After close to 1 year and a Grand Jury, Ziegler was fired. Ziegler was the superintendant.

"The grand jury -- which the county school board requested to disband, but a judge ultimately overruled, followed by the Virginia Supreme Court -- stated that LCPS administrators were looking out for their own best interests instead of the best interests of the school community.

"This invariably led to a stunning lack of openness, transparency and accountability, both to the public and the grand jury," the report states, specifying that jurors heard testimony from more than 40 witnesses and reviewed more than 100 pieces of evidence in order to come to their conclusions.

"They failed at every juncture."

I don't get how this is about transgendered students or bathrooms as the assault happened in an empty classroom or is this just about educators being "sensitive" to parents complaints about serious issues?

This nonsense about the DoJ going after parents who wanted to get involved in their children's education is another dog that didn't hunt.

Most parents agree that trained educators, not uneducated parents, should decide the curriculum.

Most teachers think parents should get involved. Join the PTA. Show up for parent teacher conferences. Send their children to school prepared with their shots and basic learning skills. Cultivate good relationships. Don't go to school board meetings with hostile attitudes making scenes and threats.

I don't agree about making threats, but parents have every right to question, and confront, generally worthless superintendents, principals, and school board members. And that includes questioning the curriculums in a box they all rely upon.

This story about Ziegler is about a father who confronted Ziegler about his father being raped in the school bathroom.
Ziegler lied to the board members about the incident to obtain a pass vote on the school's transgender equity policy. For the superintendant, the favorable vote was apparently more important than the incident.

There are effective and ineffective to approach people. Or maybe that is just me and my sales training. Or not. I was raised by educators and taught you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I did kind of wonder why you'd want to catch flies.
