5 million bucks - they had several offers. Because there are jobs here that pay ridiculous amounts of money, but the geography and the nimbies constrain the housing. Supply, demand. Then that filters down to restaurants and whatever because the employees there need to make higher wages just to live in a shoebox.

A lot of the tech workers might want to live some place cheaper - but if the boss doesn't, then well, there ya go. And then FB/Apple/Google insisted people come back to office.

You gotta remember, no part of SF will remind you of Chicago in either July or January. Like in my stats class prof said - San Francisco and Champaign have the same daily average temperature over the course of the year, but the variance is a bitch.

If Trump settles out of court I keep hearing it's because he's guilty.
CBS settles out of court and I'm being told it was because they were bribed by Trump who's also openly admitting, baselessly and without evidence, that he's corrupt.

Okay 😂

So it was the Pelley-Biden interview and CBS is admitting that they're the corrupt ones.

Who'da thunk it ?

Put 60 Minutes on Paramount. Problem  solved. They can pretty much creatively edit any way they want. Just avoid blatant slander and libel..

They didn't admit to corruption. They admitted Trump's lawyers could take some more things out of context and spin them. Ultimately, all things considered, it made dollars and cents to settle with the lawsuit happy prick..

Or CBS could spin the interview rather than inform their viewers and avoid any discovery by settling.
Because that's what happened.

"From 1973 until he was elected president in 2016, Donald Trump and his businesses were involved in over 4,000 legal cases in United States federal and state courts, including battles with casino patrons, million-dollar real estate lawsuits, personal defamation lawsuits, and over 100 business tax disputes."

meh.

Now the word is Trump took some of the hundreds of millions he pilfered from Mn by selling him Red Hats and Trump coins, and put it in the bond market, and is now on a jihad to fire the entire Fed and install his yes men to drop interest rates inappropriately, which in theory would increase the value of his bonds.

Sucks for him that if he pulls off the Fed part, they can lower the fed rate all they want, the market still won't want those bonds if he destroys the economy

Why are we still talking about Biden? Who cares.

Oh right, Biden is new news. It's EPSTEIN that's old news.
