I'd like to hear your thoughts on all those verboten topics.

Can we say Illinois would have won the Loyola game if Ayo wasn't playing? People here have said Illinois would be better without him,  citing the MI game which really didn't mean nearly as much as the Loyola game in the grand scheme of things, before they started backtracking saying that Illinois would not be better BECAUSE he was gone but because of who they brought in to fill out the roster.

Well, I am not a Hulka guy, but I have always said he is good at creating a competitive culture and toughness and that is a strength.
I was never a huge Ayo fan, but gave him plenty of props when he made some improvements and adjustments after Xmas. I even started a thread commenting on his hard work to adjust to what defenses were doing.
He obviously had a very good college career.
I commented on how he had a better pre season than summer.
His shot form looks a little better from three.
He is doing OK in his minutes off the bench and no doubt will improve.

Apparently we are not to discuss the Loyola game, Hulka and staff's coaching in it, and Ayo's performance in that.
So we will leave that alone.  ;D

The kid clearly wants to succeed, it is a full time job now, and is willing to put in the work and his teammates recognize it.
Good approach and wish him the best.
I noticed the same in my working days. Some employees were given more opportunities and responsibilities when they put in the time and effort.
And some didn't put in the time and effort. And those were the people who would say ' how come so and so gets to .......'

But was the workplace better when those people were out, say sick or on vacation?

When that person is out, and everybody steps up to the plate, it's to everyone's advantage. Especially if it's noticed and rewarded.

I’ve noticed when my 6 year old, who likes to help clean the house, cleans the coffee table, or sweeps the kitchen floor; he doesn’t do as good of a job as I would have.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

True, but what about these people you mentioned? "And some didn't put in the time and effort."

If you just adopted more competent kids, you could be replaced

There was no backtracking just clarifying since you and your boy Tempo misunderstood the first time around. 😘

Oh, I don't think so. The verbiage was very clear the 1st time around.
