 Nothing easy for this squad. Some mediocre varsity high school shit out there tonight, would blame it on the weather but I’ve seen it in good weather too.

The Shane Gillis “Beautiful Dogs” standup on Netflix is glorious. Just about everything else I’ve seen I can hardly watch.

Illini finish 8-4 (or better) for the third time in 4 years. Twice in the expanded B1G. Not the season we hoped for, but not anything close to the faceplant we are accustomed to seeing on the heels of a really good year. Only one other time we’ve won 18 total games in back to back seasons and that happened 35 years ago. Golden era indeed!

If I'm reading the projections right, it's likely either the Reliaquest f/k/a Outback Bowl in Tampa or the Las Vegas Bowl? Vegas would be fun, and probably more winnable than whatever SEC team falls to the Tampa bowl game.

Non-zero chance we wind up vs. Mizzou.

May also be Music City Bowl? Probably go if that’s the case. Might also do Florida with the kids but probably not Vegas. If it’s in Nashville and anyone comes down let me know.

We're not going to Detroit. The Outback, to follow up on last year's Citrus, would be about as good as it gets.
I too hoped for better but 8-4 was a reasonable expectation. Win the bowl game and keep on building.

How did we beat USC and shit the bed in the 2nd half in Seattle and the whole day in Madison ?
And who knows what we'll have next year but I'm ok with looking for a new DC and OC.

Sports psychology. Something Lou Henson used to say, but it applies in general. The team would win a couple games and start thinking they were pretty good. So they didn't think they had to listen to the coaches and they stopped doing what they needed to do to win.
