I didn’t feel great about this game even with Kofi. They’ve played teams tough for the most part. Just glad to pull out a W.
I imagine it’s pretty hard having your best players in and out of practice/lineups when most of the teams we are playing have been working as a much more cohesive unit for three months.
Hoping we can get Belo back for a solid month for this team to really come together for a strong run in March (and hopefully beyond).
The fan interaction at the Welsh Ryan Dyke High School Gymnasium Stadium is much improved. You could at least tell it was an away game for once.
Leading the B1G halfway through. Tough stretch coming up for sure. Probably need to win two of three against WI/PU/IU to give ourselves a little cushion going into the home stretch. Obviously @PU is a very tall task. I like to think we’ll take care of business against Bucky @SFC but the game in Bloomington will most likely be a rock fight.
Glad to see the frosh give some valuable minutes in a meaningful road game. With the class coming in, we should be in pretty good shape going forward if we can do well in the transfer market. Assuming Kofi and Jake don’t come back.
As much as I love Kofi and will always appreciate what he’s done and will do for Illinois basketball, I am also excited about moving away from having a ginormous traditional big man in the post along with a bunch of rangy wings and a couple highly skilled PGs.
