Need to buy a new gas grill after 18 years. Needs to have wheels so I can store it in the garage. Any thoughts?
What did you go with ?
I just saw this. Is this proper use of 'jus' ?

Have not done anything yet. Was going to go over to Costco just to see what it has and have not had time to get there.

And, yes, that is the proper use of "jus"!

Costco has Saber gas grills which are nice.  sometimes Costco like other big retailers has companies make models just for them that are stripped down to sell cheaper so do research. I saw a decent looking pellet grill for $399 last time I was there. Think I’d do that cuz you get all the convenience of a gas grill but with wood flavor and precise temp control

I will keep this in mind. Thanks.

You've never been to Costco or Sam's Club?

My experience.
They put the price sticker over a steak that is a poor cut. Price/# for prime beef is great, but there's always some waste on their cuts. My wife went in about a week ago, 2:30 ish, and found a 3 pack of filets that all looked very well cut. It had been packaged at 2:12.
Steaks didn't have a whole lot of flavor, and I read this morning that their steaks may be blade tenderized ? They were good eatin tho. $18/# ? Can't remember.
Prime brisket is apparently priced well.

They do blade tenderize their cuts, pretty much everything you find in a Styrofoam tray is... the ones found in the large packers aren't

I usually only get prime since I don't eat as much red meat these days, may as well make it a treat when I do, their Atlantic boneless skinless salmon is always so easy to make delicious as well, nice fat ratio in that

costco is where I got that A5 Wagyu from, online only though

I googled. So blade tenderizing means you should cook to a higher internal temp to kill bacteria ? And they can take lower end prime, blade tenderize it and it comes out more tender ?
If the butcher cuts a tenderloin in filets, and doesn't package the meat but displays the cuts, does that mean it may have not been blade tenderized ?

I’ve never lived close enough to a Costco or Sam’s to justify a membership. And I don’t like giving money to Walmart. Have wandered around in Sam’s a couple times. The only real thing I ever buy in bulk is meat from local farmers. It’s cheaper overall and I know what I’m getting.

I get a few buddies together every year or so and split up a beef and a couple of hogs. The only real downside of that (besides needing freezer space and the lump sum expenditure) is you’re eating the same animal for a year so there’s not much variety  compared to buying some here and there as you need it.

That’s not really a problem with pork because it’s a lot more homogenous than beef. It would really suck to get a $2000 half a beef and it not be very good one.

For instance even though Scott knows exactly what I want and hand picked this last one and it was processed in the same place and in the same manner it is not nearly as good as the last one I got from him. It’s still not bad by any means just not as good. So I’ve been picking up some ribeyes and strips when I come across some that look really good just to shake things up a little.

I’ll have to check out Costco, I am only about 10 mins from one now so that’s why I was curious.

I usually sous vide stuff so you can have lower temperatures still kill bacteria or smoke to higher temps

I wouldn't worry about it, most of those concerns are from germophobes or health department criteria

I think Costco will let you in the door to snoop around. Just tell them you're not a member but you'd like to see what they have. I don't know if you can buy without being a member tho. That QAnon, whatever that is, guy mentioned the Atlantic salmon. I think fish is generally farm raised.

I go hungry and get the the $1.50 hot dog and drink and fill up with gas while I’m there because it’s so much cheaper. Choice ribeyes are 6-8 $ lb cheaper than local butcher or Publix now. I’ve noticed their ribeyes often have big blocks of fat in them but very little other marbling. But sometimes they look as good as any steaks you’d find anywhere so I’ll grab a couple packages and freeze most for later. Their steaks are always super red and juicy...not sure if it’s because they are so fresh or the container is pumped full of oxygen or something. Agreed with MN is right they steaks usually aren’t trimmed as much. I always cook the steaks to med rare and no one ever got sick. I got a tray of the American cur pork chops the really thick ones last week. Noticed a package that had good marbling and really nice color. Separated them out into 2 chop packages and froze all but 1 that I grilled for supper last night. Put a dab of A1 on it it was wonderful !
