Hey Tempo! Illini@Worshington! 10/25@2:30PM BTN!
« on: October 21, 2025, 04:15:25 PM »
My second time doing this post since I closed the web browser accidentally.....

Quote
#23 Illinois at Washington
Date | Time Saturday, Oct. 25 | 2:30 p.m. CT/12:30 p.m. PT [QANON97 BETTER SET HIS ALARM!]
Location Seattle, Wash. (Husky Stadium) [JUDGE JUDY AND QANON97 SHARING A DOUBLE BED....THAT'S AN IMAGE!]
TV   Big Ten Network [BUMMER]
Radio   Busey Bank Illini Sports Network / SiriusXM (372)
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Following its first off week of the season, #23 Illinois is back on the road for a trip to Seattle to face Washington. The Fighting Illini and Huskies are scheduled to kick at 2:30 p.m. CT on Big Ten Network.

Illinois (5-2, 2-2 Big Ten) is back in the rankings this week [WE ARE BACK BABY!], coming in at #23 in both the AP Top 25 and USA TODAY US LBM Coaches Poll. The Illini are led by quarterback Luke Altmyer, who ranks in the top 25 in the nation in completion percentage (6th, 72.4), passing efficiency (9th, 173.4), and passing yards (21st, 1,821).

Washington (5-2, 2-2 Big Ten) is coming off a 24-7 loss at Michigan last week. The Huskies are also led by strong quarterback play with Demond Williams Jr., who ranks right beside Altmyer in completion percentage (8th, 72.1), passing efficiency (12th, 166.5), and passing yards (18th, 1,837). [IF THIS CAT IS MOBILE, WATCH OUT]

The Illini and Huskies will meet for the 12th time and the first time as Big Ten opponents. Washington has won four straight in the series, including Illinois' last trip to Seattle in 2014. [WHAT A SHOCKER]

Jeff Levering (play-by-play), Jake Butt (analyst) [HE SAID "BUTT", HEH HEH HEH], and Brooke Fletcher (reporter) [THE DAUGHTER OF PALE HOSE SCOTT FLETCHER! SHE IS EASY ON THE EYES] have the television broadcast on Big Ten Network. The Busey Bank Illini Sports Network has the radio call with Brian Barnhart (play-by-play), Carey Davis (analyst), and Michael Martin (sideline).

Illinois in the Rankings
• Illinois was unranked in last week's AP Top 25, snapping a streak of 12 straight appearances in the AP poll. The Illini's 12 straight rankings was the fourth-longest streak in program history, behind 1989-1990 (33), 1950-1952 (21), and 1946-1947 (13). [SAD!]
• Illinois is ranked #23 in this week's US LBM Coaches Poll, up two spots from last week.
• Illinois has the #6 strength of schedule and the #13 strength of record in the nation, according to ESPN. [YAY US!]
• Illinois had its highest preseason ranking (#12) since 1990, when the Illini started #11 in the Preseason AP Top 25. [SAD!]
• Bret Bielema has had the Illini ranked in 25 AP polls, the third-most weeks ranked by a head coach in Illinois history. [MORE SAD SACK STATS!]

Winning Ways
• Illinois is 15-5 over the last two seasons, including 11 Power-4 wins, eight Big Ten wins, and wins over teams from every other Power-4 conference: the SEC (vs. South Carolina), ACC (at Duke), and Big XII (Kansas). [GOOD!]
• Illinois is 9-2 over its last 11 games with the only losses coming this season to now-#2 Indiana and #1 Ohio State. [GOOD!]
• Illinois has 15 wins over the last two seasons. A 16th win would give Illinois its most wins over a two-year stretch since 1989-90, when the Illini went 10-2 then 8-4 under John Mackovic. [GOOD, BUT SAD!]
• Illinois is 10-1 against unranked teams over the last two seasons. [VERY GOOD!]
• Illinois is 11-5 when playing as a ranked team over the last two seasons. [GOOD!]
• Illinois is looking to become postseason eligible in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2010-11. [SAD TROMBONE!]

The Illinois-Washington Series
• Saturday marks the 12th meeting between Illinois and Washington in the series that began back to 1950.
• The matchup is the first between the Fighting Illini and Huskies as Big Ten opponents since Washington joined the league prior to the 2024 season.
• Ten of the previous 11 contests in the series were regular-season, nonconference matchups.
• The meeting on Jan. 1, 1964, a 17-7 Fighting Illini victory in the Rose Bowl, capped the 1963 campaign that saw the Orange and Blue post an 8-1-1 record, win the Big Ten Championship, and finish #3 in the final AP Top 25 Poll.
• Illinois is 1-4 in its previous five trips to Seattle. The Huskies have won four straight at home against Illinois since the Illini captured a 27-20 road victory en route to the 1951 national championship. Since that first matchup in Seattle in 1951, the Illini have lost road games at Washington in 1956 (28-13), 1962 (28-7), 1972 (31-11), and 2014 (44-19).
• Illinois is 3-1 when ranked inside the top 25 when facing Washington. The #8 Illini defeated the #20 Huskies, 27-20 in Seattle in 1951. The following year, the 13th-ranked Illini won 48-14 in Champaign, and the third-ranked Illini captured the 1964 Rose Bowl title, 17-7, vs. Washington. In 1956, unranked UW upset #13 Illinois,  28-13, in Seattle.
• The 1964 win over Washington marked the Illini's last victory in the Rose Bowl. Illinois made its first appearance in Pasadena in 12 years, led by linebacker Dick Butkus and fullback Jim Grabowski. Illinois trailed 7-0 before Jim Plankenhorn's 32-yard field goal with one second remaining in the first half put the Illini on the scoreboard. Illinois came out strong in the second half, grinding out touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters to wear down the Huskies, 17-7. Grabowski earned MVP honors, gaining 125 yards and scoring one touchdown. [THE TRUE GOLDEN AGE OF ILLINI FOOTBALL, CUSTARD!]
• Tom O'Connell set Illinois' single-game record for passing efficiency (308.9), and touchdown passes in a half (5), vs. Washington 10/11/1952. [DOES HE STILL HAVE ELIGIBILITY?]
• Willie Osley's 98-yard interception return for touchdown vs. Washington (10/2/1971) is the longest interception return and tied for the longest interception return for a touchdown in program history.  [WE NEED WARM BODIES IN THE SECONDARY! BRING HIM BACK!]

