Near as I can figure .....
We get the winner of 7-10 seed game Fri night on BTN.
Assuming Wisco, Md and Rutgers end up 10-10. Wisco still gets the #6 seed due to head to head and Md gets the #7 and Rutgers #8.
If Md loses to PSU, then Rutgers gets the 7 seed.
Indiana gets the #10 seed.

Agree that defense intensity has improved a lot in recent stretch. It was not very good early in year and inconsistent a lot until last few games. It is a game changer.

It’s not really surprising in retrospect that in the Covid era it took a while for a team that relies heavily on two freshmen to really come together. The high early ranking really set our expectations higher than they should have been based mostly on Ayo and Kofi coming back. Veteran teams like Tennessee and Mizzou started hot this year because they didn’t have to overcome assimilating new pieces with limited prep time to build chemistry and such. And now other more talented teams have passed them up as the season has worn on. We’ve also seen the gap close tremendously between Gonzaga/Baylor and the next tier of teams. And as always getting high level D out of freshmen usually takes some time.

All true, but the entire team has made a commitment to guarding harder.
It is a lot more effort.
The close calls vs shitty teams and the slow starts due to not guarding were a problem even a month ago.

We still have some things to clean up but it makes us very dangerous and capable of winning vs anyone now even when we are not hitting shots.

We didn't let OSU pull away even though we were cold most of second half and Kofi was nonexistent.

Yes more effort and more understanding of where to be and how to hedge. Playing smarter without fouling. Good adjustments have been made in our ball screen defense drop coverage as well.
