Patrick Ewing owns Brad Underwood.

Actually Underwood owns you like a little bitch. You wake up in the morning and all you are able to think about all day is Underwood. Underwood, Underwood, Underwood. You freak out that the team has had some success the last three years, and is now recruiting better than we have in decades. Too bad for you as we look like we will be a consistently competitive program. Brad has set up a room inside your head rent free bitch.

I scouted the 4 Illini commits tonight.  Took a deep dive into their highlights, athleticism, etc.  Here are my findings:

Sencire Harris:  awkward long lanky lefty. Very athletic, but high dribbler. He’s a guy that would be best becoming a defensive stopper.  Looks very awkward on offense off the dribble.

Jayden Epps:  I think he’s great. He’s a Carsen Edwards clone.  Good size, explosion, score anywhere.  He’s better than any guard Illinois had last year.  He should start every game.

Skye Clark- not seeing anything special here.  Good stroke from 3. He looks fundamentally sound.  For as awkward as Harris looks, Clark is a natural.  But lack of athleticism and blow by ability means he’s probably Geo Baker or Rich McBride at the college level.

Ty Rodgers-  strong athlete, limited skills. Undersized 4. Ideally he becomes like a Ja’Sean Tate but very few guys can actually make that work.  I could see him washing out.  Lot of hype over bearing Michigan State for him but I don’t see much skill with him.

So I think Illinois has 1 great All Conference lever player (Epps), a project (Harris), a low ceiling reliable starter (Clark), and a guy that I think belongs at a level lower than the Big 10 (Rodgers).

Interested to hear others opinions

I don’t think you’re terribly far off on Harris. He has the tools and he’ll improve a lot with coaching. I mostly agree with what you say on Epps and Clark.

Think you’re a ways off on Rodgers. He’s the strong athletic wing we’ve been missing. Plus motor and rebounder. Aggressive mentality. Plus defender. Doesn’t shoot it well yet but handles the ball well. Should be a contributor early on by most accounts.

Based on videos after the injury, the only real  similarity to Rich McBride is shooting skill.

Rich was a good to very good athlete who became a below average athlete due to chronic nagging injuries. Clark was an elite athlete who might only be a good to very good athlete due to an acute injury, depending on his long term recovery.

Rich had adequate ball handling and passing skills for a shooting guard. His court awareness was not something that stood out. Clark's handle, passing skills, and court vision are all appear to be well above average if not elite level.

Clark is a very polished lead guard. Not even close to the same type of player as King Rich who was never a great ball handler, penetrator, passer, or playmaker. Barely ever got to the line. Did become a decent defender.
I will be surprised if Clark does not start from Day 1. He did not come here to come off the bench.

Yeah, not seeing the Rich McBride comparison. Looks like a much more rounded player.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

So what in this video “looks like Rich McBride.”

Clark has better handles, better vision, better body control, dunks pretty easily. In other words, doesn’t look like Rich McBride.

Clark is one of the best ball handlers in his class.

Then you didn’t see McBride in HS.

I don’t give a shit what McBride looked like in HS. I know what he looked like in college though, and that ain’t it.

Just because McBride dudded out after his foot problems, doesn’t mean Clark is doomed to the same fate.

I did. In person several times.
Next you will state he looks like Barkley.
You will soon run out of black players you can actually name.

Clark post injury looks exactly like McBride did in college.  Slow with no explosion

Podz looks a lot like Larry Bird. A tad shorter, less athletic, lacks the elite ball handling and magical passing skills, court presence and awareness not in the same universe, but both are white and can shoot, so good comp. Too bad he is leaving.