Bigger question: What is the Illini road record when QAnon97 is in attendance?

And now, for Seattle weather with Mr. Roberts!

Quote
HQ2: Mr. Roberts, how was your week off?
Mr. Roberts: Babe and I had a swell time with Diane Keaton!
HQ2: Diane Keaton?! Do we really want to know how the Babe and you sullied her?
Mr. Roberts: No interest on our part. Babe and I do not want Woody Allen's sloppy seconds. Plus, we like girls who had a little bit of heft up top. But she can booze!
HQ2: OK, the last time we did this bit we ran way too long, onto to the weather, Mr. Roberts.

Mr. Robert: QAnon97 better pack his rubbers....not just for the bitches!

And now over to Jimmy the Greek and Brent!

Quote
Brent: Greek, you are back to pick against the Illini as you do every week?
Greek: Yep. Usually a solid bet until this Bielema fat ass showed up! I loved me some Lou Tepper.
Brent: The Illini started as 3.5 dogs. Now it is 4 to 4.5.
Greek: The sharps betting against the Illini again, Brent. So am I! They haven't traveled well to the West Coast since the 1950's! And QAnon97 will be there all drunk and pissed off yelling at the players.
Brent: Big swing in the Money Line on this one Greek...
Greek: Yep, started Illini +145 and Worshington -175. Now you can get the Illini +155 to +165. Worshington anywhere from -175 to -192. Everyone hates the Illini in this game, Brent. The Illini just are not bred to travel West. The Worshington athlete is a better athlete to begin with, because he's been coached to be that way. Goes back all the way to PAC12 when Don James was their coach. That's where it all started!
Brent: We are getting into some dangerous terrain here, Greek.
Greek: Worshington has some mountains. QAnon97 will be looking for some big mountains when he is out there. Hopefully he does not find a tranny....
Brent: What are your thoughts on the over/under? Let's focus on the game....
Greek: Started 54.5. Still hovering there. Can get 53.5 to 55 depending upon the book. I like the over. Not much defense to be played here by Illinois. Worshington may cover the over by itself.
Brent: The Illini are 5-2 against the spread and 4-3 over/under.
Greek: They will be 5-3 and 5-3 after this weekend.
Brent: Until next week.....

Go Illini.....

Thanks for the Willie Osley mention. I would have been in West Block I for that game.

And swiped from the Husky site .....

QUICK HITTERS: Husky RB Jonah Coleman leads the nation in scoring (11.1 points per game), rushing touchdowns (12), and total touchdowns (13), and is second total points (78) ... Coleman also ranks No. 7 in all-purpose yards ... Coleman has new career highs for attempts (24 vs. Colo. St.), rushing  TDs (5 vs. UC Davis), receptions (8, vs. Maryland), and receiving yards (104 vs. WSU) this year ... Husky QB Demond Williams Jr. is currently No. 8 in the nation in completion percentage and No. 12 in pass efficiency ... it takes 325 attempts (he has 295) to make the NCAA career active leaders rankings, but if he qualified, Williams would easily lead all active players in career pass efficiency (170.17), which would also rank No. 9 in FBS history ... Washington won 24-20 Oct. 4 at Maryland, despite trailing 20-0 ... it was the seventh 20-point comeback in UW history and the first on the road since the 1993, 24-23 win at California ... Washington has outscored opponents 80-20 in the fourth quarter this season ... only two of seven UW opponents has scored in the final quarter this year ... the Huskies rank No. 17 in the FBS in scrimmage plays of 10-plus yards (116), and No. 7 with 47 plays of 20-plus yards ... Williams is tied for second in the nation with 10 rushing plays of 20-plus yards ...

Washington is 66-17 (.795) in home games since the stadium re-opened in 2013.

Amazon Web Services won't give me the season stats in the Huskies website or you would have gotten more "notes".

How's their run defense ?

No cups are needed yet. Win and we've got a chance for 10-2 with losses to #1 and at #2.

The cup gets dusted off next week for the rest of the season.

Man. If Custard shows up, I'm not watching. Fuck this.

Not to mention, I'm gonna be laid up, on vikes, and generally in a not amazing mood anyway.

Kinda like when I had my vasectomy in 2001 and we lost in basketball to a very shitty Penn St. team that night.

Cleotis Brown's girlfriend saw my cock that day tho. Which was kinda amazing.

Fortunately for Illini fans everywhere, flight prices to Seattle from Nashville are outrageous.
