Nobody wants Bergeron as a coach....

Whatever Illinois has brewing with Mitchell (and they do), it’s almost certainly not going to be *that*

I don't think he was particularly skilled other other than some tough on ball defense so guard development would be a stretch.

We have specific needs, just not sure he is what we want right now unless we are going for the loyalty to Illinois route.

Chester has never really won a big recruitment. Does that mean he can’t? No, just means that...hasn’t been put on his resume yet

Chet is only a good pick up if he's our number 3 guy.  Like many have stated already on here, Chet could bring a major upside to the defensive development among our players, but I don't see how he can possibly impact with regards to recruiting.  I don't see any evidence of it at VT.

Losing all 3 assistant coaches will cripple this program. The roster is all but on the verge of falling apart.  Miller is already gone.  Podz is now already signaling he wants out.  I still don't see Kofi coming back when he can get the same development and more along with $$$ over in Europe even if doesn't get drafted.  Why come back to Illinois?

Ask yourself this?  Would it really surprise any of you if both Belo and Podz follow chin and Antigua down to Kentucky.  They were both recruited hard by the each of them.  And for all the talk about how Frazier and Damonte were all but out the door only for them in a blink of an eye decide to come back right before this mass exodus of coaches....

To me I think that maybe part of the reason for the frantic turn around on Frazier and Demonte returning was Underwood knows his roster is fucked and is in desperation mode and pleaded with them to come back.

My bet is there is much more known right now than what's being let out in regards to the stability of the program and what players are staying and which are not.   None are going to make anything official until the coaches get set to where they are going.  The door is still wide open for lots of time between now and then for these kids to decide that. 

Looking back on a couple of interviews before those rumors of coaches leaving started you can notice Brad was panicked then during his interviews.

And if you go over on Loyalty its all sunshine and rainbows with 2022 championships already being discussed.

No doubt this is an evolving situation.
I know it was stated that all the recruits and players were contacted and they are good, but I am guessing we lose one or more of the five '21/'22 recruits here.

Hopefully not any of the existing roster guys leave and the 2 transfers. If we can get some solid assistants and make tourney again we might be able to right the ship.

On the other hand as you note- we are in dangerous waters right now.
We need some decent news on the assistant front.

Chin's 247 list shows he recruited nobody for NE or UIC. Also missing Greg Eboigbodin and  Ayo Dosunmu.
