Zook built a decent program, he got fired for a year that was pretty much the same as the pinnacle of Becktard or Sleepy.

This roster was trash to start with and banged up to boot. Pretty tough to turn chicken shit into chicken salad. And we’ll be worse next year unless we hit a bonanza in the transfer market.

You can always coach a scheme were shit wide receivers are not wide open every fucking play. The difference with NEB was that the QB was terrible and could not throw the ball to the open guys.

And I love hearing the revisionist history on Zook. The recruiting was complete shit at the end because everyone knew he could not coach and he could no longer get marginal students into school. There is a reason the guy went to work at a bank after getting fired from Illinois and then came back as a ST coach for Green Bay and fucked up a playoff game.

It was obvious that Zook needed coordinators to run things, and he would have been better served as a front man.
