I can't say much about this as I only caught the last 1:30 of it.
Official winner of the HQ Tallest Midget award. Thanks, Jobu!

Up 14 in free shots to eek out a win.
Good to see a 63% FT shooter sink 4 straight to seal the win.

We do not put teams down when we should. I'm legit worried about this team winning the BTT, being a 2/3 seed, and losing to the 14/15.

We're not winning the BTT.

Played out a lot like the @ NW game.

As for Kofi…

I see him either coming back or transferring because the NBA won’t take him…

Right now he’s Shaq, but soft around the rim…

He needs another year to block shots and find a mid range game…And not to bring the ball down and just dunk the damn ball…

PSU wanted to control tempo in a low scoring game. We obliged.

Pretty much. They had a great defensive game plan for Kofi and the personnel to pull it off. Both teams missed scads of open looks from three. PSU looked fired up and we looked largely disinterested. Rob pretty much nailed it in his pregame write up—classic trap game.

Despite how close it was I was never really worried we’d lose, though.

Why the hell was Plummer in there on their next to last possession where they buried the three to make it a two point game? I was absolutely dumbfounded when I saw him coming out on the court out of the break.

And why was Kofi in there for the subsequent inbounds play when we needed free shot shooters and ball handlers?

Only thing I can come up with other than complete mental lapse from the staff is that they’re prioritizing tournament readiness?

Gonna have to be happy with the W, put this behind us, and get ready for a spirited effort from the Frans.

I hate that I’m even addressing this post, but you’re kind of right for once.

I can’t believe they don’t have Kofi committing to making a move more quickly yet. The defenses being thrown at him are evolving more quickly than he/the staff is.

Some of this is league familiarity and scouting and the degree to which teams are allowed to hang on, hack, and foul Kofi due to horrid league officiating. But this was our only matchup with PSU this year and they still put together a really good game plan. That’s a good indicator of how we are going to be scouted in the tourney. Thankfully DMW was able to make them pay for not guarding him.

Honestly not sure why Kofi would want to come back for another year of this bullshit unless we are showing him hella NIL money. It’s not progressing his game in any way that I can see other than he passes out more. Even that seems to have slowed. He has been able to shoot more jumpers this year, but they’re usually way off. He doesn’t look nearly as explosive as he did earlier in the year.

We don’t seem to able to get him anything going to the basket, he isn’t making decisive moves, he stands there and basically waits to make his move once the triple team is already there and he’s fucked. He needs to go right away and attack the rim as his default catch move. From that point we can call plays to shake it up where he waits for the triple to start to come and then have him pass it out. Letting him decide on his own isn’t working with too much frequency.

If I were Kofi I would probably enter the portal as soon as the season is over and let the bidding war commence. His income ceiling with his current skill set is almost certainly via NIL. Then evaluate the NIL numbers and choose a team in a conference with semi modern officiating where he isn’t going to be mauled each and every game.

And how about Trent’s defense and DMW just being a baller tonight?

Yeah once Oscar leaves Kentucky after this year, I can definitely see Kofi heading there. Just wonder if the agreement he couldn’t go there was just for this one year. Will be an interesting offseason for him for sure.
Because FOX News told me so…

It's why he's been a starter the past few years.  ;)
