We are 4th.
We SHOULD win the next four games so could solidify our place in upper tier. Then it gets pretty tough.

Gonzaga
Baylor
Tennessee
Illinois
Villanova
Michigan
Iowa
Houston
Texas
Missouri
Wisconsin
Saint Louis
Boise State
Colorado
Clemson
Colgate
Rutgers
Texas Tech
Oregon
Drake
Arizona
Florida
LSU
Arkansas
Syracuse

Overrated.

Dunno. As has been said here- it is Gonzaga and Baylor and everybody else. We are certainly in the second tier of the next 14 teams that could beat each other or get their ass kicked by each other on any given night.
I do not think we look like a top 4 team in normal years, but nobody can guard an empty chair in college these days.

N'western coming off back to back blowout losses and will be playing on their home floor.  That game will not be easy.  Unless Boui is out.

I saw somebody run to the paint to box out for a rebound the other day.
Is that still within the rules ? lol

I thought Duke requested a bye into NCAAs as a 1 seed and wished to forego playing any games until then.

They have a little bit of talent as always.
In an almost unseen scenario- KenPom has them losing the next 13 games.

The NET has changed.

The NCAA changed its formula for the NET ranking in May. Two factors (Team Value Index and adjusted efficiency) determine the ranking instead of the five factors used in the past. Categories not included now in the NET are scoring margin, winning percentage and adjusted winning percentage.

Team Value Index is described as the NCAA’s way of rewarding teams for beating quality opponents, especially on the road and at neutral sites. Adjusted efficiency measures team’s overall performance on both offense and defense during the season, similar to advanced stats guru Ken Pomeroy’s national rating system.

I don't quite understand it all. I have mostly used KenPom for years. Thanks for the insight.

What I do think in real life is if we start to guard hard, we can be very good. Like EE good.

I've thought this for a while. When we work harder in half court defense, the shot quality goes down and our offense responds.
We don't work on defense, and the playing field levels. We need to understand that.

As far as the NET, it's used in tourney selections and we'll probably hear again about how teams are trying to figure out how the new NET impacts them.
The new NET will take into account overall performance on offense, but scoring margin is eliminated. I suppose it's best to just run up the score to impact overall performance on offense if the score isn't going to be used with respect to the eliminated scoring margin.
