One of the talking heads said yesterday morning this Loyola team is better than their FF one.  No one should have taken them lightly.

IF there was a tournament last year I'm sure they would have done some damage there as well

That guy looks sort of doughy, but man can he play. That play where he got the feed then one touched it back to the guy who passed it to him coming down the lane was like  if Messi switched sports.

Nobody took them lightly. Or staff is not THAT stupid. We had a week to look at film. That is what assistants are for. They should have been putting in 18 hour days for a week looking at both GT and Loyola film and I am sure they were.

We were still not prepared with any response to what we knew they did well. They are disciplined fundamentally sound team. They had a game plan. They executed it.
They had no surprise defense and offense in that game.
We did not handle the moment as players and staff. Players play with confidence  if they know what to do to manage game situations they were prepared to face.

I will say this- Loyola is much better coached team than us. Our talent should have won out, but we froze up from the tipoff. Two immediate TOs with passes to nobody and we left Krutwwig completely wide open from 8 feet out and didn't bother to guard him.
 
We got worse from there. This is on staff IMO.

Hopefully they learned from it.
