Some guys just can’t stay healthy and he seems to be one of them. I believe I read somewhere that he is almost 24. I’d love to be wrong and hope he becomes a star here. Just hard to keep hoping.
You may have read it here.

After not playing actual games for 2.5 years he gets hurt in an exhibition game then managed 61 mostly ineffective minutes across four games, then suffered a different, season-ending injury. That’s just brutal.

I got the impression he suffered a sports hernia, which would explain ineffective play, then aggravated it.
If he wants to move on, that will be his decision.
If he wants to further his education, I assume we will honor his scholarship.
Definitely a tough 3 years for him tho.

That’s crazy that Hutcherson will be 24 next season. And barely played college ball.

I was surprised by how slight he was when he finally saw the court.

His official bio is 6-6/190, which means he may actually be 6-4/175 or somewhere in between, which is pretty thin by athletic standards.

It's a shame he's had the injury course he did. Played 35+/g as a freshman, too. Would have been nice to see what he could have done here healthy given that we weren't the only good basketball school recruiting him.

Luther Head had similar injury and came back way better player but given Hutch’s age I doubt he ever contributes much.

If guy is 24 and has aspirations of playing pro ball anywhere I’d not advise them to waste the finite years they have as a 6th year college player

Austin Hutcherson will actually be 24 on April 7 2022. For comparison, Kenny Battle turned 24 on October 10 1988. JCL turned 25 on July 15 2021.

JCL’s played for 4 different high D1 teams. That has to be a record.

Illinois
DePaul
Iowa State
Kansas

Although with free transfer rule, this may occur more frequently.

JCL in his 7th year of college 😂.I wonder if he has a degree yet
