NBA draft
« on: July 29, 2021, 10:34:58 PM »
Some interesting factoids so far after 35 picks…..

Franz Wagner went 8th.
The Thunder have 6 picks overall.
Scottie Barnes went ahead of Suggs.
Jason Preston of Ohio went 33rd.

No AYO yet.

Love being reminded that Preston lit up Illinois.

Wieskamp and Livers get their name called at 41 and 42.

QUOTE on Wieskamp.
“I went out in pregame warm-ups just to watch him, and I never go out in pregame warm-ups. His balls don’t hit
the rim. I’m fascinated with guys who can make baskets. I sat out there and watched him at the free throw line hit about 19 [jump shots] in a row and I don’t think any of them hit the rim.”
-Illinois head coach Brad Underwood

LOL. You are not a fan.
I am not sure how he fits into NBA game but could develop.

Actually, I'm joking about those who always say "The Illini will be better off without x"....

Lol, that was good tho.
I'll cut LK plenty of slack. He was probably preoccupied with draft analysis.

Had a feeling the Bulls would take Ayo. I like the pick. A lot of people think Ayo is only scratching the surface on his potential. I think he could end up being a versatile NBA player, and the 2nd round is often where you find those glue guys.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Ayo is a total pro, hopefully his hard work, talent,  and attitude helps make the Bulls good again. Can't say I've watched any games since Thibs got the axe, I can't stand Zach Levine's face or game so yeah....

Hate to see him fall this far but I imagine the Dosunmu family sees a lot of value to being drafted by the hometown team. He’s a high floor fairly low ceiling NBA player but have no doubt he’ll make the most of what he has.

As usual Custard provides some objectivity. Yeah - he really fell pretty low after a lot of talk about first round a few months ago.
He does not have any true position in the NBA right now and I am sure that showed in workouts.

He has a good work ethic (they all pretty much do), so that will help. His length and open court motor is attractive to build upon. He is a weak link on both sides of ball in half court in NBA right now.
The Bulls seem to have a quite a few guys who are just a guy after the starters so he has an opportunity to maybe play a little bit and develop.
He needs to develop something he can do really well at this level and he can make and stay in a rotation.
I think he does do that eventually. He works hard and will get away from his family directing him.
