I can see where trying to wean the economy off recklessly printing and borrowing money could present some challenges to growth.

He is talking about transitioning from an income tax to tariffs. Imagine for a moment the size of a federal government that could pay for itself via "duties [that] be laid on goods, wares and merchandise imported.”

One day tariffs imposed.  One day tariffs postponed.

One day sanctions off.   One day sanctions on.

One day workers fired.  One day some return to work.

One day stock market held in high esteem.  One day stocks not so important.

One day Musk calls the shots.  One day not.

Welcome to the short attention span circus.

I know I might as well be talking to a brick wall here, knowing how much most of y’all here love taxation, BUT maybe if we hadn’t created a ginormous bloated bureaucracy that is collapsing under its own weight, we could explore alternatives to the thievery that is federal income tax. After all, we not only survived, but somehow thrived and expanded prior to implementing it.

That said, I don’t think he’s serious for a second about this being something that happens anytime soon, certainly not while he is president. More of just painting a picture of what could be possible if we made wholesale changes to the way we both spend and generate revenue. I don’t agree that tariffs are going to be the answer. Certainly not the sole answer.

We get it. You don’t like the way he does things. The Democrats think we should handle everyone with kid gloves and capitulate at every turn because we have money and resources.

Which is exactly how we ended up with no southern border, wars breaking out all over the world, running the country like a Harvard thesis class more concerned with gender ideology, DEI, pronouns and defund the police BS than focusing on the basic principles that made America great to begin with.

The rest of the world, from the cartels to Putin, sensed the weakness of the USA under “auto stamp Biden,” alongside the weak Euro-commies and their little puppet Trudeau. Enemies were emboldened, and made bold moves.

Let’s face it, your way wasn’t working. We need someone bold to put other nations on their heels, rather than the other way round. We have the power, money, resources, and influence. Trump is using that fact to create whiplash and most of the moves you’re decrying have resulted in almost immediate capitulation to an outcome that’s better for the USA.

Some of you act like using this method is going to ruin our alliances with countries that need us wayyyy more than we need them. Bullshit. We’ve been letting them take advantage of us for way too long.

You think Trump administration hates Canada? Absolutely not. This is all about embarrassing Trudeau, who is an authoritarian tyrant wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing. He’s been terrible for Canada, is unpopular, and is aligned with numerous WEF/commie globalist interests that the Trump admin despises. I’m right there with him. Fuck Trudeau. I hope he spends the rest of his life in political exile because the Canadian people deserve better.

On the other border, Sheinbaum and Trump seem to be forming something of a productive relationship that will address concerns on both sides of the alliance. Definitely not what you were predicting a few weeks ago.

Musk calling the shots was always a wet fever dream of the left, so that’s on you if you fell for it.

WGAF if some people got the wrong letter or whatever. In a massive scale cutback of a workforce when you must act quickly to avoid a years long protracted battle that undermines the mandate of the American people, some mistakes will be made. As Murph would say, the slight over cuts are a feature, not a bug. They’re part of the design. Despite the furor of the left about this, it’s shocking how little difference any of it has made-or likely ever will- on every day American life. Just more fear porn for people to get upset about day in and day out.

"Trudeau, who is an authoritarian tyrant wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing."

Is "Trudeau" a typo for "Putin" by chance? Regardless, good rant!

Income tax - thievery
Sales tax - Not thievery

Paved interstates in Custard's state paid for with money stolen via the income tax from Californians? God's plan

Did anyone actually read this?

(a)  “Sex” shall refer to an individual’s immutable biological classification as either male or female.  “Sex” is not a synonym for and does not include the concept of “gender identity.”

(b)  “Women” or “woman” and “girls” or “girl” shall mean adult and juvenile human females, respectively.

(c)  “Men” or “man” and “boys” or “boy” shall mean adult and juvenile human males, respectively.

(d)  “Female” means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell.

(e)  “Male” means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the small reproductive cell.

From the White House .......
"(f)  The prior Administration argued that the Supreme Court’s decision in Bostock v. Clayton County (2020), which addressed Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, requires gender identity-based access to single-sex spaces under, for example, Title IX of the Educational Amendments Act.  This position is legally untenable and has harmed women."

"Gorsuch, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, in which Roberts,
C. J., and Ginsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan, JJ., joined.
Alito, J., fled a dissenting opinion, in which Thomas, J., joined, post,
p. 683. Kavanaugh, J., fled a dissenting opinion, post, p. 780."

"Gone here is any pretense of statutory interpretation; all that's left is a suggestion we should proceed without the law's guidance to do as we think best. But
that's an invitation no court should ever take up. The place
to make new legislation, or address unwanted consequences
of old legislation, lies in Congress. When it comes to statutory interpretation, our role is limited to applying the law's demands as faithfully as we can in the cases that come before
us. As judges we possess no special expertise or authority
to declare for ourselves what a self-governing people should
consider just or wise. And the same judicial humility that
requires us to refrain from adding to statutes requires us to
refrain from diminishing them."

The only thing that distinguishes that sexes at birth are chromosomes. Why not just say that is what determines sex?

Why the focus on the production of large and small reproductive cells? Also,  why the euphemistic language?

"Male” means a person that, at conception, has the chromosomes of the sex that normally produces sperm after puberty.

The justices, including 4 liberal justices, opined that they are bound by statutes. They didn't opine that interpretations of statutes may be changed on any given day depending upon how people feel on a certain day.
The Democrats had the House, the Senate and the White House. They had an opportunity to pass legislation. They didn't do it.

Some Democrat backed organization can file suit. Or Congress can pass legislation.

When Judge Judy is guarding bathrooms, he now has to check to see if patrons have   large or small reproductive cells. I am not sure how that works for the former.

If someone is too effing squeamish to say ovum and sperm, I can understand they would have issues with this: https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/001669.htm

Thanks for making my point for me. Sales tax is mostly voluntary. Income tax is compelled, taken directly from your pay, used to fund transgenic mice and gender ideology in foreign countries, and you can be jailed for not paying it.

I’m so glad we thought up income tax so we could invent roads! You can thank the MIC specifically for the Interstate System.

Whatever.
You can file suit or wait until the Dems have all 3 branches again.
