Haha yep. The Country aire. So much better than the Dixie. For sure.

Guys, Jasn is not bullshitting. Everything checks out.

that wouldn't happen today. DUI'S get handed out like crazy

Well, they did back then too. I honestly don't know what happened. Like I said, things were hazy. All I know is I was thinking I was about to go to jail, cop said nah, we left. Finished off the beer and went home.

I think the dude I was with was buds with the cop. That's the only explanation that makes sense.

Too bad the grandma died a few years back (102 or something like that). Used to stop in to/from hockey in St  Louis. She had moved to Mount Pulaski in even later years. Maybe that is where the trailer fried chicken place was.

Racist red herring. When I go to Lincoln, none of the sketchy folks I see were ever living in the projects in Chicago.

They mostly went to Danville, Champaign, Rantoul, and Decatur. Even the people from the projects knew better than to go to Lincoln.

Correct. Lincoln was not about to deal with any of that nonsense.

Reminds me of a weird Lincoln story. For some reason, I don't exactly remember (this day/night was pretty hazy), I was sitting in the back of a guy's pickup in the McDonald's parking lot. There was a cooler of beer, and we were drinking.

Cop pulls up. We're like oh shit. Caught. Dead to rights. No reason for us to be sitting in that pickup drinking in that parking lot. Oh, and I was like 19.

Cop gets out. Driver of the pickup gets out. I'm just sitting there. Driver talks to the cop. Cop walks over, says, what do we have here. I'm just sitting there, like fuck. Welp. What can I say.

Driver looks at cop and says, hey, can we take off? Cop says sure, be careful.

We left. That's it.

I was like, what in the actual fuck.

Then it was off to the Dairy Queen parking lot?
