I wouldn't say national relevance other than being a top 25 team but we are no longer a dumpster fire so we have that going for us.... I think you are forgetting how bad we have been since Dee Brown graduated 16 years ago

Most of the people who follow college basketball have spent most of the last two years talking about Illinois being a national title contender squad. Being a 1 seed and a 4 seed and probably a 5 seed in 20 if the tournament wasn’t cancelled. Two second place finishes and a first place finish and a BTT title. That’s national relevance by any definition.

When I said he's a starter earlier, I meant he's a starter for the type of player we need more of. Some size and athleticism to go with what he does well. Put some muscle on him during the off season.
