And yet I can guarantee you, almost no one would have been totally shocked if they were still playing.

Outside of a handful of teams I don’t think anyone would be totally shocked by almost anything that happens in March Madness. Be honest. Did you know the name of a single player on UCLA before this tourney? Or this game?

This all got started because I made a joke about Nate Oats and now you’ve turned into a Nate Oats apologist and are slobbering all over one of the last teams to get selected for the tournament because they beat Oats.

Haven’t seen you singing the praises of Loyola, who by virtually ever metric available was a better team than UCLA.

Anybody who didn't know Campbell and Etienne wasn't just not paying attention to college basketball in general, but wasn't paying attention to Illini basketball in particular.

Did Etienne play? Campbell I remember from the recruitment. I didn’t know he went to UCLA until the tourney.

No, I didn’t. Because with everything else going on in the world and with my life I watched less CBB than I ever have. I didn’t even watch every Illini game this year. I do know that UCLA was ranked in the preseason, has a good coach, and a history of doing well in the tourney.

There were some twists and turns. As you know, recruiting is fluid.

Barkley just absolutely dong whipped the NCAA. I thought Kenny was gonna come across the table and rip his mic off. Wow

As a credentialed "insider" I have to agree with my good friend Sir Charles. But I'd still like to know what he said.

Watching more college basketball than 99% of the world has proven to be.....absolutely fucking worthless this last week plus. I suspect this will be the new norm for the tournament

What, upsets?

The difference between #8 and #80 nowadays is smaller than it’s ever been.

Finally Michigan can avenge Brian Ellerbee and the pack of cheaters (Louis Bullock and Tractor Traylor) who set our program back a decade!

COVID really screwed with the mojo this year.

Then again, we will probably end up with three #1 seeds in the final four anyway. Which really makes me even more depressed.
