Can't - Don't see this happening at all based on that story. I think he goes and with his name will have suitors/doors opened that others of same talent may not be presented with. Either way not an ILLINI.... :-[

The NBA does not care about who your daddy or brother is.
Not a first round pick, but could and should likely make a roster. 
He needs to go while his stock is high. He is older and might have a shitty year or get injured in college.

Yeah ok. I am sure Larry will tell the Pelicans they have to draft Pete to sit the bench with him.  ::)

Pete needs to go. He isn't going to shoot 45% from 3 again and he otherwise is nothing special besides being 6'9".

He’s not even in the draft radar from what I’ve seen. So capitalize on his 45% 3pt shooting by going undrafted and hoping for a 2 way contract if he’s lucky? Maybe we could leverage some of that money that was going to be thrown at Kofi and put together a payday for him.

He is very good college player.
Is possible bench guy in NBA at best. Not a bad thing.
I guess two different standards to judge a guy by. Just ask Kofi.

I just think if he is getting feedback someone will take him in 2nd round or as FA and sign him he needs to go now.

If he comes back to college and shoots 32% from 3 he will never get a shot.
He also will want to play out on the floor in college as he is not a post guy in NBA.
We would need to commit to a nontraditional more 5 out motion offense like Iowa played with him as a dribble handoff and passing PF to get him.
I am sure staff have to navigate this stuff with any guy coming in.
