Seems like we fed off the energy of the bowl win. Humrichous finally showed up. Jake Davis and DGL were awesome. This had the same feel of beating the shit out of Michigan in Ann Arbor without Ayo during the COVID year. Goddamn inject this fucking shit into my veins.

Thoroly enjoyed the whole game and the fishwrap, surprisingly, did have the score. That was it.

A New Year's Eve bowl victory, going in as 10 point dogs, against a top 20 team and then hoops heading west to run a top 10 team off their own floor.

So that was an asskicking. Hard to take Oregon as a legit top 10 team but wow is it nice to see the offense work like that, particularly with Ben H, DGL, and Davis contributing as they did.

When Self was here and we were ranked pretty high we took an L like that against IU, on the road though I believe. They couldn’t miss from 3, I remember them making 17 that game. May not be an indication that they suck—we shot 55% from 3 on 29 shots. That’s demoralizing. They weren’t ready for our pace and spacing. Brad must have seen something on film because we were pushing pace so hard that Davis threw an inbounds pass out of bounds because the other player wasn’t even looking yet. 🤣  Once they cut it to 12 from 23 Boswell hit that long three and they just gave up.

I found an article about that IU game I was thinking of, pretty similar rankings and results, and that was a good Illinois team. It was at Bloomington though.

I’ve had a $198 Illini 1/4 zip in my shopping cart for a month, couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger on it. After a couple of barrel proof bourbons and that ballgame last night I couldn’t check out fast enough. Hope it doesn’t suck.
