You said that hate sustains this place just after questioning Bielema's sobriety.....

I was mocking the most “optimistic” opinions of the Brett Bielema hire. Seems like you’re trying to fit a square peg into a round hole at least.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Addressing this further, I rarely ever watch coach or player interviews. I think they are painfully boring. I couldn’t care less what Underwood thinks of the 2guard from Tuesday’s opponent, Middle Tennessee State. I’ll listen to an interview if it’s on a radio program, but I don’t go out of my way to seek them. Just not a good use of my time IMO.

Regarding Underwood, I don’t doubt he’s personable and even charming at times. I also think he’s toned down his act since he’s been here. Maybe new coaches come in with a chip on their shoulder because rhey think that’s what the fan base wants? I don’t know.

“Well, no, I don’t listen to the media that would give me the best insight into our coaches’ personality, acumen, and relationships with the players, I’d rather just get my info from Danny Parkins tweets and treat them as gospel”

Why the BReal hate?

I don't hate him.  I just hope he's getting buttfucked in prison.  Because that would be hilarious.

Way back when, on Tyler Jackson's shitty board (Tyler Jackson also needs to be getting buttfucked in prison), I actually heard Breal call in to the Score.  God damn, that voice of his made me want to murder a puppy.  I called him out on it, and he got super pissed.  I think he's hated me ever since.  Ah, those were the days.

The original post did not age well.

Serve up my crow. I was wrong. I am happy with this hire

I was wrong in that I thought we'd be a perennial 4-8 team or worse and we're more like a perennial 6-6 team. It was an average hire, not an abysmal one.

But as documented in the first post, we had a golden chance to hire Leipold and passed.

If you’d have told me at the beginning of the season we’d be 7-3 right now I’d have taken it in a heartbeat. BUT the way it happened the last two weeks is disappointing. Still heading in the right direction though. Use some perspective.

One would think he had a great chance to bring in some decent recruits this year before the MSU game. Since then, and with the anticipated blow out at MI next week, hmmmm..

The bright side is we are 7-3 and all three losses were by a single score. We’ve gone from being awful and uncompetitive to winning more games and losing close.

The bad news is that’s going to change next week, and we’ll be demoralized riding a three game skid into Evanston for a rivalry game without our best player.

And we play UCLA next week in Vegas in basketball with a brand new team that’s looked a little shaky. Keep your cups on.

2011 all over again.

Of course. But we didn't know at the beginning of the season just how bad the B1G West is or how bad MSU would be. Or that it would all be there for the taking. The past 2 weeks this team has reverted back to "Illinois" football with bad coaching, bad execution, undisciplined play, stupid play, bad line play, etc etc. So disappointing.

Oh and another little ray of sunshine, we will lose most of our best players and aren’t recruiting the greatest. Gonna have to clean up in the transfer portal and a lot of the shine is coming off this diamond.

Jerry Palm noted that Illinois has not won a game where it has given up over 14 points.

I expect a loss at Michigan, but I expected 5-7 or maybe 6-6 this year. Beat NU for 8-4 and hope for a good bowl, and a healthy Brown.
